SO2R+ YCCC box, screenshots requested

VE9AA - Mike

I am having some issues getting my YCCC SO2R+ box working on SSB for radio 2 with N1MM+.

CW seems fine.  It's a long story, so I won';t belabour this forum with it, but suffice to say I do have the audio working on radio 2 once in a while, so there's no wires broken etc.

(yes, I have asked Paul and Dennis on the YCCC forum as well)

I am using K5FR's VSP manager, which seems fine.

I did the latest upgrade with solved a bunch of issues with my Icoms.

Would any of you using 2 radios just send me a screenshot of your configurer tab, HARDWARE

just to be sure I am on the same page as everyone else?

If you have the YCCC SO2R+ box, a screenshot of your setup of that software peice would be appreciated as well.

I am kinda at the end of things to try to get consistent audio from the 2nd radio with the N1MM program !

Thanks very much,

dit dit

DI Window Font

James Setzler <jms_k1sd@...>

Greetings,

For RTTY I use 2 MMTTY DI windows (left/right channel) and 3 2Tone RX DI windows (2left/1right).

A few months ago when N1MM+ was new, I was setting the fonts for the DI windows.  Four of them are FB font size.  The MMTTY DI-1 font was somehow, someway changed to something smaller.  It’s annoying.  I can’t figure out how to increase the font size of just that one DI window.  It’s probably in the .ini file somewhere, but I don’t know quite where.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

{PASS ???}

Victor Paul

Is it possible to encode the current running frequency of a particular station at a multi-op into a message to be sent out on RTTY from another?

e.g. {TX} ! 599 05 QRV {PASS1} {RX}
?

The example above doesn't seem to work. One could do {PASS 14000} to insert the pass freq for a station that happens to be on 20m, but don't want to have to come up with 5 separate messages, one for each band.

Have read the manual, but no joy.  Any further advice and elucidation?  Can someone check this and make sure it isn't broken somehow?

Thanks,
Victor WB0TEV

N1MM+ on a stick PC

N2WQ

I was wondering if anyone is using N1MM+ with any of the available stick PCs, such as from Intel, Quantum, etc. The typical stick has a quad-core Atom CPU, 32GB of storage and 2GB of RAM (micro SD card slot for additional storage), 1-3 USB port(s), Wi-Fi & Bluetooth 4.0,  and Windows 8.1 or 10.

My intended use is both CW and RTTY via microHam MK2+ so that all CW and FSK keying is done by the interface box. I usually run 4 RX-only RTTY windows.

This App can't run on your PC error

Richard Vincent

Hello to all,

I am new to N1mm+, and I am trying to get it loaded to run CQ WW Rtty this weekend. I would like to set this up for DM-780 or FLdigi. I have loaded the full installer and the 1.0.5221 update. When I try to start the program I get an error message "This App can't run on your PC" check with publisher for a version that works. I am running Win 8.1 and have installed the program in it's own folder C;\N1mm+\...... Anyone have any ideas?

Re: MMTTY integration to N1MM+

ve3ki@...

Just checking - is MMTTY already running stand-alone when you start up N1MM+? Make sure it isn't - opening the DI window in N1MM+ should open up MMTTY automatically. If MMTTY is running first, it will not communicate with N1MM+

Have you followed all of the instructions at <http://n1mmplus.hamdocs.com/tiki-index.php?page=Digital+Installation+and+Setup&structure=N1MM+Logger+Documentation#Setting_up_N1MM_Logger_for_Digital_Modes> ? or in more detail, at <http://n1mmplus.hamdocs.com/tiki-index.php?page=Digital+Setup#Setting_Up_the_Configurer> ? If you have configured the FSK port in the N1MM+ Configurer (this may be unnecessary, BTW), make sure you have set the DigWndNr to 1 (for DI1; 2 for DI2 in SO2R/SO2V).

On another tack, which version of Windows are you using? This is a shot in the dark, but my understanding is that in Windows 10, Cortana interferes with some inter-process communications. I do not recall hearing of this with N1MM+, but there is always a first time, and it has been reported to be a problem in DXLab Suite (see <http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/Windows10Performance> ).

Re: Updating The Check Partial

Anthony,

What type of error message is it throwing, eg) a popup or an error in one of the Windows? What is the wording of the message?

Are errors being added to the N1MM+ errorlog? You can access the errorlog in N1MM+ via the Help menu and clicking on the "View error log for debugging". If so, please copy and paste here.

Was this working previously and any estimate for when it stopped working?

I downloaded it manually and updated it that way but be advised it throws an error when trying to update via Logger +.  Using latest version.

I do not see that here. If I switch to RTTY then I can transmit after the switch is done. How are you keying your radio? What engine are you sing for RTTY? Does Fldigi close completely when you type RTTY??

that's what I discovered.  I also discovered if you have the fldigi window open (running PSKmode) then switch to RTTY mode then RTTY won't work.  Seems that FLDIGI must be hogging a driver or something, PSK will work but not RTTY.  Restarting N1MM+ and launching RTTY works fine, then switch to PSK mode and that works.  Switch back to Rtty after this and Rtty doesn't work.  I've discovered you must close the FLDIGI waterfall window, then you'll get and error stating that Fldigi is not longer responding and he Digital Interface Window 1 will now close.  Switch to RTTY mode and all works.

Seems like a bug.  It would be great if you could just type RTTY or PSK31 in the CQ-Frequency window and all would work right...

Also by clicking on the setup menu then selecting Settings the Digital setup window will open. On the lower half of the pane that is shown you can select the default engines for RTTY and PSK. Once those are set that engine will open whenever you click on either the RTTY or PSK band buttons. Or when you type RTTY or PSK in the entry windows call sign box..

I believe the SC QSO party last weekend supported RTTY, PSK31, CW and SSB.  I spent too much time trying to figure out how to get N1MM+ to properly operate on RTTY and PSK31, so I'm looking for some advice.

My Rig (Kenwood TS-2000) I have working great stand alone applications on my Windows 7 laptop.  For RTTY use, MMTTY works great and have the EXTFSK 2.0e driver installed. That operates the rig in FSK mode.  For PSK31 I have Fldigi and Flrig set up correctly and the rig operates in USB mode.  For CW I use HRD (and N1MM+) when I don't want to key manually and that all works fine too.  So physical  and electrical connection are all functional, and using the programs listed all works great.  Trying to get N1MM+ to integrate these modes together seems impossible.  The one mode I can't seem to get working is PSK31.

An example, using the SC QSO party as an example, if I click on 20 in the DIG column on N1MM+ main window RTTY Engine 1 is displayed.  How does one tell N1MM+ I want RTTY vs PSK31?  I've tried setting up Fldigi within N1MM+ but that doesn't seem to work.  In the Configurer Digital Modes tab I've pointed to the path for MMTTY (FSK mode) for d1-1 and for the D1-1 Fldigi path I've pointed to that path as well (running win7 so I moved the fldigi.exe file to the \user\username\n1mm+ created folder as there is issues running from the default fldigi folder).

I'm at a loss and looking for help.

I'm glad it has helped.
For me it did not work. What worked for me was what pkjahnberge and John k3CT said. I found duplicate ports in registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\SERIALCOMM (Thats on WinXP)
There were two COM5. One was deleted and seems everything is OK now.
