Re: mmtty problem on n1mm+

I have a similar problem. MMTTY works just fine out of N1MM+ with the IC-7610. However, if you change from that to CW mode in a multimode contest, then go back to RTTY, you get only the carrier. You have to shut down N1MM+ , restart, then select RTTY mode ... then it works fine until you change modes ... problem repeats.

I can live with the inconvenient heresy of clicking "yes" to the question " Do you really want to quit ?" I figure it's something to do with those virtual ports, although I don't know why CW doesn't get screwed up

New Install and Trouble Getting Running

I have done a new fresh install of N1MM on a new computer and I am getting the following screen on startup any tips?

Sending stops after first character

Dave Sumner

Guys,

I think I've seen this problem mentioned before but I can't locate it in the archive.

Getting ready for CW WPX (as NW7R), sometimes when I hit a function key only the first character of the stored message or callsign is sent and then it appears to hang up. I can get out of it by hitting Escape but I'd rather not have to do that a few hundred times this weekend.

I was QRT for 9 days while on a road trip to Dayton and the Windows 10 update was done when I turned the computer back on. Rebooting doesn't seem to help. I'm running N1MM+ V.1.0.7177.0.

All help appreciated.

Re: DRCG RTTY Contest

Igor,

If the contest is "DRCGWWRTTY", you should see 6-Hour in the Time Category dropdown.

That is where the definition is documented in the Cabrillo Spec.

Subject: [N1MMLoggerPlus] DRCG RTTY Contest

Hi to all!
At 9-10 of June would be DRCG RTTY Contest that has 6-hours Category.
But N1MM+ has not that option.
Is it possible to add One?

Microsoft have made a significant (undocumented) change in sound card
handling with the Spring (April) Update.

You will now need to select PC Settings -> *PRIVACY* -> Microphone and
*TURN ON* "Allow apps to access your microphone".

The "Allow apps to access your microphone" now means "Allow apps to use
sound devices for input". What originally restricted access the mic
on the "System Default" sound card now applies to *all* audio inputs -
mic and line - and *all* audio devices. If "Allow apps to access your
microphone" is turned off, Windows will not pass audio to *any* application.

It appears that the new build (at least here) turns OFF the microphone feature under Win10 Privacy settings; turn it ON.  Device Maintenance shows that the sound card is working OK, but the microphone is turned off in another setting.  Now why that isn't mentioned in the sound card configuration for Windows 10 I guess I'll never know.

Re: Macro Question - {OTHERBAND} & {OTHERFREQROUND}

Steve London

The problem is that M/2 and M/M have become far more complex than the founding fathers ever conceived. Serious M/2 and M/M stations have multiple stations on every band. Which one should N1MM+ choose for the OTHERBAND and OTHERFREQ substitutions ?

2)  If they will QSY, giving the QSY frequency ("QSY 14.033") using the macro {OTHERFREQROUND}

When operating in SO2R mode the QSY frequency is automatically read from the second (inactive) radio.  When operating M/2 of M/M, apparently the pass frequency must manually be entered using the <ALT+Z> function.

My question is if when operating M/2 the OTHERBAND AND OTHERFREQ can be read from the ACTIVE frequency of the second station?

Re: N1MM+ Spectrum Display not appearing on my Flex 6600

Tomw4tmw

John,

Thank you for replying to my call for help.

I’m not sure I understand “Associated Radio”, where do I find that box? I see Radio 1 and some Icom radios, but they are grayed-out.

As for the “Spectrum Source”, mine box never automatically populated, so I tried manually typing in various names like "Flex-6600" or "FLEX 6600"
or "Radio 1 Flex 6600 Slice 1” (without the quotes). Where do I find the proper name and is it case sensitive?

FYI, the basic part of the N1MM+ program seems to work fine, TX and RX.

Again, thanks for any help you can provide, I was about to give up.

On your Spectrum display be sure to check the Associated Radio (mine is #1) and the Spectrum Source (should be your Flex radio). The Spectrum in N1MM should automatically populate these but sometimes I have to manually select the Source.

What I don’t understand is what starts a run in N1MM and what
stops it.  For example, in your first run, you had 162 Qs.  What
told the software that the first Q was the beginning of a run and
what told the software that the run was over?  Is it some preset
rate per minute?  Note that there are gaps in your times between
runs.  Were you not transmitting? Not making Qs fast enough to
trigger the program?  Those questions are what I was trying to get
at with my posting.

Thanks for your reply.  73 W7ZZ

The run starts when you switch from S&P into Run mode and you make your first qso. The run ends when you change frequency more than the tolerance amount or you start making qsos in S&P mode again.

Re: [Spectrum Display] Tx signal bleed-through on manual keying

Tom Wagner (N1MM)

The spectrum is stopped when the program knows the radio is in Tx.  If the program initiated the transmission, then it knows it is transmitting. If the operator initiates the transmission, we do not keep track of the rx/tx state.

I'll look at it.

When I key the radio with Logger (through a YCCC SO2R Box external keyer), while sending an F-key message, the spectrum and waterfall stop moving and I see no evidence of my tx signal on the displays; all as expected. But when I send with the paddle, through the same external keyer, the spectrum  and waterfall keep moving and I see strong signal bleed-through. This happens even when I disconnect the antenna from the Airspy HF+ SDR and even when I disconnect the pass-through loop between RX ANT IN and OUT, and even when I turn off RX ANT on the K3. I've configured the radio for both hardware and software PTT. On a connected P3, the display stops and there is no bleed-through with either keying technique. Any ideas?

Hi Bill & John
Thanks again for replying. I'm a bit reluctant to introduce another program (AHK) as a work around. may be one of the future releases will allow e.g. the macro {CTRL+K} and who knows, may be the chat window switches automatically to receive mode as well. I hope both wishes are worth your consideration to become features.
