Hi Mike,

Good deal, thanks for the update. To have ACLog 2.5 add the zones to your log click Edit, Fill Fields Determined by Call.

Keep in mind that only discrete entities will be filled. For example, the USA has multiple zones so they will not be included.

Scott, I reported the problem incorrectly. I was unaware that V2.4 was

showing them. OR, am I confused in thinking that the software would

Scott:

I'm a little scared to go version 2.5 with too much buggs repport.

I think problem can to affect my data.

I downloaed ver. 2.5 yesterday.

It come with 46 "qsos" saved without dasta and set up ask to me if

I wanted to keep folowing files (really I don't know why):

MSWINSCK.OCX

agwdll32.dll

HAMCAL32.DLL and

QRZ32.DLL

Anyway I had keep them.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not: I can't find way for turn date and time fields for enter old qsos manually. (Also 2.5 don't repeat date from previous qsos saved like others fields, ex. frequency, band, repports)

This is important for me, since I have all my qsos from 1978 in the traditional hand logbook.

What do You suggestion to me: wait You fix buggs? or what?

Otherwise, have You add new waves files to version 2.5?

I guess You are very busy receiving too much repports.

Take your time for answer to me.

Hi Scott,

I'm hoping someone else will be able to give you more details. I only have one location here so I haven't checked in to setting up the requirements for additional locations. I'm guessing you will need another location specifiec in the Tqsl software for the other call. There are more details at http://www.arrl.org/. Please let us know how you make out.

ACLog 2.5 Beta Bug Report Status 2

Scott Davis

Hi All,

Another issue has come to light:

Bug #5: Jim, KB9DNA Reports: "The standard QSL R does not seem to stick through LOTW "All Data" downloads that haven't been confirmed. For example, I have a QSL card and check QSL R as well as put a 'C' in the R Conf By column. When I do an "All Data" download, the 'C' stays there but the QSL R is removed."

Bug #5: Status: Jim, GREAT catch, thank you. I have corrected that problem (and incorporated your other two suggestions). If you already have 2.5 installed The latest .exe file can be downloaded by clicking on this link:

http://n3fjp.ky1v.com/ACLog.exe

Just replace the existing file in c:\program files\aclog 2.5 with the file that you download above.

As of 10:15 AM Eastern 11/11/03 I have also uploaded a new installation package with the same corrections. If you haven't installed the beta version of ACLog 2.5, you can download the installation files from:

http://n3fjp.ky1v.com/ACLOG25.exe

The installation package only needs to be downloaded if you haven't already installed version 2.5. If you have installed version 2.5, just download the .exe file from the first link.

So, bugs 1 and 5 I believe are corrected, bug 4 will be addressed in the future but is not specific to ACLog 2.5. The remaining active issues that have come to light so far are:

- Bug #2: The time Window for recognizing a confirmed contact (currently set at 15 minutes) form LoTW downloads. FYI, if not found it is added to your log as a new contact.

- Bug #3: The Worked All Calculations not showing data in the list. I have a suspicion that this may be a specific problem to one log since I have not received any other reports.

Again, thanks so much and please keep your observations coming. This is VERY helpful!

Scott,

Dave may have hit on what happened. When I d/l the LoTW log, I wound up with 1 new entry in my log. It was a duplicate of another entry. I can't swear to it but there was almost certainly a difference in time, probably even more than the 30 min. allowed by LoTW. The new entry was marked with "L" in the S/R confirmed by columns and the original was ignored. So, here's the question. How does ACL handle that situation? If ACL does not find a match in my log under the criteria set forth, will it actually insert that as a new entry in my log? It would appear so. If it does, thats not necessarily a problem, I just need to make a few mental notes each time I do a d/l.

Hi All,

Thanks so much for your reports on ACLog Beta version 2.5 so far. I really appreciate it. Here are the reports that I have received so far and their status:

Bug #1: Ed, KG4QMI (and others) reported: "When you click on a record and bring up the edit, et al options, the LoTW and eqsl upload buttons overlap and almost completely cover the cancel button."

Bug #1 Status: This bug occurred when users brought over settings from the previous version. I corrected (I think) the problem and uploaded ACLog 2.5 again approximately 6:00 PM Eastern. If you downloaded the file before that time and are experiencing the command button problem please e-mail me directly as snkdavis@... and I'll send you a replacement file that should solve the problem.

Bug #2: Ed, KG4QMI also reported: "As far as LoTW, seems ok. downloaded 30 contacts and put L's in the S confirmed and R confirmed fields of all but three entires. not sure why it
didn't do those three. The actual d/l went smoothly.""

Bug #2 Status: I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. So far, all confirmations are being marked correctly here and I can't duplicate the problem. Here are the conditions that must be met for a contact to be updated in your log:

- The Calls must match (obviously)
- The Band Fields must match
- The Date and Time On Fields must be valid dates in your log
- The Date and Time On Fields downloaded from LoTW must not vary more than 15 minutes from what is reflected in your log

Additional reports on this will be much appreciated. If you find that there is a record not being updated, please check the record for the above information and let me know.

Bug #3: Tucker, W8EMX reports " When Running the Worked-all calculations, the only fields that are populated with actual data are the Grid and Grid(6) fields. All others
show a count to the right of the label, but have no actual data."

