Hi Dick,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I've had lots of great reports and you are the only person to have reported a problem with 6.4, so I suspect something else is at play in your case.  Make sure you have the correct user name and password, that your protection software isn't clamping down on AC Log, etc.

Thanks so much for the good reports, your kind words, support and encouragement all!  Kimberly and I really appreciate it!

There have been no changes to the icon and it looks the same here, so not sure why that would be, other than guessing .Net 4.5 is displaying it differently.

Thanks again!

In studying the output a little bit more since my note - it appears
that for users of Windows you need Internet Explorer 11 or greater or
the newer Microsoft Edge browser. If you are running Windows XP with
IE 6, Vista with IE 7 or Windows 7 with IE 8-10 it will not work.

For those having issues, please check what version of IE is installed
by clicking Help -> About. If the version is 10 or less, your computer
is out of date and will not work with LoTW and many other sites that
are trying to improve their security posture.

Hi All,

Amateur Contact Log 6.4 is Now Available!

Just today, 10/15/18, ARRL implemented a new security protocol on their web site that I originally understood would only affect AC Log users on now unsupported operating systems (XP and Vista users).  It quickly became evident that all users of my software, regardless of operating system, could no longer download LoTW data from within AC Log.

Thanks to my genius son, Chris, KB3KCN, (who knows much more about Internet security than I do) and in cooperation with ARRL, we have upgraded AC Log's LoTW download code so that it will work with ARRL's new system.

To continue to be able to download from LoTW, please go ahead and follow these instructions here:

As always, upgrades are free to registered users!

Thanks so much for your patience and cooperation as we diagnosed and resolved the unexpected anomaly!

Enjoy!

And in response to the questions we always receive when we neglect to include the following in our e-mail announcements...

Package Upgrade Information...

If you have registered one or more individual programs and would like to upgrade to N3FJP's Software Package for full use of all our Amateur Radio software, we would be glad to apply the amount that you have registered so far as a credit towards that purchase. Please send us an e-mail directly and we'll let you know your balance.

N3FJP's Software Package includes more than one hundred programs for contesting, net management and general logging Amateur Radio applications. In addition to full use of all these programs, registered package customers are also entitled to receive free passwords for any new software that is added to the package and free upgrades to existing programs. Hi Mark and All,

Thanks to my genius son Chris, KB3KCN, (who knows much more about Internet security than I do) we think we found a way to make AC Log's LoTW download work with ARRL's new system.  The good news is, within AC Log, it only required one additional line of code.  The more significant unknown is that I had to change the .Net framework that AC Log runs on from 4.0 to 4.5.

Please uninstall AC Log 6.3 from your Add / Remove Programs in Windows Control Panel and then give 6.4 Beta a try:

Please try all the functions.  I did a quick run through here, all worked well and everything should be fine, but getting additional confirmation will be reassuring.  Lots of folks are very eager for this, so your quick testing will be very much appreciated!

Please let me know how you make out!
