Re: SO2V and WSJT/SSB

ve3ki

I don't believe this will work.

You could try to avoid problems with the second VFO in WSJT-X by setting WSJT-X's Split mode to "Fake it" instead of "Rig", so that WSJT-X does not try to use VFO B, BUT: The K3/K3S does not allow transmitting from VFO B when the modes in the two VFOs are different. This puts a severe crimp in cross-mode SO2V. Basically all of your transmitting must be done from VFO A, so you have to swap VFOs when switching modes. That's not really SO2V, it's basically just using VFO B as a temporary frequency memory for the other mode. Furthermore, if one of the modes is for WSJT-X, even this won't work, because the VFO A Entry window call sign box will be commandeered by WSJT-X whenever the WSJT Decode List window is open.

shutdown in order to run a different mode.  I suppose WSJT-X will
complain when the radio goes into SPLIT, but that could be easily reset

Or is the only way to achieve this by going to a real SO2R setup with

WSJTx - N1MM integration

Yep, me again.  My USB setup is working (for now).  All is well with USB ports.

I had WSJT logging to N1MM during my test period.  It was working.  I changed N1MM to VHF Jan Contest and WSJT no longer logs to N1MM.  I told WSJT to auto log (hit enter).   Under WSJT Advanced I selected Special Operating Activity “NSA VHF Contest”.   WSJTx logs to its log and I can get contacts from there later so I can work around the problem.   I prefer it log to N1MM so I can get dup checking.  What did I miss?

SO2R SSB Feature Suggestion

VE9AA - Mike

I don't do very much SSB SO2R, so maybe I missed a tick box or a dropdown or something somewhere, but is it possible please to have (scrolling?) text of some kind below the callsign entry box like there is in CW that tells me visually what is being "said" out over the air?

Obviously it can't tell me letter by letter like in CW, but even if just the Function key label (or a user configurable label) was displayed, that would be great !
Scrolling text would be awesome, (based on the length of the recording?) but I realize this may be an unreasonable ask.

I just got on briefly for NAQP SSB (taking a break now) and with me NOT listening to my outgoing audio on radio #1, I am never 100% sure if I have hit an incorrect key.

At least with CW, I can see the text scrolling by to insure everything going out is all OK, but on SSB (unless I've missed it), there is no way to know what's being sent. (unless you listen to your outgoing audio, which kinda defeats the purpose of SO2R, because it would be pretty hard to hear radio #2's receiver if you were listening to yourself in Radio #1's transmitter in a monitor-type function)

Thanks Dev team !

Hi all!

From v.8869 there appeared stable defect in DI1 RTTY Mode Other window.

RX and TX text are in TX part of the window both. RX pane is empty.

And very old minor defect at the right clicking in this window:

RX Clear works as should,

TX Clear does nothing,

Command Clear wipes TX pane, but not Command.

Steve,

This works fine as expected. Thanks for the fix! And great job in the NAQP! See you in the Sprint.

This sounds similar to the issues that N3RD and K2YR reported.

I have posted an experimental version "SO2R Focus" in the experimental files area.

Experimental code posted

John Bednar

If you are using Logger+ Audio concatenating audio player and have time to test code, I posted an experimental version at the link below.

https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com/mmfiles/all-submitted-changes-plus-logger-audio-concatenating-audio-player-parser/

The build contains all pending changes for Tuesdays release. The specific parser changes are included below.

John, K3CT

Logger+ Audio: Concatenating audio player parser changes.

-          Allow a function key message to start with a wav file prior to the callsign macro (!).

-          Check each letter file during the function key parsing for existence, read permission, and matching wav file properties.

-          Skip any wav file during the parsing that is a problem and display the error in a NIMB message. This is to eliminate the frequent RunTime reports from users that try to use wav files with different recording properties.

-          Added support for ? and / in the callsign.

-          A callsign ending with "/P" is played with the STROKEP.wav file.

-          Remember that concatenating the audio files before the audio player starts means a callsign changes will not update the playing message. This is supported in the non-concatenating audio player because the callsign box is checked between each wav file.