Bug #3 Status: Has anyone else experienced this problem? Tucker, does 2.4 show the data properly? The only changes I made to the awards screen was the 6 digit grid box. No other code was changed. Tucker, would you please e-mail your log directly to snkdavis@....

Bug #3A: Mike, W5UC Reports: "I move my 2.4 file over into 2.5, and it does not indicate any Zones. What did I do wrong?"

Bug #3A Status: I'm not sure if this is related to the above or not. Mike, are the zones not appearing in your log at all or is the problem on the awards screen? I haven't received any other reports of data loss when upgrading.

Bug #4: Dave, N6PZ Reports: "Looking at the CQ zones, zone 8 sorts as a different zone than zone 08, etc. There are only 40 CQ zones. I show having confirmed 46 of them."

Bug #4 Status: This is not new to version 2.5. What I need to do is add error checking to zones that are entered (from either ACLog or the contesting programs) to ensure that a two digit character is added. That is on the enhancement list.

So, that is where we are so far. Please continue testing the program and let me know what else comes to light. Again, thanks so much for checking out the software. I really appreciate it.

Re: ACLog 2.5 Beta Bug Report Status

Scott Davis

Hi Ed,

Good, thanks for the update. Changing the allowed time window is easy and it looks like it will be a good way to go, but I'm not clear as to why the time doesn't match exactly.

For example, you and I make a contact. I log it as 11:10 and you log it as 11:15. We both upload our logs to LoTW. Since the times are within 30 minutes LoTW show confirmations for the QSO.

If I understand how LoTW is working (and I'm not at all sure that I do), the contact time that you uploaded will continue to say 11:15 in your LoTW database and 11:10 in my LoTW database. Theoretically, the contacts you download from LoTW will have the exact same time as originally uploaded and there shouldn't be any variance at all.

Again, making the change is no problem but I would like to have a better understanding of what is happening.

ACLog 2.5 issues

Scott,

Here are a couple of things I noticed:

1. The standard QSL R does not seem to stick through LOTW "All Data"
downloads that haven't been confirmed. For example, I have a QSL card
and check QSL R as well as put a 'C' in the R Conf By column. When I
do an "All Data" download, the 'C' stays there but the QSL R is removed.

2. The Station Location field should be explained or split into Call
& Location. I was having trouble for a while until I realized I
needed "KB9DNA - Peoria" and not "Peoria".

3. The "All Contacts Not Uploaded" option will generate an error if
there are no contacts to upload. It still goes through the whole TQSL
process though.

Looks pretty good so far!

Regards,
Jim

When Running the Worked-all calculations, the only fields that are
populated with actual data are the Grid and Grid(6) fields. All others
show a count to the right of the label, but have no actual data.
Here is the actual Data That I have:

ITU Zn 63,
Lighthouse 46,
Prefix 46,
TenTen 46,
Continent 46,
CQ Zone 58,
IOTA 55,
Other 2 46,
Grid 77,
Grid(6) 54,
IARU Zn 46,
Other 3 46,
Other 4 46

And this is with data that does NOT have any Lighthouse, Tenten, IOTA,
or any of the OTHER fields filled in.

acl2.5 Bug #1

Scott,

Bug #1

When you click on a record and bring up the edit, et al options, the lotw
and eqsl upload buttons overlap and almost completely cover the cancel
button.

Tests

As far as LoTW, seems ok. downloaded 30 contacts and put L's in the S
confirmed and R confirmed fields of all but three entires. not ure why it
didn't do those three. The actual d/l went smoorhly.

DX spots. The spots showed up on the DX Monitor right away. Cool. Am I right
that only DX entries qualify to be spotted? If I'm running a 6m pileup,
stateside entries will not spotted..

Back to testing. Thanks Scott.

Ed.

Hi All,

A beta version of Amateur Contact Log 2.5 is now available! You won't find it on my website, but you can download it directly by clicking this link:

http://n3fjp.ky1v.com/ACLOG25.exe

Please download the program, give it a try and let me know how it works out. The additional features that I really want you to try include:

Internet Features:

- Upload and download data directly from the ARRL's Logbook of the World. (You must have version 1.10 of the ARRL's Tqsl software installed and the necessary passwords to use this feature)

- eQSL upload

- HamCall Internet Lookup (A subscription to Buckmaster's website is required)

Database Features:

- Update records that have already been logged based on the callsign and callbook lookup

- CQ Zones & ITU Zones auto fill where entries are discrete

- Multiselect records for marking Sent / Received

- Tracking of "Confirmed By" fields for QSO confirmation

- Award screen 4 digit grid worked box in addition to 6 digit worked box

DX Spotting:

- Automatic post of DX spots on entry

- Audio alert of DX posts and needed DX (Featuring the lovely KA3SEQ of course)

While in "Beta" status, please don't uninstall version 2.4. Also, please run through the features that were available in the previous versions just to make sure that everything is okay.

I'm really looking forward to your observations, comments and suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help!

date bugg?

radhames bonilla <radhamesbonilla@...>

Hello Scott and group:

Where is the problem?:

I logged a qso date 01/02/1979 where 01 is the month, 02 is the day and 1979, of course, is the year.

In the date format setting I have marked MM/DD/YYYY.

After saved, the date in the logging board (top main screen)it showed as 02/01/...instead 01/02/...

I have checked the Edit Contact box and date is showed correctly 01/02/1979

What I'm doing wrong or where's the problem?

Hope your help or ham of the group.
