Cables made by FTDI available directly or from distribution
FWIW, you can purchase FTDI chip-based USB to RS-232 DB-9 cables in 10cm or 100cm long versions directly from FTDI or from other authorized distributors such as Digi-key
Just do a search for FTDI

Welknown problem, often reported.
You should switch to an older version of FLdigi - half year or one year ago.

Re: Radio not responding
Thanks John,
At the moment the drop down menu shows COMs 1, 10, 3, 8 and 9. I say "at the moment" because over the past few days COM 10 was not listed. Yesterday I started removing and re-seating

Re: AK Call In WI
Joe,
As far as I can tell, you always have to include the /W9 designator in the Station data configuration for the CALL field. In other words, enter it once and leave it that way. I've tried that here

Re: AK Call In WI
In the Station Information dialog box (Config > Change your Station Data...), what is in the ARRL Section box? I believe the program uses that to determine whether a station with an FCC-issued call

Very correct, for contests, It "Can" do general logging too, but not it's main purpose. and in my opinion it is the best out there.

Thank you Joe. I will give it a shot. I am getting the idea that it is designed for doing contests so it is not an ordinary logging program. Tnx & 73 Bruce ve5rc

Re: AK Call In WI [1 Attachment]
It used to be in rules of many contests that under those circumstances /W9 was required. You would need to check the contest rules. It has nothing to do with the FCC.

AK Call In WI
I helped a guy set up N1MM+ for the DX contest last weekend.
When he did the initial set up,
He entered all the correct zones, and such. States bla bla bla.
Now he knew he had to
