Hi Don,
If you are talking about any of the contest SW, use the SPOT LAST button
below the message window. With ACLog I use the SPOT LAST button below the
entry windows and next to the LOG CONTACT button. It’s possible that I
placed this there long ago – I can’t remember if it is a default or not.

Thanks for the tip. I've been spending all my time getting my antennas working and haven't had a chance to explore this. Will do! Looking forward to the next contest (even though my wife isn't, hihi). George

I also exported a file which I imported to Excel to review, and that worked well also. Working all bands 160-10, I found the software as easy to switch band logs as my FTDX3000. Only 2 possible improvements I thought of.
First, when I switch between bands, I wish the sofware would preserve and populate the last Call Sign typed (for that band) so I don't have to retype it. For instance, I was in a pileup on 20M for Alaska, and I would switch between that and a 15M pileup on another station. Each time I would have to retype the last call into the software when switching. I would think this would fairly easy to do.
The second "dream" enhancement would be if the software knew which band I was on, since I inadvertently (and sleep-deprived) logged a couple on the wrong band (one a dupe) before realizing the error of my ways. (The EDIT feature made it possible to quickly correct the entries.) I'm assuming there is a connection from the Yaseu rig that would make this possible. For single operator - single band, it wouldn't matter, but I'm constantly switching between bands to make things more interesting!

Hi Ken,
Thanks for your follow up. I understand how frustrating the inconsistent data is and I wish I could be more help. Without being able to duplicate the problem, I really don't have any other insights to offer from here, beyond what I've already shared. 73, Scott

Thank you for replying again. I'll send a few more points your way and we can drop it. I'll either accept it or go back to using something else. Thanks to Ed for the suggestion. I was hopeful, but the sleep mode box was not ticked in the driver. The driver has been ripped out by the roots and re-installed. There is no noticeable RFI in the shack... the problem happens while receiving, so I should notice something in my signal and it's very good. Further, the problem goes away when the software is shutdown and restarted and doesn't rear it's head for some extended period of time. When the problem is happening, there are definitely extra characters being interpreted by the software. Physically removing the USB connection while the software is still running, swapping cables, and restarting the polling does not stop the problem. Clicking the 'Test' on the rig interface page will always correct the current frequency, but will not usually follow a VFO change. The very odd thing is It corrects itself when the ACLog, not W-10 or PC, is restarted and doesn't happen again for an extended period of time. And when it fails, it fails. I'm leaving it running and if it fails again tonight, I'll do some more testing for my benefit. I'm fairly sure the issue is on the PC side of the USB cable. Software, Windows 10, Brand new driver (late last year) are suspect. -- Ken - K4EES

Re: Should ACLOG fill "Country" field from data in an LOTW confirmation?
George Davenport
For WSTJX contacts, after importing the adif, I select the imported QSOs, then I go to EDIT, then click FILL FIELDS DETERMINED BY CALL for selected records. Then everything is populated. I will then upload to LoTW. I realize this may be more steps than actually necessary, but I feel I am more in control and confident that all is uploaded correctly.

Re: Should ACLOG fill "Country" field from data in an LOTW confirmation?
Bert W0RSB <bert.w0rsb@...>
I'm using ACLOG 6.6.
Just realized that his may have been related to the fact that I didn't enter the contact by hand, but by importing the ADIF file created by WSJT-X 2.1.2. Entries created from imported from ADIF files are usually fully populated, but there may have been something odd about this one. I don't have the ADIF file from this contact any more, so I can't see what was actually in it. Since this has never happened before, I'll leave it at that. -- Bert - W0RSB Saint Paul, MN

Hi Ian,
Thanks for your e-mail. You are using the USA / Canada version of the software instead of the DX version. Download DX version 3.5, enter your QSOs and you will be able to submit fine:

Bert,
What version of ACLog are you using and have you downloaded the latest country files from AD1C?
I just entered the call sign into ACLog call field and the country showed as Ecuador in the country field. It showed up before I tabbed from the call sign box.

Should ACLOG fill "Country" field from data in an LOTW confirmation?
Bert W0RSB <bert.w0rsb@...>
While I'm on the subject of associating entity names with calls:
I notice that ACLOG doesn't (or didn't in this one recent case, anyway) populate the "Country" column from an LOTW confirmation. Is the country data actually included in the data returned from LOTW? On the ARRL Web site, the country is known and displayed in the listings, so I just assumed it was propagated in the response (which I've never looked at). When I worked HC1MD/2, ACLOG didn't fill the Country field (Ecuador) when I entered the contact, and it didn't enter the field again when I got the LOTW confirmation a few days later. -- Bert - W0RSB Saint Paul, MN
