Unable to reconfigure radio nr.2 as radio nr.1

Ira Lipton

My primary radio-an FT9000D-failed just in time for a self imposed isolation for Covid19. I have a second radio (an FT1000D) which is set as radio nr2. The 1000 is controlled via a Microham USB ll. I am attempting to reset the FT1000 as radio nr 1 (and delete the FT9000 until I can have it repaired). Even though I'm using the same configuration parameters, I am unable to have the FT1000 keyed by Winkey unless I revert to having it set as radio nr2 in SO2R. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Max..

I have looked at this numerus times but have never found the cause. N1MM talks to Gritty via a TCP connection and have not been able to get the 2 programs to stop talking to each other anytime I have tried. When you can’t duplicate something its hard to pin point things down to a certain cause.

I have reported this as an issue on the N1MM defect / feature tracking website, but thought I would see if anyone else has experienced this.  This has been an issue for me for a long time now.  I like to run multiple RTTY decoders like many of us do... I use 2Tone for my primary decoder and I like to run GRITTY as my second decoder.  This all works great as expected, but after GRITTY has been running for awhile... N1MM will just terminate out of the blue... 2Tone is left running and GRITTY is left running on the desktop.  There is nothing in the N1MM error log... N1MM just shuts down... I'm working stations and bam, N1MM terminates... or I walk away from the contest for awhile, I come back to the computer and N1MM has terminated.

Has anyone else experienced this?  An RTTY contest weekend... so here come the RTTY related posts. :)

Rich,

I have similar problem with UDC file for KTSCWC contest. It was working last few years, while on Friday it was not visible in Open New contest menu.

I just downloaded the NAQCC.udc file from the web site and stored it in the correct location, which on my computer is at C:\Users\[myusername]\Documents\N1MM Logger+\UserDefinedContests .

To check whether you have the right file, start Notepad. Then use Notepad's File > Open menu item, change the file type box at the lower right from "Text Documents (*.txt)" to "All Files (*.*)", navigate to your UserDefinedContests folder, find the NAQCC.udc file, and click on "Open". You should see a text file whose first line is [Author], followed by three lines of information, then [File] followed by three more lines, then [Contest], after which the next line should read Name =NAQCC . If your file doesn't look like that, then it was not downloaded correctly.

E-mail me your ham.s3db database. I'll pass it on to the rest of the team and see what we can do.

Ken,
The  message indicates that there is corruption in the database. If that is
true, then perhaps one of the N1MM+ developer gurus could help with that.
However, before doing that, can you confirm that the name of the database
file is correct. When using a default database name, the database file
should be ham.s3db
However, the error is complaining about a file called ham3..s3db which has
an extra dot in the name. Perhaps that has something to do with the problem.

Hi John,

I also use my IC-7610 in the same way.  I have no issues with CTRL-Down Arrow or CTRL-Up Arrow.  Could it be your keyboard?  Does it work ok if you use the other CTRL button.

Actually I used to use N1MM Logger+ your way, but I change to using 2 Spectrum Displays (one for each VFO) set up vertically like Bandmaps (with th IC-7610 no additional hardware or software is needed). This works just like band maps but I can see who is active. Besides the CTRL-Up-Down Arrow, I also use Shift-Up-Down to go to active signals.

John,
I expect that you have our software set to use the filter selection that is being set. It is set at the top of the Bandmap.

Re: Send CUT Numbers, but How to send repeats not with CUT Numbers

I just double-checked in the manual, and I see that Ctrl+G toggles the "Send cut numbers" option - so Ctrl+G, your repeat number function key, and Ctrl+G again should do it.

Janez,

Do you have SO2R or OTRSP Stereo macros in your function key messages? The Toggle Stereo option prevents these from executing.
