PE Section Added to Field Day & Others. New Versions of NM QP!

Scott Davis

Hi All,

Just a quick note to let you know that:

I have added the new Prince Edward Island (PE) section to:

ARRL Field Day Contest Log 6.2
ARRL 160 Meter Contest Log 4.8
ARRL November Sweepstakes Contest Log 7.1
Winter Field Day Contest Log 2.6

I'm not anticipating any additional changes to the Field Day software between now and Field Day.  Since everyone will need to install the new version this year, please go ahead, beat the rush and install the latest now!

Also, New Mexico QSO Party In State 2.0 & Out of State 1.9 are now available!

These programs have been updated for the rule changes adding 2 meters and 440.

As always, upgrades for all of these programs are free to registered users.  You'll find the upgrade steps here:

And in response to the questions we always receive when we neglect to include the following in our e-mail announcements...

Package Upgrade Information...

If you have registered one or more individual programs and would like to upgrade to N3FJP's Software Package for full use of all our Amateur Radio software, we would be glad to apply the amount that you have registered so far as a credit towards that purchase. Please send us an e-mail directly and we'll let you know your balance.

N3FJP's Software Package includes more than one hundred programs for contesting, net management and general logging Amateur Radio applications. In addition to full use of all these programs, registered package customers are also entitled to receive free passwords for any new software that we add to the package and free upgrades to existing programs. There are no annual / maintenance costs of any kind.  Simply register once and you are set with N3FJP Software for life!  You'll find all the details on the Register Now page here:

Donations are Gratefully Accepted!

And in response to the often asked question for which Kimberly and I are very grateful...

"I know your upgrades are free, but I also realize how much time and effort coding these enhancements and new programs take and that your pricing policy doesn't fully reflect that. Can I send you something to show my appreciation for your continued efforts?"

Yes, thanks so much, your continued support in any amount is very welcome and deeply appreciated! You can use this page:

or send your contribution by mail, payable to Affirmatech Inc., to:

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your e-mail.  The color value is based on the Y / N (Sent / Received) values, not the confirmed by values, as detailed here:

http://www.n3fjp.com/faq.html#q109

Doing a back dated All Since download or All Data download will likely get you going.  Details are here:

More details on now LoTW works with my software are in this video here:

Enjoy!

FYI - this is still an issue:

I have a growing number of QSO's in ACL that will not show 'Confirm By' from LoTW - even though I confirm they are in the LoTW database. If I manually add the 'L' to the 'S Conf By' field, the field does not change color.

I did export the database, create a new one and import the ADIF but it still behaves the same way.

Hello

Where can I get the freq. to adjust 7.074 in the log.
If I now log a contact via JTAlert he put 7.074.488.000.
When I print a label, he sets the complete freq.

Re: Intermittent logging from JTAlert and LoTW confirmations

Interesting - I changed the port number on ACL to 55055 (a random port that netstat showed as not being in use) and it began working again. I'm not sure what was using port 1100 (net showed it was ACLog) - but with 55055 in use, it is working again.

Intermittent logging from JTAlert and LoTW confirmations

Mark Steele

Starting yesterday, I am getting intermittent messages from JTAlert that it cannot log a QSO with ACL 6.6.  Additionally, I have a growing number of QSO's in ACL that will not show 'Confirm By' from LoTW - even though I confirm they are in the LoTW database. If I manually add the 'L' to the 'S Conf By' field, the field does not change color.

I have also noticed that when I start a QSO in WSJT-X, ACL is not pre-populating the call sigh as it normally did (the setting in JTAlert for this function is set (Enable sending of new DX call when first selected).

I suspect that something is blocking port 1100 or it is not starting properly in ACL.

Windows 7 Home 64 bit
JTAlert 2.15.10 release (not beta)
ACL 6.6

I have restarted the app and the PC several times with no joy.
I have confirmed that JTAlert is set to ACLog, Local PC and TCP port 1100.

Best regards,

Mark

When that happens to me, I try to open the same URL as the program, in this case, Country Files.  It could be that the ARRL server was having some issues.  If I can open it from my browser, but the program can’t access it, I’d try rebooting the PC & reloading the program.

Re: FW: Export of ACLog to ADIF - New Info...

Jim Shorney

Have you checked to ensure the date format in ACL under settings>date options matches the system date format and what you expect?

As for the callsign DXCC being assigned to England, the way you entered the call is the format in which software may expect the characters after the slash to represent a location or DXCC other than what is indicated by the call. /GRA would map to England (GAA-GZZ). I haven't worked any QSO parties in years but I would expect that county should have its own field. In fact ACL does have a COUNTY REC field.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for your follow up.  As you can see from your screen shot, you have not entered valid states / provinces for each of the QSO records.  You'll need to correct the records with the state each station sent you accordingly and resubmit your Cabrillo file.

Enjoy!
