Good day,

Having difficulty getting into the n3fjp.com web site to get upgrades.  I have tried from multiple computers as well as a cell phone on the cell service.

Is it just me or are others having issue too?

Cheat Sheets

Pat Whelton

I need help remembering where I can find some items on ACLog.  Somewhere along the line I thought there were published “cheat sheets” for the following:

1.  All the Cntl-X commands (i.e.:  CNTL-D brings up the DX Spotting Window).

2.  I thought Scott had created a utility or a Cntl-x feature that would let you click on a country or maybe a call-sign and it would tell you what bands and modes you needed that country on.

Re: ACL v6.5 & stranger issues with FLdigi QTH field data transfer

Scott Davis

Hi I,

Thanks for your e-mail.  The FLDigi programmers are correct, AC Log doesn't have a dedicated QTH field.  While you can name an Other field with the QTH ADIF tag, which will facilitate ADIF transfer, the API requires dedicated field names for the transfer.

I'm sorry that I didn't have the answer you were looking for.

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] ACL v6.5 & stranger issues with FLdigi QTH field data transfer

Dear  Scott,  I  running  OS WindowsXP-SP3 and ACL v6.5, but have an
issue with data transfer from FLdigi and "QTH" field in ACL Log.

This is the test:

1) I open ACL v6.5 and set data transfer port with FLdigi v4.1.07.03;

2)  I  open  FLdigi  v4.1.07.03  and  the transfer data is enabled and
connection is ALL OK;

The problem is in the transfer data field of "QTH", the issue is:

-  when  FLdigi transfer the QSO on ACL Log, the data of QTH from Fldigi is
transferred in ACL Log in the "QTH Grp" field.

This is an error.

I  write this problem  on the FLdigi Groups, to FLdigi programmers, but
the response is:

-  ACLOG  does  not  have a QTH field. The closest named field is "QTH
Grp".

Dear Scott, is possible your help for resolve this stranger issue?

Many Thanks for your patience.

Bye for now.

Scott Davis

Hi Pat,

Thanks for your e-mail.  The content of the data transfer is handled by JTAlert / WSJT.  There aren't any settings in AC Log to modify the data received, via the API.

Hello,

I'm having a problem with my GRID info here in V6.5.
If I use WSJT-X and JTAlert then it gives the correct Km in WSJT-X software.
The info in V6.5 is not correct here he gives 6 letters in GRID versus WSJT-X 4 letters.
With the 6 letters in GRID the distance is not correct in Km, If I manually remove the last 2 letters from the GRID in V6.5, the distance is correct.
Can I change that in V6.5 shows the 4 letters in the GRID ?

In ACLog Click on File -> Open  then browse to where you have the .mdb file stored on DropBox.  It will retain that path for future uses.

I spend about 6 months of the year away from my main shack (in NH) while I am in FL.  I have setup my shack so I can remotely operate it, but need to figure out how to handle the logging.  Can I put the database on Dropbox and run the software on my PC in the shack when I am home and then run the software on my laptop when I am in FL?

Is that the best way to do this?  How do I go about moving the database and setting up the software to access it?

Thanks,

N3FJP Country Files - 08 August 2019

There are new country files for ACLog and related software by N3FJP.
They are only for versions 4.0 and later. Country files for previous
versions of N3FJP software have not been updated since 2014.

To update the country files from the logging program menu, select:

Files -> Download Country Files From AD1C

You should download all three files. When done, you can re-start your
logging program.

Manual installation instructions are here:

Thanks, this arrived just in time, as there will be a new release tonight.

This is a software problem when the same call is used from two
different DXCC entities, and the new entity has an earlier base prefix
(FP) than the old one (FR). I tried to fix this a couple of years
ago, but it created more problems than it solved. The condition is so
rare that I didn't spend any more time on it. TO1A has had the same
problem.

I'll make sure it's correct for tonight's release.
