Thanks Fred, I didn't. I've got Mic+Lin working fine with another
soundcard but can't get the USB audio to play through.

Subject: [Elecraft] Getting Logger+ tx audio via K3s USB audio codec

Would appreciate any tips to getting the N1MM Logger+ soundcard voice
keyer properly keying/driving my K3s via the internal USB soundcard.
My USB-connected K3s is running fine with N1MM Logger+ and "USB Audio
CODEC" selected as my Radio 1 output device. I've got MIC + LIN On
and I see the wav file properly moving the level meter in Windows
sound and the level is set at 100, but no tx audio on the K3s. It
appears that everything is working as it should in Logger+. Is there
a separate LIN level control I need to adjust on the K3s or some other
reason I'm not seeing tx audio being driven?

Thanks & 73,

10 Meter SO2R Mixed Mode

Thomas Rieff (K0YR)

As the 10 meter contest can be mixed mode...thought I would try and set up ssb on left radio and cw on right radio and work back and forth on 2 ends of the band...clicking on a spot goes to focus radio, clicking on spot again goes to other radio ...so in a matter of 2 clicks both radios are on same frequency
or clicking on a different spot goes to other radio and then in 2 clicks both radios are on the same part of the band.
Have not found the right setup. What may I be missing, if this is possible at all???
Maybe asking for too much, but thought I would give it a try.

Re: N1MM and MMTTY not working wll with Win10

Rich,

You were absolutely correct on the first shot. I did the renaming of the MMTTY ini file and then was able to configure MMTTY within the digital interface. So not only did this fix get rid of the many “million” error messages , I was able to use RTTY again. Thank you so much.

However, I am taking your advice and will set up a separate MMTTY folder for N1MM later on today. Today the temp will be 20+ C with clear skies and etc. We will be riding our bike today and then working the 10m contest later.

Thanks again,

Best regards,

Jerry, W1IE

You could try deleting or renaming the MMTTY.ini file (the one in the directory that you are running MMTTY from in N1MM+) to see if you can get MMTTY to start. That might get rid of the error messages on startup, but it might not be the ultimate fix. One possible explanation for the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 10 is that the driver for the COM port you are using for FSK doesn't work correctly under Windows 10. The drivers that Windows 10 supplies by default when it is first installed are not always good choices; you could try going to the web site of the manufacturer of your serial adapter to find an updated driver.

It is best to use a separate copy of MMTTY from the one you use stand-alone, in order that the two configurations (stand-alone and within N1MM+) can be adjusted and remembered independently. You can create a new directory somewhere in your Documents area, or in a new directory under C:\ ou tside the Windows-supplied paths (*not* in the Program Files or Program Files (x86) paths), and just copy MMTTY.exe, UserPara.ini, MMTTY.ini and EXTFSK (if you use it) from the MMTTY program file directory into the new directory. Then in the N1MM+ Configurer, set the MMTTY path to point to the new copy of MMTTY.exe .

Someday, I will learn to put something in the subject besides "GM All"

I'll pose the question again.

Just upgraded my computer to Windows 10 and now I find that N1MM digital interface and the association with MMTTY is not working well together.

It appears that the digital interface is in a loop trying to start MMTTY such that I get many (TMTC) error messages with the label of RTTY Engine 1 and the error message of 0.?????. Eventually Windows stops the starting of MMTTY and will find a reason (which it does not).

So If I close down the digital interface, it instantly closes the many thousands (?) error boxes of 0.????? which means that N1MM does a very good job of cleaning up after itself.

Because of this rapid fire error messages, I am not able to get at the setup of MMTTY through the digital interface.

MMT TY works find as a stand alone.

I am using a Com port to transmit FSK through my K3.

N1MM works super with CW in that it transmits what the function keys want it to transmit.

Any thoughts or suggestions?? I would prefer to solve this problem rather then reverting back to Windows 7 where life was good and all work well with each other. Staying with Win7 means that sometime soon, most things will not work..

