Re: IC-9700 does not send CW

Andy

All the time I'm trying to run the cw control from N1MM + to my IC-9700 only when connecting to USB without success.
I also changed port's com drivers without success. Error messages suggest improper handling of the RTS line in N1MM +. I do not have the knowledge to tell you with certainty.
I used my old DQRLog logging program and it handles cw sending well.
Is there anyone who sends cw from N1MM + to IC-9700 without error.

Full Setup Instructions fo new version of IC7610 Spectrum Display

ART W2NRA

Help,

I have been asked how to setup the new N1MM Logger+ version of the IC7610 Spectrum Display from scratch.  I did the setup over many months as the different pieces were added.

I do realize that this is a brand new feature and still evolving, so please forgive my way to early request. Is there such instructions available?  My setup is working perfectly but I don't remember how I did it.

Just some of the questions I've been getting:

1. Is firmware update 1.20 required?
2. Is the second USB cable required?
3. What other software is also required?
4. I had previously installed HDSDR.  Did that add the required software for the new N1MM Logger+ version?
4. Is the ExtIO dll required? (I don't think so)
5. Is the FTDI dll required? (I think so)

I'm sure there are many more questions that would be answered with setup instruction.

Thank you, Guys, for a beautiful piece of software.

1. Is firmware update 1.20 required?   I recommend the latest firmware, whatever it is. My testing has been with 1.20.
2. Is the second USB cable required? Yes.

FQP mode issue

Steve Maki

Playing around in the FQP. Set up for CW+SSB.

Logger is reading freq & mode from radio just fine.

But contacts are all being logged as CW, even when mode is SSB.

Gotta be something simple...

Re: FQP mode issue

1. Make sure the Mode category in the Contest Setup dialog includes both modes.

2. Check the setting in the Configurer under Mode Control. For example, if the setting is "follow band plan", the mode logged will depend on the frequency and will ignore the radio's mode.

Thanks, for some reason Mode Control was set to "Always CW".

Not sure what scenario would require that, but I'm good now.

Much thanks.

Plus sends F3 msg + [log QSO]

danzee

I sat down a new station with N1MM and found that the Plus key did not send F3+log that I am accustomed to at home and everywhere else I operate.
I searched the documentation with no luck. How can I turn on that function or program the Plus key to do it?
Please don't advise me to use ESM. That's not the solution. TNX.

Did you mean the apostrophe key?
' - Send End of QSO message and enter in log

AutoHotKey can remap keys.

Also look at the Configuration / Function Key / Keycode of TU/Log Key substitute

Hiding Unworkable Spots

I thought there was an option to hide unworkable spots in the bandmap but I can’t find it.  Help

OK, I apologize if this shows up multiple times....tried to post it and it doesn't seem to be going.
The option you want is in the Telnet settings (I think)

Re: Hiding Unworkable Spots

Riki, K7NJ

Click on "Config" on the top tool bar.  Nine lines down from the top there is a line that says "Show Non-Workable Spots and Dupes in Bandmap". Make sure that this is NOT checked. If it is, then uncheck it.

wl_cty.dat

I got following attached message. See attachment.
It deals with a wl_cty.dat file and I don't know what to do.
It seems that I should install the same version on both computers.
Is this right? Where do I find them? What is the difference between
the files and which one would be the right?

Re: IC7610 owners: Limited time offer - Ends today!

Tom Wagner (N1MM)

To all IC7610 owners.  I am returning my borrowed 7610 to Icom after Tuesday's build. If you have a pressing issue, let me know NOW.

I found a pretty good workaround for the 7610 touchscreen problem when running two I/Q spectrums.  If you want to do something on the touchscreen, turn off Dual Watch with the Dual-W button, make your touchscreen selections, and turn Dual-W back on.

The new Spectrum is working great on both VFOs.  I just got my IC-7610
back and thought I'd give it a try even though I had no setup
instructions.  This morning I downloaded the new N1MM Logger+ update.  I set each VFO to
IC7610 I/Q via FTDI.dll.  I set the 2 Spectrum windows to vertical (like
bandmaps).

Use the "Tools > Download and Install latest country file (wl_cty.dat)" menu item in each copy of N1MM+.
