The udc file works fine here. Try re-downloading the file from <https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com/mmfiles/qrpfoxhunt-udc/>.

It sounds as if you may be using the Window > Digital Interface menu item instead of the Window > CW Reader menu item, or else the path to the fldigi program in the CW Reader window is misconfigured.

Use the Window > CW Reader menu item to open the CW Reader window. In the top left part of that window, select the Setup menu item. There is a "Path to Fldigi:" box where the path to the fldigi program must be entered. Use the Browse button to the right of that box to select the path to the fldigi.exe file. Click on the Save button.

Attachments are not conveyed in this group.

I just downloaded the QRPFoxHunt.udc file from the N1MM+ web site into my N1MM Logger+\UserDefinedContests folder, closed down N1MM+, restarted it, and selected File > New Log in Database... . The QRPFOXHUNT contest type now appears in the scrollable list of contest types, after QCWAQSO and before QSOPARTY.

Re: udc not showing in list

Yes. Do you have another log in that database with at least one QSO in it? If so, select that log. Now use the File > Generate Cabrillo File menu item. You will get a couple of prompts about the Sent Exchange and the entry category - just answer OK to both of them. A Windows File Save dialog will appear. Don't actually save the file, just take note of the path where it offers to save the file; in my case, that path is Documents > N1MM Logger+ > ExportFiles. Once you have noted what that path is, click on Cancel to exit the File Save dialog. The folder where the program will look for UDC files is a sister folder to that ExportFiles folder called UserDefinedContests - in my case, it is Documents > N1MM Logger+ > UserDefinedContests .

Telnet clusters rating

Vytenis LY5T

I didn't really understand how this works. I installed new version and see new dropdown box with servers listed, but they are listed by alphabet and not some rating.
If ratings are assigned to clusters - how can I see them? Can I sort by rating? How rankings are given? Or, is this list just a semi real time polled list of live servers?
Additional information will be appreciated.

Jamie,

If you have the Log window maximized on the right monitor, "Un" maximize it and manually resize it to close to or even the full screen size, but do not click on the Maximize button. There seems to be some strange Windows 10 issues with screen sizing and multiple monitors. I see this behavior here with 2 different size monitors.

Steve,

I checked the source code. The user directory that you specified during the full Installer execution is used to create the UDC directory and to load the UDC contests.

The UDC may be compressed into a *.zip file. If this is the case, the UDC will not be seen, uncompress the downloaded file.

John, yes, I did place the UDC file in C:\N1MM Logger+\UserDefinedContests.

As I mentioned before, the install folder was C:\N1MM Logger+. I had to put it there because the N1MM+ installer would not install N1MM+ in my Documents folder because it is controlled by OneDrive.

Re: udc not showing in list

As described at <https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com/getting-started/installing-and-upgrading-n1mm-logger/#first-time-installation-instructions>, N1MM Logger+ is installed in *two* locations.

The executable program files are installed by default at C:\Program Files (x86)\N1MM Logger+. There is no compelling reason I can think of to change this - it works for thousands of our users.

Files which might be written to either by the user or by the program itself are placed in a different location we call the "user files" area. By default, this is in your Documents folder/directory, at Documents\N1MM Logger+. There may be good reasons to choose a different location for the user files. For example, if your Documents directory is in OneDrive, the N1MM Logger+ "user files" area should be somewhere else on your local hard drive that is not automatically synced by OneDrive, because the OneDrive sync operation can scramble the program's database files.

User-defined contest files (.udc files) must be installed in a subdirectory in the "user files" area called UserDefinedContests. This is the only place the program will look for .udc files. Assuming your user files area is at C:\N1MM Logger+, the correct place to place .udc files would be C:\N1MM Logger+\UserDefinedContests.

If there is no UserDefinedContests subdirectory in your C:\N1MM Logger+ directory, then your user files area is probably somewhere else and you need to find it (e.g. by using any of the program's menu items that tries to open a file either for input or output and looking to see where the File Open or Save dialog starts out; it will be in one of the other subdirectories of the user files area).

Steve,

Did you place the UDC file in the UDC (UserDefinedContests) directory?

The program creates this directory in the N1MM user directory, not the program files directory.

Re: N1MM SSB TX Macro

John Bednar

Tom,

I don’t understand the application. The transmitter should unkey when the wav file ends and the PTT delays expire.

The program treats Empty.Wav string as an do nothing file and it does not need to exist.

The {TX} and {RX} macros will key and unkey the radio PTT.

Yes the version 6.7.6 driver works fine with Win10.

If you want experiment install the Windows 10 universal driver, let me know if it works OK. You should know that Windows could make it difficult to install a different driver. Many of us had that issue when we discovered the problems with version 6.7.5.