Best regards,

Jerry, W1IE

Re: File path problem

Bill Mader

Paul,

The actual folder name in Windows 7 is "Documents". In Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder with your CQ_CONTEST_ZM4M.WAV file. Click in the Address Bar. You'll see the "true" folder name Windows uses. It should look something like this:

C:\Users\Auto\Documents\N1MM Logger+\Wav\K8TE

"Auto" is my login name and what we call "My Documents" for that login is actually "Documents".

This should be enough information to help you fix the problem. http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-index.php?page=Stored+Messages+and+the+Function+Key+Message+Editor provides further details, if you need them.

I hope your contest goes better than mine last night!

File path problem

Hi,

Am running the latest version V1.0.5354.0 and am having problems setting
the file path for SSB macros.

The DVK configurer path is set as "{operator}\"but I get the error message:

File not found: C:\Users\ZL4PW\Documents\N1MM
Logger+\Wav\ZL4PW\CQ_CONTEST_ZM4M.WAV

Am running Win 7 Pro and it doesn't have a folder called Documents,
rather "My Documents", whats more, it won't allow me to create a new
folder Called "Documents" as it warns me it already exists and asks me
if I want to merge data, if I say "no" it will default the name to "New
Folder", not sure what happens if I say "Yes". Maybe I can set an
absolute file path in the configurer, e.g.

C:\Users\ZL4PW\My Documents\N1MM Logger+\Wav\ZL4PW\CQ_CONTEST_ZM4M.WAV

Any ideas please??

Paul

Re: File path problem

Barry N1EU

If you right click on the icon labeled "My Documents" and look at its properties, you will see that the actual physical path is c:\Users\XXXX\Documents. The physical folder "Documents" is the same as the virtual folder "My Documents." Thus, you don't need to create anything new, it's already there. When Logger says it's looking in Documents, it's also looking in the virtual folder "My Documents", which is the same as Libraries-Documents (for the logged in user) in the left hand navigation pane of Windows Explorer.

This in a nutshell is the absurdity of Windows.

K, KH6, KL7 and VE are shown in the country window. They probably should
not be there for this contest, since they are state/province
multipliers. A minor inconvenience.

ARRL10 multipliers information

Jorge Diez - CX6VM

Hello

Running N1MM+ versión 1.0.5354.0

I think for 8 years I am asking to have STATES/PROV and COUNTRIES columns in the summary windows with no luck. Please don´t tell me that is info is in another place. The best way to have this information always on and to see if you are doing well with countries or with states/provinces is in the score summary windows

So I can see in the summary window that we have 15 multipliers. As I NEED to know how many states and how many countries we have in this 14 multipliers, I went to MULTIPLIERS COUNTRY WINDOW and I can see a total of 12 mults

Then I open MULTIPLIERS SECTION/STATES WINDOW and I can see a total of 5 mults

So I am doing something wrong? 12 + 5 = 17. So I have 15 or 17 multipliers?

Well is nice we are multi single and have a dedicated computer to spend a lot of time trying to figure out how we are doing. For a single operator, forget to know that!, or stop doing contest to figure out

Jorge

Re: Wrong Frequency

ve3ki@...

What mode is the radio in, and what is your operating mode? Is the Digital Interface window open? If it is,, and the radio is in LSB, the actual transmitted frequency in RTTY would be the radio's dial frequency minus the audio frequency of the Mark tone in the RTTY engine. In other words, in that situation it is correct for the frequency that is logged to be different from the radio's dial frequency. The Setup > Turn AutoTRXUpdate On/Off option controls this - if you are doing digital modes with the rig in USB or LSB, this option should be checked. If the rig is in an FSK or RTTY mode in which its dial displays the actual Mark frequency, this option should be unchecked.

The AutoTRXUpdate option affects the frequency from spots, in the log, in the bandmap, and in the title bar of the main Entry window. There is a separate option that affects the frequency that is displayed in the title bar of the DI window; that option is a check box in the Digital Setup window, and it is called Display Radio Freq and not Exact Freq in DI Caption. The setting for this check box should be opposite to the AutoTRXUpdate setting, i.e. if the radio is in USB or LSB this option should be unchecked, and if the radio is in FSK or RTTY, it should be checked.

If you are using the digital interface for RTTY, then it may be that one of the check boxes has not been checked in the digital Interface/setup/ second checkbox down.
