Hi Scott
For your list of future additions it sure would be nice to have a time readout and an ID timer on the Net log of Contact Log.  I use Net regularly and really like it to track my check-ins and their names thanks to QRZ.  But I have to look elsewhere to check the time.

From what I can tell, that only works with the main N3FJP log.  You choose the logging program in WSJT-X and ACLog is the only choice right now.  Scott might weigh in with something different though, but that is what it looks like to me.

Anyone figured out how to make them play nice together? Need WSJTX to send FT8 info to JTAlert which in turn will send Q to N3FJP Field Day program. I guess I don't need N3FJP to have CAT control of Radio (IC-7100) just as long as JTAlert sends the correct info to N3FJP FD program.

Re: Amateur Contact Log 6.5 is Now Available!

Brad Morris

Scott,

I've installed ACL 6.5 and I'm having an issue with resizing of the UI. I can't say this is unique to 6.5 as I didn't try resizing with 6.4. When I shorten the height of the window, everything begins to scrunch up and overlap.  Am I not supposed to change the height of the UI window?  I'd think the bottom data entry area would stay fixed, but the top would just collapse and a scroll bar would appear, but that doesn't happen.  Also, maximizing the display doesn't cause the content of the UI to maximize, just the window size maximizes.

FWIW, I don't have any entries in my log at the moment.  I'll be using it Saturday for the Armed Forces Day Crossband Test.

Windows 10 x64 Pro
Latest display drivers

Any help would be appreciated.

you can update lotw using “Data” as the mode, and update that to FT4 once the ADIF governance is complete, much as happened with FT8.

- Satellite Name and Prop Mode fields default to previous entry when visible.

This release wasn't planned just now, but it is necessitated by FT4 bursting on the scene.  Lots of FT4 users are eager to upload their data to LoTW, etc.  Being a brand new mode, the ADIF transfer specifications are just now being finalized by the ADIF committee.  It turns out that FT4 ADIF specs will likely differ from how FT8 and many other modes are handled, which requires this update.

Even after installing this update, you will not be able to upload your FT4 QSOs to LoTW quite yet.  ARRL will likely have to update their TQSL software to accept FT4 as well.  Keep an eye out for ARRL's announcements for updates on the latest TQSL release.

Awesome, thanks for the great reports Don and All!

I am comfortable at this point that all is well (aside from the very rare Bearing / Miles / Continent font size anomaly, which I believe I've corrected as of this morning).

If anyone encounters any anomalies now, please say the word.  Otherwise, I think we are all set.

Hi Rich,

Thanks for your e-mail.  The installer on the web site is definitely 6.5, as lots of folks have confirmed successful installations, so you are definitely still running the old 6.4 installer, which you saved previously.  Depending on your browser, you might try right clicking on the web site download link, click Save As, save the file to a location easy to find and then double click the installer to run it.

Enjoy!

Re: Amateur Contact Log 6.5 on the Web Site!

Hi Kevin,

Thanks, that's helpful!  I still have to investigate why in your and Bobby's case the value was blank, as the default should have saved.  In the vast majority of cases it has been.

The back story is that I was (and still am) planning to make those field's fonts customizable, but I got detoured by these other required, unplanned updates and haven't had the opportunity to get back to it yet.

I've reuploaded 6.5, so that the settings for those three fields are not currently read, so that no one else encounters the problem.  Of course, changing the config file will not have an affect anymore for now, but Lord willing, in the next release you will be able to customize the fonts for Bearing, Miles and Continent from within AC Log.

Thanks again!

Hi Scott,
I actually have the same issue as Bobby, the Bearing: miles: and Cont: are extremely small.
I applied the same fix that you posted in your reply, and it worked great, although I found that Point size a little large for my taste.
I actually settled on >Arial, 10.75pt, style=Bold< to make it proportional to my other fonts.
My screen resolution is only 1366X768 – my primary computer for radio is a laptop. ( a 4K monitor would seem like a movie screen to me, HiHi)

Anyway, The fix worked perfect.

The line in my ColorAndFontSettings.xml looked like this (before I changed it) :
<FORMBEARINGDISTCONTFONT></FORMBEARINGDISTCONTFONT>

I’m not sure why it didn’t specify a font type or size.
I’ve included my original file (as a.zip) if you would like to look further into this, but all is well.
I just thought you might like to know .

Hi Bobby,

Thanks for the report.  I'm not sure why you are experiencing that.  You can correct it as follows:

-  Click File > Show File Locations and note the location of your settings files.
-  Close AC Log.
-  With File Explorer, navigate to the settings folder and open ColorAndFontSettings.xml with Notepad.
-  Change the font size on this line to 15.75, as follows:

<FORMBEARINGDISTCONTFONT>Arial, 15.75pt, style=Bold</FORMBEARINGDISTCONTFONT>

-  Save the file and the start AC Log.

That will do the trick.

RES: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Correct CALL during a DX calling

Eduardo Anjiolino - PY2MP

Hi Scott, Yes noted... Tks

Just to comment, when you are on a pileup, and you write a call and press Tab, after the other side correct you, you can’t thing again on the whole call sign but you just think to change the error.

But is ok. I think the best Solution on this case is erase all the Comments. No problem if one or other contact dont take the information...

Thank you so much for attention. Really apreciate it.

Hi.

When I´m calling DX, I type the callsign K1AA for example in the comments appears the name of the person (Orlando Hamcation -  - Orlando, FL- 574962 - ORLANDO, FL  32857) but it may be that I have copied wrong the callsign, so I go back to CALL box and delete "A" and correct for K1AB, then in the comments it remains the previous name and still adds the new name. Like this( Orlando Hamcation -  - Orlando, FL- 574962 - ORLANDO, FL  32857HIROO SHIOZAWA -  - Anaheim Hills, CAHiroo  Shiozawa - 6001 E. SUMMIT CT.  - ANAHEIM HILLS, CA  92807-4771 )

And in the NAME column does not change to the correct name, the name of the first callsign remains.

Any way if I type the call, press TAB, but I return to call and type correct one and press tab, the COMMENTS box also correct and just remain the comments relating to the CALL actual.?

Maybe for me a little lay is better wait your automatic run start to upgrade.
