Hi all!

From v.8869 there appeared stable defect in DI1 RTTY Mode Other window.

RX and TX text are in TX part of the window both. RX pane is empty.

And very old minor defect at the right clicking in this window:

RX Clear works as should,

TX Clear does nothing,

Command Clear wipes TX pane, but not Command.

Experimental code posted

John Bednar

If you are using Logger+ Audio concatenating audio player and have time to test code, I posted an experimental version at the link below.

https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com/mmfiles/all-submitted-changes-plus-logger-audio-concatenating-audio-player-parser/

The build contains all pending changes for Tuesdays release. The specific parser changes are included below.

John, K3CT

Logger+ Audio: Concatenating audio player parser changes.

-          Allow a function key message to start with a wav file prior to the callsign macro (!).

-          Check each letter file during the function key parsing for existence, read permission, and matching wav file properties.

-          Skip any wav file during the parsing that is a problem and display the error in a NIMB message. This is to eliminate the frequent RunTime reports from users that try to use wav files with different recording properties.

-          Added support for ? and / in the callsign.

-          A callsign ending with "/P" is played with the STROKEP.wav file.

-          Remember that concatenating the audio files before the audio player starts means a callsign changes will not update the playing message. This is supported in the non-concatenating audio player because the callsign box is checked between each wav file.

The software for the amplifier RF2K-S has been changed. SO2R with the PA is now possible with N1MM + based on UPD and broadcast. N1MM + immediately broadcasts a change of the active window and thus the new QRG; even if only the frequency was changed a little with the VFO. The PA follows and switches to the correct QRG.

With a Flex6xxx and the RF2K-S, full SO2R operation can be made; And that also remotely, since devices can be controlled and monitored completely via the internet, with only an internet required on the remote side, but no PC required.
CAT or Banddata cables are not required.

The PA has PIN diodes PTT with 3ms - that should be fast enough for almost operation

I notice during the contest that the points are not correct.
If I work a member (eg 002 / M) then I should normally receive 6 points because I am also a member.

An example:
RT6DI sends 009 / M and I send 014 / M this should give 6 points anyway?
In the log window I only see 2 points.
In the Score window there is also no field on how many members I have worked.

How can this be adjusted?

Barry,

Thanks.  I am beginning to suspect an intermittently bad port and not a software configuration issue.  I’ll try using the suspect port again after the VHF contest this weekend.

For the person who asked.  Machine is Core I3, 8G Ram, with an SSD for booting.  If it were too slow it would be too slow all the time.  This machine worked fine for over 5 years with N1MM, albeit with a powered USB hub plugged into it.

I have had a similar problem with my ic7300 and one of the usb ports on my laptop not always working.  When I use a different port on my computer and it works fine.  I assume the laptop has a bad USB port, probably since I have used the same port for many years inserting the usb cable / are removing it regularly.

Yes, it does matter. Its not just the 5 volt supply. The port shuts down.

And this setting is in Root Hubs and NOT just in the port itself. Check ALL USB devices.

Bob,

I didn’t think increasing the timeout would help. I would reset it back to the default value.

The radio powers the USB port chip in the radio. It is not powered by the computer USB port.

The radio times out because data is not received from the radio for ## seconds.

I assume that you have disabled your computer sleep and hibernate for these long tests. If the computer enters either of these power down modes you can’t expect the radio to stay connected when the computer wakes.

Make sure that you disabled USB selective suspend settings in the power options window.

I don’t expect there is any issue with your rear USB ports. The rear ports may be USB 3.0 while the others are USB 2.0. Windows is causing the USB port to sleep which stops the data transfer causing the radio communication issue. That is a common problem since Windows defaults the power down option to ON and often resets the user setting.

Update to my long other thread…

Rig timeout was changed from 15 to 30 per Tom’s suggestion I increase it to 15.  It was at 15 so I doubled it.  I don’t think this did much but perhaps it eliminated some disconnects.  I still lost comms about 2 hours later.

I moved USB cable from back panel to front of PC USB port to make it easier to reset port without a reboot (unplug, plug back in).  Since I’ve done this, I’ve not had to do a reset.  It’s been about 18 hours.  This makes that port or the back ports suspect.  This VHF contest weekend will be the real test if it can stay up until after the contest.

If it fails again I will be installing a newly arrived powered USB hub.  A powered hub was suggested to me about 10 years ago for same PC losing USB to IC-7410.  That worked for 5+ years, so long I forgot the hub was there and removed it by accident with a shack remodel.

I suspect I have a bad or marginal USB port that does not provide enough power to the USB device.  That is why a powered hub that should not be needed worked around the problem.  Only a theory at this time.

1 - Radio 1 : CQ using F1
2 - No answer so used Fkey to send my call on alternate radio (F10 on my setup). This works sometimes, but not always.
3 - Send CQ on alternate radio -Radio 1 (F7 in my setup). Does not switch here.
I am using a DX-Doubler and the lights on it indicate that transmit should be occurring on radio 1 but in the Entry window, the correct lights are not indicated nor is anything transmitted on Radio 1 in this 3rd sequence.
I know this all worked perfectly for the NAQP when I was using 1.0.8841. Went back and re-installed that version and everything works fine.
There appears to be a glitch in the programs updates after that one.
