Re: Can I program "Crtl K" on a function key?

Hi Bill & John
Thanks again for replying. I'm a bit reluctant to introduce another program (AHK) as a work around. may be one of the future releases will allow e.g. the macro {CTRL+K} and who knows, may be the chat window switches automatically to receive mode as well. I hope both wishes are worth your consideration to become features.

Re: N1MM+ Spectrum Display not appearing on my Flex 6600

John Holmes W9ILY

Tom,
On your Spectrum display be sure to check the Associated Radio (mine is #1) and the Spectrum Source (should be your Flex radio). The Spectrum in N1MM should automatically populate these but sometimes I have to manually select the Source.
Good luck

Hi Doug, it's when you run stations... N1MM will keep track... i.e. if you are calling CQ and working stations on the same frequency... If you don't run any stations and are only in S&P mode, you won't see anything interesting in the View->Runs window. ;)  Here is the output from my NAQP effort in January... Max NG7M

View/Run window in N1MM+

Douglas Smith

I can't find the answer to this question anywhere in the documentation.  How does N1MM+ define a "run" for the data found in the View/Run window?  When does a "run" start, and what ends it for program purposes?  W7ZZ

URGENT: Logs wanted for next release of SuperCheckPartial

Stu K6TU

Hi Folks!

I am planning to release a new version of the Super Check Partial database files on June 2nd, 2018. I am requesting your logs for input to the database files. Please send your logs for this release by noon PDT June 1st, 2018.

If you would like to contribute your CABRILLO format logs for the SCP database, please send them at any time to:

logs@...

You can send more than one log attachment in a single email BUT PLEASE DON’T SEND THEM IN A ZIP file!

Please DO NOT SEND ADIF encoded logs…

If there is a new contesting call sign you want added to the database for activity in the next few months, let me know before the next update cutoff time. Please send your requests for adds/deletions etc. in an email to logs@... WITHOUT ANY ATTACHED logs otherwise the email robot will process the logs automatically and your request will not be seen.

However... note that the monthly SCP database gets about 1500 downloads per month. This suggests that the majority of contesters are using an old version of the database probably between 12-18 months out of date. As a result, there is little utility in adding a call that you intend to use in only one or two contests.

At any time, please attach in an email the same Cabrillo format log that you submitted to the contest sponsor and send it to

logs@...

I have all logs submitted since the last release of the database files on May 2nd, 2018 and today - If you have already sent me your logs, there is no reason to send them again.

Logs from any contest within the last 24 months are always appreciated.

Some of the more commonly submitted logs are from:

CQ WW DX - CW, Phone, RTTY
CQ WPX - CW, Phone, RTTY
CQ 160M - CW, Phone
ARRL DX - CW, Phone
ARRL Sweepstakes - CW, Phone
ARRL RTTY Roundup
ARRL 10M
ARRL 160M
IARU Radiosport
Russian DX Contest
Worked All Europe - CW, Phone, RTTY

NOTE: NAQP logs are particularly under-represented in the log pool as are other contests where the manager now requires submission via a web form. Logs from these contests are especially requested!

Thanks for your help!

N1MM+ Spectrum Display not appearing on my Flex 6600

Tomw4tmw

I'm looking for some help to get the N1MM+ Spectrum Display to work. I've never used N1MM+ and want to try it out for general logging
but more importantly to use it's spectrum display and spotting capabilities.

First, I setup the logging section which is working fine, but ran into trouble when the Spectrum Display would not populate (the noise floor and
waterfall areas are blank). As far as I can tell, I've input all the correct info.

I've read the section of the setup section of the manual  and watched about every video I could find about the interface.  I did find some good
info in the FlexRadio Community but none of the different things I tried have worked. I have Flex's SmartCAT working and indicating N1MM+ as it should.

I think my problem might be somewhere in the radio naming and/or radio selecting section of N1MM+.

I don't plan to use Winkey since I use mechanical keys, but set it up anyway, thinking it was somehow required as part of the process.

Thanks for any help,
Tom

When we upgraded the site earlier this month to use HTTPS, we ran into an unexpected problem with the automated install process.  To solve that issue, we backed off on the HTTPS upgrade and secured a code-signing certificate to overcome the problems we had.  You should be seeing dialog boxes that identify the publisher of the program as Thomas Wagner, rather than an unknown publisher. I would have preferred to have it marked N1MM, but I tried that last time, and it is way more work that it is worth. A benefit of this change is that you can now install the program from any source you get it from, and if it has my name on it, you know it came from us and is unmodified.  This will only apply to installers we create from this point on, over time, the need to install old versions will disappear.

K8UT is in the process of testing the new signed code with HTTPS.  All should go smoothly, and you should see very little change except for the S added to HTTP in the URL once he completes the upgrade.

Re: Scope question (was: Can I program "Crtl K" on a function key?)

ve3ki

James (call sign unknown):

You haven't had a response yet, probably because more information is needed before we can figure out what it is you really need.

To start with, you posted this message in response to a reply from Bill to Holger about remapping function keys in the context of the CW sending (Ctrl+K) window. In that context, what do you mean by "scope"? I can't think of anything relevant.

I imagine that what you really meant to do was to post a new message on a new thread with a new title. Taking this as given, I still have to ask: what is meant by "scope"? It helps to use the same terminology as the program developers use, as standardized terminology makes explaining things a lot easier. I did a search for "scope" in our 882-page manual (latest PDF version) and found three potential subject areas. There were a couple of references to the spectrum scope function on the front panel of some transceivers, or in the case of Flex radios, in the controlling software program. There were references to RTTY tuning scopes (X-Y or spectrum). And, the word "scope" appears as a part of a couple of longer parameter names that are used in the UDP packets that some SDR programs use to send spectrum data to N1MM+. Perhaps none of these is really what you meant, but I have no way of knowing that (yet).

If you mean the spectrum scope function on your transceiver's front panel, please tell us which transceiver you are using and what you are trying to do to get the scope to appear; that is probably not an N1MM+ question, but maybe another owner of the same radio can help.

If you mean one of the tuning scope displays for RTTY (or maybe other digital modes), please tell us which digital engine you are using and what does or does not appear (an all-black tuning display window, or no tuning display window at all). Fixing this is probably a simple matter of checking the right setup option in the digital engine (MMTTY or MMVARI or fldigi or ...).

If, as I suspect, you mean the N1MM+ Spectrum Display window, then: Have you consulted the documentation at
<http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-index.php?page=Spectrum+Display+Window&structure=N1MM+Logger+Documentation> ?
Which of the supported radio configurations in Section 1 on that web page are you trying to use? Is your radio an Icom 7300/7610/7850/7851? or a Flex 6000-series radio? If not, which SDR hardware and software are you using to generate the spectrum data that the Spectrum Display window will display? Without that information, it is hard to know where to start. Once we get down to that level of detail, someone will probably be able to help.

I can't help you with the other part of your question.  I meant to say you can remap to a single key, it doesn't have to be an F key.  I remap to the up & down arrow
keys for moving up or down in the band map and shift up or down to move between spots in the available window.
