Changing bands using mouse no longer works

FritzOAQ

Hey guys,

My buddy, K4ITV, tells me clicking a different band in N1MM+ no longer works.

Everything else works just fine. He can click a function key & it works. He can chg freq with xcvr dial & he sees freq chg in N1MM window.

Any ideas?

I have started on a file of known stations that will be QRV in the upcoming IOTA contest on 28 and 29 July 2018.

The list can be found at https://www.dropbox.com/s/pdrlzhbv1wpcm60/iota2018.txt?dl=0

The list is a copy from the call history file, I got from VE2FK. Claude is making updates for N1MM+ and so far I have only update a few Danish call signs.

If you are on an island during the IOTA contest in a week, please check the list and PLEASE DO SEND ERRORS AND UPDATES TO contest@...

Thank you.

Re: Help Please Soundcard

"Make sure the card you're using is the default." I disagree. You should make sure the card you are using is NOT the default, unless it is the only sound card in the computer, in which case you have no choice. Windows can do bad things with the default inputs and outputs, and with other inputs and outputs on the same physical sound card, such as disabling other inputs or outputs, messing with levels, turning on unwanted effects such as preamplifiers or automatic level control, and so on. As an illustration, on the Windows 10 laptop I am typing this on, the audio output level from the default sound card changes depending on whether one of the system-supplied apps is open or not, even when that other app is not the one that is using the sound card. The mere fact that the other app is open results in a change in the output level from the program that is using the sound card. You don't want that kind of nonsense going on.
When you first introduce a new sound card into the system, such as a codec inside a radio, Windows is likely to try to make it the default. You don't want that. Switch the Windows default back to your motherboard sound card, and then configure your digital mode software to use the specific (non-default) sound card you want it to use.

A lot of sound cards show up as a Windows High Definition Audio device if you have more than one.  Right click the little speaker icon down by the time and date, and verify that the gain settings are right.  Make sure your PTT is there, or if using VOX, that the VOX gain is set correctly.  You can ask me how I know about that. I am old enough to have logged on paper, then the early versions of CT, but the work afterwords was what killed the whole experience back then printing and mailing and shorting....ugh. Now it's so easy throughout the contest and afterwards.  A couple button clicks and I am DONE!

What mode and contest are you trying this with? I just tried using the {STACKANOTHER} macro in SSB and it placed the call on the stack and cleared the Entry Window.

Works like a charm!

Sorry guys for digging not deep enough into the manual.
I use RTS and DTR as recommended now. Still have to play with the audio levels though. Seems to be a little problem with the Win10 mixer.

Case closed, Andy happy :)

SOCALLSTACK works for me. Enter call and it pushes that call to the stack and clears the entry window.

Andy,

I don’t know of any radio with sound card or radio codec VOX. Our software uses radio command PTT to send voice messages with the radio codec.

To use the radio codec with computer wav files follow this document:

http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-download_file.php?fileId=685

To send commands to play voice messages stored in the radio use the commands found in the Logger+ manual.

Entry window Help menu, select Manual Index.

  Click Supported Radios.

  Click IC-7300.

Hey guys,

what do I need to transmit the wav files from the computer?

I know that there is a cat command for playing the internal (TRX) voice memos from the function keys, but does it work with the files from the computer, too?

Its set up already, but I cant get the TRX to key up. When I hit "Transmit" on the 7300, it transmits the wav from n1mm fine.

For CW I use RTS to key. So how (if at all) can I configure TRX and software to call CQ for me :) As far as I know, the VOX doesn't work on the internal soundcard.
Can I add a additional cat command to the F-key macro?

Thanks for any suggestions

Andy / DG7LAN

Re: IC7300 and Voice Files #IC7300 #n1mm

Tom Wagner (N1MM)

N1MM+: Set RTS to ptt in the radio set menu. You should use DTR to send cw. This is the default for contesting programs.

7300: Menu/Set/Connectors/USB Send/RTS

or use radio command in N1MM+ set menu to set ptt.
