Re: Winkeyer 3.01.02 keying FSK RTTY with Winkey KEY2

John N0TA

I mostly got mine to work just prior to the NS RTTY Sprint. Still have some tweaking to do.I think I can send CW out of WinKeyer Key 1, and RTTY out of WinKeyer Key2. The BIG thing I discovered is that you cannot have macros (like {ENTERLF} or {CLEARRIT}) inside the {TX} ... {RX}. Still have some testing to do on Function Key messages.

I think the task now is to figure out which FSK interface to use: W3YY, TinyFSK, or WinKeyer.

Thanks Steve for the hints,

John.

I did not translate any of the  {ENTER} type macro’s yet as Winkey only recognizes one character. Instead of using the {ENTERLF} macro just place a } in its place and Winkey will send a CR routine.

Hey Guys,

When testing out method #3 in the advanced search function:

“METHOD 3: Put the text in quotation marks ” ” to search for pages on the website that contain THIS EXACT expression:

Well when I searched ‘"Print to file – Print the score summary to a file."’ It didn’t work.

But when I searched it without the quotation marks it worked fine.

AFAIK, the IC7700 does not support keying through its own USB cable.

A winkey compatible keyer is the recommended way to interface.

If you use a USB-to-serial adapter and transistor interface, make sure the adapter is FTDI, NOT Prolific.

Newbie digital contesting question

I am fairly new to contesting and am having troible with RTTY/CW contests due to speed. I have seen a simulated contesting software associated with WriteLog and wondered if anyone had used it and any reviews especially when using it with N1MM????

I have not found anything on the N2MM site that offers beginner help. Any suggestions are appreciated!

CTL-H, then type the county abbreviation in the callsign field.

Should you do a county line operation (I understand that’s not your situation) type “COUNTYLINE” in the callsign field.

Re: Newbie digital contesting question

Contest simulators designed to work with other logging programs will not necessarily work with N1MM+. Each logging program has its own interface for interoperation, and often these interfaces are not mutually compatible.

For CW, there is a special version of VE3NEA's Morse Runner contest simulation program available that interoperates with N1MM+. The instructions for using this are in the manual on the Configurer page (<http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-index.php?page=Configurer&structure=N1MM+Logger+Documentation#Other_Tab_Field_descriptions> on the old web pages, or <https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com/n1mm-manual/the-configurer/#other-tab> on the prototype new pages under test) - look for the check box called "MorseRunner Mode". The special version of the Morse Runner program can be downloaded from the Additional Support Files gallery at <http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-list_file_gallery.php?galleryId=5>.

There is no equivalent for RTTY that comes immediately to my mind.

URGENT: Logs wanted for next release of SuperCheckPartial

Stu K6TU

Hi Folks!

I am planning to release a new version of the Super Check Partial database files on May 2nd, 2019. I am requesting your logs for input to the database files. Please send your logs for this release by noon PDT May 1st, 2019.

If you would like to contribute your CABRILLO format logs for the SCP database, please send them at any time to:

logs@...

You can send more than one log attachment in a single email BUT PLEASE DON’T SEND THEM IN A ZIP file!

Please DO NOT SEND ADIF encoded logs…
Please DO NOT SEND your N1MM+ database files...
Please DO NOT SEND your 3830 score submission emails...

If there is a new contesting call sign you want added to the database for activity in the next few months, let me know before the next update cutoff time. Please send your requests for adds/deletions etc. in an email to logs@... WITHOUT ANY ATTACHED logs otherwise the email robot will process the logs automatically and your request will not be seen.

However... note that the monthly SCP database gets about 1500 downloads per month. This suggests that the majority of contesters are using an old version of the database probably between 12-18 months out of date. As a result, there is little utility in adding a call that you intend to use in only one or two contests.

At any time, please attach in an email the same Cabrillo format log that you submitted to the contest sponsor and send it to

logs@...

I have all logs submitted since the last release of the database files on April 2nd, 2019 and today - If you have already sent me your logs, there is no reason to send them again.

Logs from any contest within the last 24 months are always appreciated.

Some of the more commonly submitted logs are from:

CQ WW DX - CW, Phone, RTTY
CQ WPX - CW, Phone, RTTY
CQ 160M - CW, Phone
ARRL DX - CW, Phone
ARRL Sweepstakes - CW, Phone
ARRL RTTY Roundup
ARRL 10M
ARRL 160M
IARU Radiosport
Russian DX Contest
Worked All Europe - CW, Phone, RTTY

NOTE: NAQP logs are particularly under-represented in the log pool as are other contests where the manager now requires submission via a web form. Logs from these contests are especially requested!

Thanks for your help!

I doubt the CSS script will. Especially if you want to use its unique features like station overlays on bandmaps and SO2R scripts.
OTH one can use the Writelog demo version to run I beleive two or more contests with CSS. Works really fine.
With N1MM you can use morserunner. Works very fine in SO1V mode. SO2R is much trickier.

Ozcan, I'm happy to help you with this if I can, but need some more information about your setup.  Are you using a separate keyer, such as Winkey?  If not, what is the communication between your computer and the radio - USB?  Are you trying to key CW using the RTS or DTS lines on the (virtual) COM port?  Was your PSK and RTTY work done using audio from the computer, or were you switching something on the radio?

ROVERQTH but there are several methods available listed below.

John, K3CT

http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-index.php?page=Setup+QSO+Parties+-+CW+and+SSB&structure=N1MM+Logger+Documentation#Rover_Mobile_and_County_Line_Support

The operating location or RoverQTH can be set:

  • in the Station Data window, RoverQTH box. This box will automatically update when you use any of the other methods of setting RoverQTH below.
  • by right clicking on the county or grid in the Multiplier window and selecting "Set RoverQTH"
  • by typing CTRL+H
  • or by typing ROVERQTH in the Entry Window callsign box and pressing Enter. This opens a window to input the county designator, typically 3 or 4 characters.

The new Spectrum is working great on both VFOs.  I just got my IC-7610

instructions.  This morning I downloaded the new N1MM Logger+ update.  I set each VFO to
IC7610 I/Q via FTDI.dll.  I set the 2 Spectrum windows to vertical (like
bandmaps).
