Re: Where is HamLog.log hiding in 2.8?

W3UIO <amishbuggy37@...>

TNX, Scott.
It's saving in the 2.7 directory which I haven't
deleted yet.

I thought I had followed the 2.8 upgrade instructions,
but had to open the HamLog.log file from 2.7.

I will overwrite it to 2.8 and hope that it starts
saving to v 2.8.

I upgraded from 2.7 to 2.8 and added a new contact,
then closed ACLog. For some reason my two file
managers still report zero K for the HamLog.log, and
I
don't see a .bak file, yet the program shows my new
contact when I start 2.8.

This is probably something stupid I am overlooking.

Wyoming trip

Edward Leicester <kg4qmi@...>

I'd like to ask a question to the group pertaining to airline travel and ham gear. Are there any special consderations I need to know. I'll be flying NWA from RDU to MN and then over to Casper. I intend to take an HF rig in an airline approved case. Its actually a doskocil pistol case and will go onboard with me. Periphreal eq will be split between baggage and carry on.

As far as the trip, I will be in WY from the 23-29, partly in Casper and partly in Cheyenne. Since I'm not sure about the locations I  will be staying at, I'm not sure I will be able to set up. But if I do, listen for W4RVZ/W7 on 40m phone...and CW too....maybe!! It will be around 10pm WY until midnght.

And thanks for any advice and BTW, please respond direct if Scott deems it appropriate.

Re: Exporting ADIF from Lux-Log (move to ACLog)

Larry,

If the log will export to a .txt file (i.e comma delimited) then I have a
spreadsheet that I created that will allow you to import the data from the
txt file and will convert it over to ADIF format. If you would like to give
the spreadsheet a try e-mail me and I'll send it to you. You'll need Excel
to use it though.

I've got a friend who has been using Lux-Log which has not been
satisfactory. I have been bugging him to try ACLog and he finally checked
out the web site and downloaded the product.

However, He has not been able to export his files from Lux-Log. It tells him
the export is being done, but he can't find the ADIF file where he told it
to go, and search doesn't turn it up either. Says there's no way he's going
to enter all that again.

Anyone here have any experience in saving that file from Lux-Log? Questions
on their reflector turn up nothing.

Hi Royce,

Thanks for the information and helping to fight the good fight!  As most everyone here knows, I have submitted several comments on the FCC's Electronic Comment Filing System against BPL interference.

Fighting BPL absolutely IS on topic for all of us who enjoy and hope to preserve Amateur Radio.  If we want to help protect Amateur Radio, we each need to be vocal on this issue at every opportunity!

Our voices are helping to slow BPL's deployment, and the further it falls behind the less likely it will catch on.  Grab your keyboard, pen or phone and keep the pressure on!

The Alpha (i.e. ARRL, RAC) is showing in the QSO/MULT area in the copy
I am using.

The contest software expects to see zones in the "ZONE" entry - DUH!
But many, many of these "HQ" stations are providing alpha chars
instead of zone numbers - like "ARRL" and "IARU" etc. What will such
entries do to the score?

When you look at QSO/MULT in the band sections (off to the lower
right on the screen), nothing shows up for the alpha entries.

Does this software need some kind of revision, or have the rules
changes nullified automated attempts at a logging program?
