Re: Cannot install rsp1a plugin

Joseph LaFerla

Some more info but no solution yet.  The issue must be related to the api driver.  I tried hdsdr with the rsp1a and I experience the same problem.  Rick, do you know which api driver and which extio.dll driver I should use.  Has anyone else with an rsp1a had this trouble and if so what was the solution. For the record, I have been able ,to get sdrplay working with win4icomsuite so my rsp1a must not be faulty.  Is it possible that something in N1MM is causing the problem?  Don't forget that this used to work before on the same computer I am using now.

Bandpass window

I accidently shrunk the font size to an unreadable size.  How do I restore original size?  I did a right-click in bandpass window and did not see a solution.  ZOOM in or out seemed to deal with something else.

This is what N1MM+ has in the header file. Not sure how to fix it.

pstrotatoraz and MM

Whats the correct way to set this up? I thought I followed the instructions, I have pstrotator standalone working, and I have a small window open in MM showing the correct rotor name, and the correct rotor heading, but when I try Alt J to turn the rotor, nothing happens.....I can turn the rotor in pstrotatoraz, and the small MM window follows, but none of the commands from within MM to turn the rotor work (Alt J, right click in window and chose turn rotor, etc)

Problems with Spots in 'Available Mults & QS Window"

n7bv@...

GD,

Been having troubles with only the active band displaying Mults and Qs in the columns at the top of the window.
After doing a SH/DX they are not updated until I do another SH/DX and only the active band shows Mults and Qs.

Previously all bands would be updated.

Thanks for the help.

Unexpected Mode Change

John Clark

Happened to me last night.on 40m CW during the CQWW

Equip
I am using the latest version,
Since I run QRP my radio is a Xiego G90, I am running a windows 10 ten lap top and the rigrol is thru a usb port. Since N1MM does not support
my rig I use the IC-718 in the configure setup. Since the Xiego use's similar CIV structure.

Set the stage

As mentioned I was on 40m.cw, I was using the ESM mode  was working FM5BH had the first two letters entered in to entry window 'FM' I new his call, so because he
finished sending his CQ I hit the enter key to send my call.."LIKE WE ALL HAVE DONE" WELL INSTEAD MY CALL BEING SENT, IT changed the mode to (NFM)! You talk about trying to figure out what the sounds were that erupted into my headset. Thought my G90 had a major malfunction.

A little research today and found that a shortcut to change modes by entering them into the entry window is normal behavior.

However there are a couple countries who have prefix's very similar to the modes we use 'FM' & 'CW'.

Maybe this needs to be switched on & off through a R-Click menu or ia radio button n the configure routine. Maybe it all ready is but I sure can't find it.

Since this was the first time this has happened it cost me some time and actually caused my reciever to jump and with the pile ups could not find FM5BH Gin.
Ended up working him later.

Can you key two K3 radios via USB??

William Liporace WC2L

Hi Folks,
I'm having RF issues in the shack. I really want to send CW via USB to either radio. I'm disabled the keying the SO2R box, but even with the SO2R box off, I can't send CW to both radios via USB. Is this not possible?

Re: Cannot install rsp1a plugin

Joseph LaFerla

Hi Rich

I did find the file and installed it in the N1MM program directory but  I still cannot get the spectrum display to work. It works fine if I switch to the feed from the 7300 but when I switch to the sdrplay rsp1a driver it locks up N1MM and I have to restart it.  I tried reinstalling sdruno and the rsp1a.  I even tried the tcp driver and nothing seems to work.  Now this used to work before but I had to uninstall stuff and reinstall with new the new drivers from sdrplay.  I am going to keep trying but let me know if you have any other thoughts.  Thanks.

Shielded usb a/b cable

Les C. VA7RN

Thanks to all that advised me about the shielded usb cable. I have used ferrite on my cable, both ends, but I must say the wire itself seems very thin. That's why I wanted to try a better shielded one.
Thanks again,73,

All my USB cables are choked with either Mix 31 or 43 chokes.

They are very effective if they are the source of the RF I.

I have purchased various cables or products from all though I've not specifically tested the Tripp-lite ferrite cables for their efficacy.

As I have used both short and ferrite type USB A to B and hadn't seen both in the same cable, I thought I'd search after seeing the digest today.
I didn't do an exhaustive search.
But I found (all USB 2.0):

Tripp-lite makes a 3 ft and 6 ft USB A to B with ferrite.
P/N U023-003   3 ft. with ferrite  $5.99 on Amazon Prime
P/N U023-006   6 ft. with ferrite  $6.00 on Amazon Prime

Tripp-Lite makes a 1 ft USB A to B no ferrite.
P/N UR022-001  1 ft  no ferrite   $   didn't check

L-com  Makes a 0.5 M USB A to B with ferrite.
P/N U2A00002-05M   0.5 meter with ferrite  $5.21  qty 1-9
It is also sold by Show Me Cables for the same price.
L-com owns them.

Belkin Pro Series has a 6 inch USB A to B 2.0 no ferrite.
From hellabargain.com  $16.86
Perhaps Belkin is available elsewhere for less. I didn't look.

I've used a 6 inch USB for daily use with a portable CF card reader/dongle at work. Eventually, it went bad/ intermittent (as expected). A longer cable in flex service like that lasts much longer. In your station it may do fine.

L-Com also had an USB 2.0 A to MicroB with ferrites - 0.5 meter for $6.29 Qty 1-9. FWIW

End of search. I'm sure there's more out there.
The 3 who posted earlier should get my attachment.
