Good morning Steve ,

Thank You for Your reply . I was not aware of this Macro as I normally never use it . But would it be possible to have this macro also duplicated on a single spare F key or other ?
Anyway, Just tried it here locally and works of course . So , allmost a good solution and will use that in case no easier one comes up.

Stay safe and healthy,

Tnx a lot ,

However, it seems to me that the fixed field is still exported to the EXPORT CABRILLO, so it can be regenerated or is still saved and recoverable somewhere.
The addition of the STX_STRING field would be really appropriate to avoid having to do it again by hand, even if easily, with REPLACE or ADIF MATSER.
Having it by default, since it is a shortcoming, it would be nice ;-)

Re: N1MM "not responding" when I try to switch from RTTY to CW

I finally got N1MM "out of RTTY" by plugging my webcam back into the PC if that makes any sense.

I think one of the RTTY decoders was hung because audio devices had changed in the past week as I am doing some teleconferencing for work from my shack PC but unplugging the webcam most of the time I remember to when I don't need it.

I HATE HATE HATE the way audio devices work on Windows 10. Plugging a single device in causes everything to shift around. In BARTG I was confused because both of my RTTY decoders had decided to start using the webcam microphone (which kinda sorta worked as audio found its way out of my headphones to the webcam mic, but very poorly). Unplugging a single device causes programs to hang solid. Ugh.

Is there someway to permanently map my RTTY decoders to a specific audio device and not have everything shift around whenever something gets plugged in or unplugged? This is kind-of how Windows XP worked.

Re: N1MM, winkeyer, MRP40 setup works! (IC-7610)

Bo W4GHV

Sorry, the MRP40 is a $75 program that copies CW better than the best. It is amazing. With the winkeyer you can transmit messages as well.
Without N1MM I can use the winkeyer as RTTY & CW setting up user 1 and user 2 for the two ports. Works good. The WK demo works with both as well.
It has to be a quirk or perhaps just one setting that I'm missing.
You may be correct in that the additional port2 box on the setup is only for what you mentioned.

I had such a difficult time figuring it out, I made screen captures and a PPT slideshow to help me the next time.
Now I can dabble in all the 'sprint' CW & RTTY events since the N1MM logger  has setups for them.
Gotta find something to do besides naps during this lockdown. :)

GA Bo,

I haven't the foggiest idea what a MRP40 is(and I'm too tired from working all day to Google it), but I think (and stand to be corrected) the Keyer 2 port on the Winkeyer is for keying the 2nd radio in a SO2R setup.
At least that's what I used mine for a few years ago.  I am onto other things now, but that's to the best of my recollection.

N1MM, winkeyer, & MRP40 work great WITH ONE STRANGE CHANGE! I cannot get N1MM to output to KEY2 no matter what. Yes, I checked the KEY2 box (two places) in the WINKEY config. and tried lots of variations

It works fine on CW if you move the CW plug to KEY1.

The MRP40 copies well, used in the receive only mode.

BTW MRP40 works great with the winkeyer in transmit mode as well! (without N1MM)

The only 'shortcoming' is there is no 'freq sync'. You tune in a signal, hit the rig auto-tune button, putting the received signal near your rig offset freq. (600Hz for me), and you are ready to go.

Re: {TIME2} Digital and Function messages

Rick,
My answer to your question, Yes and still get nothing when using the DIGITAL FUNCTION KEYS. Using the FUNCTION KEY WINDOW F-Keys I get the correct message with the QSO Log Time.

I have used the {TIME2} command this way for many BARTG HF RTTY Contests. Same computer, same text files, same messages using the {F} command. When did this change happen I really don’t know as I only took notice of the function at the beginning of this years BARTG Contest.  Many program version updates since I last used the {TIME2} command.

I don’t know what other commands in addition to the ones I mentioned are being effected by the use of the {f} command. Im hoping the program can again allow using of the {f} command again.

Thanks for your interest,

{TIME2} Command Problems

As part of the QSO exchange the BARTG HF RTTY Test requires a logging TIME to be given. To do this in my preset messages I use {TIME2} as part of the message lines.

The implementation of this command seems to have changed. Has this effected other commands?

{TIME}, {TIME1}, {TIME2} not working.

{TIMEGMT}, {TIMESTAMP} working.

For storage of my messages I use the message keys available in the FUNCTION KEY WINDOW, which is the area in the window where the callsign and other contact information is entered and the message keys in the DIGITAL WINDOW, which is the window where RTTY TEXT is read.

Typing ALT-K brings up the current text file for the FUNCTION KEY WINDOW message keys. Line one to line twelve links to FUNCTION KEY WINDOW message keys F1 to F12 with the option of RUN/SP messages.

My text file will read as:

F1 CQ, {TX} {ENTER}CQ BARTG AA2MF/4 AA2MF/4 CQ {RX}

F2 REPLY, {TX} {ENTER} ! {SENTRST} {EXCH} {TIME2} AA2MF/4 {RX}

Clicking on the F2 key in the FUNCTION KEY WINDOW I get the correct message information including the LOG TIME.

DIGITAL WINDOW messaging.

The program also allows up to twelve additional function keys which are located below the RTTY TEXT READ AREA. To program any of these windows RIGHT CLICK on any of these F-Keys and the DigitalSetupWindow will appear. Within this window by clicking on the desired F-Key the message information can then be placed in the MESSAGE TEXT area.

I select F2 and type: {RUN} {f2}

This statement places the program into RUN MODE and READS LINE TWO in the FUNCTION KEY text file.

F2 REPLY, {TX} {ENTER} ! {SENTRST} {EXCH} {TIME2} AA2MF/4 {RX}

Clicking on the  F2 DIGITAL FUNCTION KEY the {TIME2} command dose not work. If I click on the F2 key in the FUNCTION KEY WINDOW and then click on the F2 key in the DIGITAL WINDOW the {TIME2} command works.

To correct this and allow me to continue using the DIGITAL WINDOW FUNCTION KEYS I copied  the full text line into the MESSAGE TEXT WINDOW instead of using the {f2} command. The loss of using the {f} command has reduced the message flexibility of the program.

Testing the {TIME2} macro

If you test out the Exchange message using the {TIME2} macro without first entering a call sign into the Entry window, the Exchange message will send “0000”. This is expected, and it does not mean there is something wrong with your Exchange message. The time sent by the {TIME2} macro will be initialized only after a valid call sign has been entered into the call sign box and the cursor has been moved into the exchange box.

Within this window by clicking on the desired F-Key the message information can then be placed in the MESSAGE TEXT area.

I select F2 and type: {RUN} {f2}

This statement places the program into RUN MODE and READS LINE TWO in the FUNCTION KEY text file.

F2 REPLY, {TX} {ENTER} ! {SENTRST} {EXCH} {TIME2} AA2MF/4 {RX}
