adif import problem

Vic Lindgren G4BYG

Hello all,

I don't seem able to import a copy of an adif file from DXkeeper or Log4OM  into N1MM+.

I have set up a new DB and configured for FOC_80AC

When I try to import the file I get an ADIF Import Error as follows "This file must be imported into a contest of type:

FOC-80-ANIVERSARY"

What am I doing wrong ??

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, in the grid square is it the locator (imported from the WSJT-X adif file).
If I write the qso data with the grid to the log no problem, just if I imort from the adif file
I attach a picture with some imported QSO. The top 2 qso is not imported. i wrote to the log.

Yuri,

Bearing and Distance information is not stored, but derived from the Prefix (country) or GridSquare information.

Perform your ADIF import (to which contest type in N1MM?). Select a contact in the Log Window. Right-click on that record, >Edit Contact. Check the Grid field. Is the GridSquare information available?

Re: adif import problem

N1MM+ does a check against the CONTEST_ID ADIF field to ensure that it matches with the contest log you are importing the QSOs into. If your ADIF file from the other logging program does not include the CONTEST_ID field, you could do an edit from <EOR> to <CONTEST_ID:17>FOC-80-ANIVERSARY <EOR> - or, if what you quoted was a typo and it was really FOC-80-ANNIVERSARY, then edit from <EOR> to <CONTEST_ID:18>FOC-80-ANNIVERSARY. The text that comes after the > is whatever text N1MM+ is looking for for that particular contest type, and the number before the > is the number of characters in that text. Do this as a global replace, i.e. replace every <EOR> in the file with <CONTEST_ID:... <EOR> using a text editor.

Rich,

I cant get that far. As soon as I load the file the error message appears and I cant go further.

Rather odd as I can import adif files into other N1MM+ contest configs but not the FOCAC 80th Aniversary one.

Any further clues ??

Thanks for your time.

Vic,

There are two almost identically named threads running in parallel. My message that you responded to was my response to HA4FB, not my response to you.

My response to you was that you have to edit the ADIF file with a text editor in order to add the needed CONTEST_ID field before trying to import it into N1MM+. I believe the correct field is <CONTEST_ID:17>FOC-80-ANIVERSARY , which needs to be added to every QSO record. The easiest way to do this is to use a text editor to change the final <EOR> in each record to add the appropriate CONTEST_ID field before the <EOR>. Notepad and other text editors will let you do this as a global change, i.e. Edit > Replace > Replace All.

My opinion,

When you put QSO details manualy ,N1MM+ program calculate neccessary things(km,points, mults etc.).

But if you import adif from other LOG,it just import details you transfer.

Did you try after import to recalculate?

Myself, when I import a contest LOG adif from other program into N1MM,it does not calculate automaticaly the points-mults-score,then I recalculate and vuala there they are!

Try it.

Re: MORTTY Working

Jim Sharp

Using the [  ]  / in a terminal program work as they should,

But with N1MM set up with tinyfsk for both K3 radios in SO2R, (no problem with SO1V) the radio
number 2  has a leading and following diddle or varying length with any function commands from N1MM.  Diddle is turned off in both instances of MMTTY.  I've swithched radios and MORTTY units with no difference. Also re-programmed the fsk slices for both MOTTRY units.

Any ideas about stopping the diddle on radio 2

Thanks,  Jim - W5AP

Re: MORTTY Working

Jim Sharp

Just to let  you know I finally got both MORTTY units working with SO2R and N1MM+. without the diddles.

The solution was with setting up N1MM.  That is - in the configurer, I had to make sure "allow exit interrupts" was not checked in the Hardware setup. But mainly to get Dueling CQ working, I found that with the CQ function message I was using for testing  {TX}{ENTER}CQ ARRTY W5AP W5AP CQ {RX}{CLRRX} I had to set the SO2R dueing CQ delay greater than 5 seconds.  Less than 6 seconds caused the "dueling cq" to go off, and I'm guessing let the ptt or something engaged just long enough to throw the K3 into diddle mode (just like when sending fsk with paddle keying) Although thats a guess. Longer CQ messages might require longer than 6 second delay times to work right - I didn't test . So when I put in 6 seconds, it alternated rig CQs without delay or diddles as I wanted. Longer delay times did delay the switching - which is what Im guessing was its intent.  This might warrant a bug report....I don't know.  Or at least an explanation as to the use (and warning) of the SO2R Dueling CQ time delay (at least with K3's)

Hope this helps

[Edited Message Follows]

Just started using 7174 but can see with .6989 as well. CWGet stand-alone works fine and can run at same time.  Using FLdigi is ok on both versions.
When the CW reader window opens in N1MM get a text box and bottom half of CWGet but gives "out of system resources" message.
 Thanks for help, Russ K5OA

Hi Rick, it is in Program Files (x86) been there for life of the PC.  I have it running stand alone and works fine and has in past right in N1MM.
Today was get testing for next weekend and it started this.  This PC is looks like good resources and lots o memory etc.

Do not know where to look.  Did a I/O Bit power uninstall on N1MM and did full load and then came up on .6989 and saw same thing. then upgraded to latest 7174.

Re: Out of resources opening CW reader CWGet

Moved it to D:\Data\CWGET and get the same thing, will reboot and try again.

Re: Out of resources opening CW reader CWGet

The program is running stand alone and the N1MM is asked to open RX decoder window and here is the screen shot again.
This is my remote site so going home tomorrow but can test later in the week it you do see anything wrong.
