CW keying speed changes for no reason

Mel Granick

For the past three years I have been successfully using a USB cw keying cable that incorporates a WINKEY 1 ver. 10 chip to send cw in N1MM+ through my Kenwood TS590s.

The last time I operated in a cw 'test in February, it worked just fine.

But when I tried to use it this weekend in the CQWW DX CW Contest, N1MM+ would not maintain the cw speed setting.

For example, if I set the speed to "30" it would --for no apparent reason-- "loose" that setting and revert to the minimum setting of "10" ... sometimes even in the midst of sending a cw macro.

Can anyone suvvest why this might be happening?

A possible solution?

Any assistance you can provide would be much appreciated.

I keep my dial at 12 o clock on win keyer

And just use software in N1mm( page up and down on keypad)

If I don’t the speed will change from 30 to 55 or more
