Experimental version for this weekend contests (RDAC, NAQP SSB)
Experimental version N1MM Logger+ Update 1.0.8573_RDAC.exe was just updated. It now has these fixes:
1. RDAC: updated RDAC.sec file (coded by NA3M)
2. Updated section files and Admin database import functions for some contests (0099,ANATOL,ARI,BFRRCHAMP,BRASIL,CISDX,DIK,HELVETIA,HOLYLAND,IOTA,JA,LZDX,RCC,RDACSPLO,RDACUA2,REF,RRTC,SAC,SCAND,XE,YEARS,YO,YV) (K3CT) (Coded by KU7T)
3. IOTA contest: fixed incorrect points for IOTA "EU5" (G4OGB) (Coded by NA3M)
4. Fixed Cabrillo output for multi-multi and multi-two for many contests (N5ZO) (Coded by N2IC)
The last one is important for NAQP SSB (this weekend) for multi-multi and multi-two stations.
If you already installed Experimental version for RDAC earlier yesterday or today and plan to use it for RDAC you do not need this updated version.

Re: Problems recording voice messages
ve3ki
The error message suggests something wrong with the filename. If you are recording using the on-the-fly method (Ctrl+Alt+Fx), that would be the filename in the function key message. You could paste your complete function key message file in a message here and maybe someone will see something.

Config - Logger Audio setup - Recording.. Do you have it all correct there?
It is not necessary to record messages on the fly. Even its better to record it with 3rd party programs like Audacity. This way you can control amplitude and precisely cut beginning and end of record. This also should solve you many kinds of errors. You will need to place recorded file somewhere C:\Users\LY5T\Documents\N1MM Logger+\Wav\XXXX Vytenis LY5T

Problems recording voice messages
Theo Marinos <marinos.theo@...>
Hi guys
I am having issues when trying to record certain messages. The one I really want to record is the F4 (my callsign) recording however I get an error that says “invalid recording filename, abort”.
I am also getting “WaveWriter error. Recording aborted” when trying to record some of the other messages however the most important one to me is the one above.
Any ideas?
Thanks Theo VK5IR

Re: Nothing displays in Spectrum Display window with Flex radio
Dick:
I have access to two Flex 6400'ds: 1 locally here in my shack and one at my club's station. Both are controlled over SmartLink. I have never been able to get the remote to display on the spectrum window in N1MM. I have no problems in getting the local one on my LAN to display on the N1MM Spectrum display window. Probably something having to do with the transport of the spectrum data via a routed WAN that is the issue. I will monitor this thread to see if there are any answers to your question. Lu W4LT

Re: Headings are off compared to the QRZ readings
John Bednar
Folks,
If there is exception for a callsign in the country file, the beam heading is computed using the country file zone information. In my country file K1KD (zone 4) and N3GWR (KH6) are two exceptions. When the last letter of these callsigns is entered, the beam heading is updated.
If a grid square is found for the callsign in the call history the beam heading is based on the grid square.
The text on the beam heading line should inform you if the calculation is regional based or grid square based.
Regional Heading is the least accurate especially when you enter an unknown callsign in your region (K9, N4, LY) because the heading is calculated to the center of the region.
Larry, please provide some callsign examples where you know beam heading is wrong. Vytenis and Pete are two long time power users and can explain the differences. Keep in mind that our beam headings are calculated from information that can be gathered from the callsign (center of call area, callsign exception, or grid square that you provide). Our software does not know the long/lat of every callsign.
John, K3CT

I think program should look up for this W7 station exception in cty.dat. If it exists, beam direction should be OK, If does not exist - not.

I may be off-base, but
I don't believe that MM does any lookup on particular stations,
so for example, a W7 in Florida will yield a severely out of
kilter heading 73, Pete N4ZR Check out the Reverse Beacon Network at <http://reversebeacon.net>, now spotting RTTY activity worldwide. For spots, please use your favorite "retail" DX cluster. On 8/13/2020 7:12 PM, Larry Schroeder

Version for RDAC 2020 with updated RDAC.sec file.
Unfortunately the updated RDAC.sec file did not make it in the latest official version of the logger (which is offered for installation automatically). Those who would like to have an updated list of RDA districts (info taken from here: https://rdaward.org/rda_rus.txt ) will have to install this version:
In RDAC it makes sense to use the CallHistory file, it makes it possible to see potential multipliers in the BandMap and Available windows. The updated CallHistory file for RDAC is located here (TNX Claude VE2FK): https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com/mmfiles/rdac-txt/
The logger colors the callsigns of Russian /P stations in red (and marks them as M3 in the Log window). This is done to facilitate the search for such stations - they give 10 points each. But according to the rules, such stations are not multipliers (unless they are located in the new RDA). This is important for Multi-One stations - when looking for a multiplier with a second transmitter (MULT radio), make sure that such /P station is really a multiplier, i.e. it should be colored not red but green like a double multiplier.
If for same reason the logger refuses to log some RDA number you can force it by using Ctrl-Alt-Enter.
73 and Good Luck in the contest!

Nothing displays in Spectrum Display window with Flex radio
Richard Burke
I'm unable to get the N1MM+
Spectrum Display window to show a spectrum. I see that this
situation has been reported in this discussion group before but
I haven't been able to find a solution that works for me. The situation is: Computer running Win 10 Pro
v2004. Flex 6000 series radio remotely controlled (remotehamradio.com). Smart SDR v3.1.12 is running as well as CAT and DAX. DAXIQ Channel 1 is selected in Smart SDR. In the DAX control panel, the IQ
Streams section shows the center frequency, a sample rate of
48000 and "streaming". N1MM+ v 1.0.8560.0 communicates with Smart SDR (freq and mode are good). Entry window title bar shows radio to be FLEX-6000 Series Slice 1. N1MM+ Spectrum Display window
shows Unamed Scope Spectrum (Radio 1) in title bar. If I
go to Spectrum Source / For all other radios, source named - it
just shows an empty entry box. I've tried entering FLEX-6000
Series and FLEX-6000 Series Slice 1 to no avail. Any ideas? Tnx, Dick, K7RB

Spot it Button
John Muzyka
Just a quick question if some one knows the answer, on the logging screen under the F key buttons is a button that says SPOT IT which it does just that it spots the station you are working, my question is can you edit the information it give and not just CW I have right clicked (like you do on the F keys) to try and edit the info to say the name of the contest but there is no edit on a right click, is this hidden in the Config file somewhere?? Cheers John G4RCG
