Hi All,

Two other corrections have been made and uploaded as of 6:30 PM 11/12/03 EST. If QSL Received had been checked as a result of a card but was not confirmed by LoTW the check was removed on download. That has been corrected. I have also widened the matching time window to 30 minutes.

If you already have 2.5 installed the latest .exe file can be downloaded by clicking on this link:

http://n3fjp.ky1v.com/ACLog.exe

Just replace the existing file in c:\program files\aclog 2.5 with the file that you download above.

I have also uploaded a new installation package with the same corrections. If you haven't installed the beta version of ACLog 2.5, you can download the installation files from:

http://n3fjp.ky1v.com/ACLOG25.exe

The installation package only needs to be downloaded if you haven't already installed version 2.5. If you have installed version 2.5, just download the .exe file from the first link.

The only other possible issue is the one digit zones, but no one has responded that they are having problems since the initial e-mail. I can't duplicate the problem here. Unless anything else comes to light I think 2.5 is getting close to completion!

Again, thanks so much and please keep your observations coming. This is VERY helpful!

Re: LoTW clarification

Scott Davis

Hi Ed,

Good Question, in a nutshell it works like this:

- You request a download from LoTW.

- All the records requested from LoTW are displayed in the
list box at the lower part of the LoTW form.

- At the same time, your log records are reviewed and confirmed when the date/time/band criteria are met. Any additional fields such as county, grid etc, are also populated.

- If a record is encoutered that doesn't have a match, ACLog lets you know and asks whether you want to add records or not.

- If you choose No, additional records are not added.

- If you choose Yes they are. You can then close the LoTW form and the added records will be at the top of the main form list. You can review the records from the main form and delete any if you like.

Hi Neil,

Thanks for your comments. Keep in mind that ACLog will let you know
if it has found additional QSO's in the LoTW download and gives you
the option of adding them. You have control over whether they are
added or not.

I mentioned this bug in passing before thinking it was just a minor
annoyance, but I've since realized that Download All Data has cleared
all of the QSL "R" columns for the hundreds of contacts that do not
have a LOTW match. I was scratching my head why I couldn't get my

Zone Bug?

Scott Davis

Hi All,

I have been trying to duplicate the possible zone problem without success. Whether by upgrade, ADIF import or ACLog import, if the zones were two digit in version 2.4 they come over as two digit in 2.5.

If anyone has experienced the 01 - 09 digit zones coming over as 1 to 9, please double check to verify that they were indeed 2 digit in 2.4. If you are sure that they were, please let me know the method by which you brought your log file over.

Remember, if the zones were already 1 digit zones (1 - 9 ) in 2.4, they will stay one digit when transferred.

Hi Ed,

No, if you want to add comments you will have to go to the DX spotting screen and post from there. I decided against it so that we wouldn't have to click through a "post comments" box every time we enter a contact.

Hi Jim,

Did you download the fix that I posted this morning in response to your earlier e-mail? I believe the deselection of QSL Received for QSO's confirmed by cards when downloading all from LoTW has been corrected.

Below is the excerpt from my previous response:

Bug #5: Jim, KB9DNA Reports: "The standard QSL R does not seem to stick through LOTW "All Data" downloads that haven't been confirmed. For example, I have a QSL card and check QSL R as well as put a 'C' in the R Conf By column. When I do an "All Data" download, the 'C' stays there but the QSL R is removed."

Bug #5: Status: Jim, GREAT catch, thank you. I have corrected that problem (and incorporated your other two suggestions). If you already have 2.5 installed The latest .exe file can be downloaded by clicking on this link:

Hi Mickey,

There is not a way to turn the "real time" off. Keep in mind that the entire field is selected when it gets the focus so you don't have to stop and clear the field. Just start typing the new date or time and the default information will disappear. It doesn't require any additional key strokes or mouse clicks.

Hi Radhames,

Please consider version 2.5 a beta until the bugs are worked out. So far, it looks like most of them are getting nailed down pretty well. I'll let you know when it looks like 2.5 is really "finished".

You can keep the program from automatically entering a "time off" value by clicking the button above the field so that it reads "Manual".

Dave Rozzana <dave@...>

Scott,

Just wanted to mention that the zone issue works fine in v2.4. Only v2.5
shows multiple zones, 8 and 08 etc., incorrectly.
Looking into it further, however, there may be an issue with the import of
the v2.4 data into v2.5. When I look at the data in v2.4 I only have two
digit zones. v2.5 has included some single digit zones, for whatever reason,
from the same data.
Probably talking out of turn, but perhaps that is what happened (on a larger
scale) with the gent who had trouble with Awards....your bug #3.

Keep in mind that only discrete entities will be filled. For example, the USA has multiple zones so they will not be included.

ACLog 2.5 Beta Bug Report Status 2

Scott Davis

Hi All,

Another issue has come to light:

Bug #5: Jim, KB9DNA Reports: "The standard QSL R does not seem to stick through LOTW "All Data" downloads that haven't been confirmed. For example, I have a QSL card and check QSL R as well as put a 'C' in the R Conf By column. When I do an "All Data" download, the 'C' stays there but the QSL R is removed."

Bug #5: Status: Jim, GREAT catch, thank you. I have corrected that problem (and incorporated your other two suggestions). If you already have 2.5 installed The latest .exe file can be downloaded by clicking on this link:

http://n3fjp.ky1v.com/ACLog.exe

Just replace the existing file in c:\program files\aclog 2.5 with the file that you download above.

As of 10:15 AM Eastern 11/11/03 I have also uploaded a new installation package with the same corrections.

So, bugs 1 and 5 I believe are corrected, bug 4 will be addressed in the future but is not specific to ACLog 2.5. The remaining active issues that have come to light so far are:

- Bug #2: The time Window for recognizing a confirmed contact (currently set at 15 minutes) form LoTW downloads. FYI, if not found it is added to your log as a new contact.

- Bug #3: The Worked All Calculations not showing data in the list. I have a suspicion that this may be a specific problem to one log since I have not received any other reports.

Again, thanks so much and please keep your observations coming. This is VERY helpful!

Re: LOTW Question

Hello Scott:
Each call sign AND each location needs a different key for the LOTW to work properly.

Hello gang,

I want to d/l Scott's new version of the logbook, but was curious if I can do the LOTW because some of my qso's were from my old callsign, and several from my new one that was issued last Tuesday. Will I have to upload them in 2 different stages, or does it matter? I don't want to attempt anything until I know the answer to this.

Thanks in advance.
