Re: UDP Periodic Broadcasts

Chuck Green

Thank you Larry. In my case the available antennas and towers allows use of many different antennas. Some are usable on identical frequencies. Therefore, the antenna selection is manual and requires thought by the operator.  However, I do use UDP broadcasts to DESELECT an antenna if the antenna that is manually selected is not usable on the frequency the radio is set to.  A period of up to 10 seconds is quite long to deselect an antenna that is not appropriate for the frequency in use. It is not uncommon for the operator to start testing the setup well before the UDP broadcast "Kicks" the operator off of the antenna selected. I was hopeful that there was some level of control of the period of the UDP Broadcast for an idle VFO and if there is, what would the consequences if the period was, say, 3 seconds? That is, would all those UDP Broadcasts slow the whole system down?
At this time, use of the CAT port or an RS232 Bridge to get frequency from the CAT port is not a viable solution.

N1MM F-keys Not Keying Flex 6300

Fred - NA2U

I haven't used my Flex in about two years. I’m having a problem getting it going again on CW. It worked FB in BARTG RTTY over the weekend.

Keying with the paddle works fine. But, when I try to use the N1MM F-keys I get an error msg that it won’t send because no CW port has been selected on Config. I have COM10 checked for CW/other and in SmartSDR CAT COM10 is set for Winkeyer. The F-keys just won’t work. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Fred/NA2U

When you plug the WINKEYER USB
into the computer the WINKEYER simply responds with an R in slow
CW.  No need to do anything else.

My WINKEYER ALWAYS comes up on COM 4!

NOW...
You will need to go to CONFIG tab on
the top of the logging/operating
page,  select the top choice from the
drop down CONFIGURE PORTS...
CHOOSE one of the unassigned port lines
SELECT COM 4
CHECK CW/OTHER
CLICK on SET
IN THE COM 4 WINDOW
CHOOSE
DTR ALWAYS ON
RTS ALWAYS OFF
CHECK WINKEY BOX
CLICK OK

Select another port line for your radio if you have not done so already.

My K3 ALWAYS COMES UP ON
COM 3...

YVMV...

Good Luck.

If this has procedure has already been sent... Please excuse the BW!

Scratch that--I see you can key the radio manually, just not through N1MMLogger, so the line is likely fine.  Sorry-bad guess on that one.

You don't have any other keying program running like WK3DEMO do you?
