Re: API Question

Scott Davis

Hi Mike,

I'll be happy to add those fields in the next release, but I'm not planning any releases for a while.  In the mean time, you can retrieve the call from the settings file.

<CMD><SETTINGSPATH></CMD>

N3FJP Software responds:

<CMD><SETTINGSPATHRESPONSE><VALUE>C:\Users\snkda\My Documents\Affirmatech\N3FJP Software\ACLog\Settings.xml</VALUE></CMD>

The user's call is tagged as:

<USERCALL>N3FJP</USERCALL>

I'm writing a "generic" client and I really didn't want to prompt for a call sign I would rather get it from the Setup form.

Hi Noel,

Thanks for your e-mail.  As a work around, doing the download from AC Log will be fine.  That said, I am curious why you are encountering that.

Which version of the ARRL DX software are you running and which version of Windows are you running?

Scott,

I found the problem  I was running ACL Ver. 6.4.  I upgraded to ACL Ver. 6.6 and the countries download worked fine.  Good question to ask dummies like me; 'What is your ACL version?'.

By the way, without a Microsoft update ID (KB.....) it is almost impossible to find out whether an update is installed.  At least almost impossible for me.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your follow up.  You should be okay with Win 7.  Please make sure this Win 7 update is on your system:

If you continue to have trouble, try running the SSLFix.reg file detailed at the bottom of the page here:

I hope that this helps!

Also, remember that the Universal ID for Icom radios is 00. Almost all Icom radios will respond to most commands sent to 00. As long as you only have one radio on your CI-V bus, you should have no problem with using 00 for Rig ID.

Re: System Cannot Find Specified File

Walter

I probably should not have put two inquires on one feed.

The interesting thing is it all worked on the old Windows 7 Laptop.  But I now realize I used HD SDR on that laptop.  I use an SDP Play show the full band on a waterfall so I can see where the QSO's are and move quickly around the band.

On the new windows 10 laptop I wish to use SDR UNO as it can handle the greater demands of the software.  However it will not connect to both the Rig and the SDR UNO even with a Virtual Serial Port Splitter.  All of this works seamlessly on my desktop with the FT-450D but it will not work on the Laptop with the IC706MKiiG.

I will try going back to HDSDR next time I work portable with my mobile and see if it works the way it was on the old laptop.

I think if the logging software would connect to Omni Rig it would all work.  But it will not.

If anyone has any suggestions they will be appreciated.

73, Thanks, W9KJO

Re: System Cannot Find Specified File

Yep that it for the error code.  I forgot to load TQSL on the new Windows 10 PC.  Working on correcting that now.

So that solves the error code.

Hi Walter,

Thanks for your e-mail.  It looks like you have AC Log configured to upload on entry to LoTW, but there is a problem with the configuration.  You can disable the upload on entry option on the LoTW form and / or configure for proper upload as detailed here (clicking the From Registry in Step 4 will likely correct the error):
