IC-7100 Filter change in RTTY

KG7D Greg

IC-7100, Win 10, Logger Version 1.0.8131.0:

The Wide/Narrow filter button at the top of the bandmap window doesn't change filter width when in RTTY mode, or other digital modes either. (I'm using AFSK-R not FSK I don't think that matters, but..). It toggles fine between filters 1 and 2 in SSB. Is this a "bug" or this normal?  Even in RTTY, I usually use my wide filters unless I'm having trouble reading a signal due to another signal very close.

The IC-7100 has three filter widths, it would be nice if it could toggle between all three. Or is there somewhere that I can choose which two filter widths it toggles between?

Not that I used it during the RTTY contest, but he addition of the RIT feature is very handy., and seems to be working fine. Thank you.

This happened to me a few years ago.  If I remember correctly, I had the incorrect start date or time for the contest.

I noticed in the WPX RTTY that the goals stays flat-lined despite having what looks like a proper goals file loaded.  I imported using the built-in facility from last year's contest, and it produced a file that looks like it should with the projected Q's on each hour (dhh format for 48 hours), then selected that file when opening the log, but still see just a flat line.  Ideas?

I am new to N1MM.  Using a Icom 7300 and want to use my RC-28 remote
encoder.  My encoder worked perfectly with the Icom RS-BA1 software
but that software is not as good as N1MM.  I cannot figure out how to
get the RC-28 to work with the N1MM software.   Has anyone else
figured this out.  I am sure it is probably only a setting I am
missing, although cannot seem to figure it out.

OK,

go into the N1MM+ Folder,,,

Documents>N1MM Logger+>

Open the LogError.txt with notepad.

delete it's contents and save it empty.

Now run N1MM+ till you get an error, and go back to this log file and send us the contents.

No any issues to complete the voice messages (ex. missing letter files, path not found, etc.), just crashes when ESM is active and works fine when it's not.

When ESM mode is OFF and I do all the voice sequence manually F5+F2+F3+Enter ... or 'INS'+F3+Enter, all works fine for unlimited time period.

To play each individual call sign couple of *.wav files are to be played (Use Logger+ Audio):

- 1 file for the prefix;

- 1 file for the first two letters suffix;

- 1 file for the third suffix letter if exist;

- the 'report' and 'thanks' files are also separate, all with the necessary time out implemented (20 or 80 ms).

Same behavior on both environments Win7 and Win10.

Any idea about this ?

LZDOMESTIC transmits but doesn't log complete sent exchange

Lyubomir Slavov, OR2F

Hi All !

I was asked by LZ-fellow to rise the issue he has :
During whole LZ-domestic tournament period the sent exchanges are transmitted complete and correct but on some QSO lines or all of them in the log the second half / {LASTEXCH} is missing ... as well as it doesn't appear afterwards in the generated Cabrillo, i.e. extra time+error risk to write them addendum in the text file.

image.png

Same behavior with LZDOMESTIC, LZOPEN, LZFILED etc.
Same behavior with Windows7 and Windows10

With me all is 100% OK, I can't reproduce such a phenomena ... neither on the my pc with Win7 nor Win10.

...

Just for test, on the pc with Win7 he has installed very old N1MM-Classic pack and did same simulation with same result - the 'EXCH' column of the log keeps blank:

Any idea what could be the root cause ?

John,

I don't use any concatenating tool, all is done by the 'Logger+ Audio'.

Simply the internal sound card of the laptop and its advanced settings. Are these options correct active ?

image.png

No any issues to complete the voice messages (ex. missing letter files, path not found, etc.), just crashes when ESM is active and works fine when it's not.

Then check the option. The code scans your wav files to insure they can be played as one wav. If there are any issues they will be displayed in the window. You will need to correct this recording compatibility issues before using the concatenating audio player.

If this isn’t the problem, send the text of your function key with the issue.

Hi All,

I've been trying to use a voice robot in RUN mode. ESM function is active, all paths/files are OK. Unfortunately after one, two or max three inputs (complete Qs) I hear a crack in my audio monitor and then this message appears :

image.png

When ESM mode is OFF and I do all the voice sequence manually F5+F2+F3+Enter ... or 'INS'+F3+Enter, all works fine for unlimited time period.

To play each individual call sign couple of *.wav files are to be played (Use Logger+ Audio):

- 1 file for the prefix;

- 1 file for the first two letters suffix;

- 1 file for the third suffix letter if exist;

- the 'report' and 'thanks' files are also separate, all with the necessary time out implemented (20 or 80 ms).

Same behavior on both environments Win7 and Win10.

Any idea about this ?

Thanks a lot to the whole developer team about the effort, it's a great help guys ... THANKS !

John,

Unfortunately yes ... not that often but let say after 15-20 min of RUN-simulation (60-100 Qs).

Today, I don't have any crash since I do the test with unchecked concatenating option ... already couple of hours:

If you are playing a file in these two directories, there shouldn’t be an issue with the concatenating audio player.

Re: Help on connecting RC-28, IC-7300 and N1MM Software #IC7300

Tom Wagner (N1MM)

We do not support the RC-28.  That encoder, unlike most radio accessories attaches to the computer, not the radio.

We support tuning of the radio with the computer mouse wheel.  Control keys on the keyboard can be used to alter the steps that each mouse movement tunes. This tuning varies by mode and by run/S&P status.

* *Up Arrow*– Tune radio down 100 Hz on SSB, 20 Hz on CW (adjustable
in the configurer).
o *FT-1000MP, FT-890, FT-920, FT-990 and FT-1000 and all many
other radios*
+ *In S&P*– pressing the up/down arrows will turn off RIT and
tune your main VFO.
+ *In Running mode*– it will turn on your RIT and tune the RIT.
* *Down Arrow*– Tune radio up 100 Hz on SSB, 20 Hz on CW (adjustable).
o See Up Arrow information above
* *Mousewheel*– With the mouse in the Entry Window, QSY the radio
using the same increment as the Up/Down arrow keys
o *Alt+Mousewheel*– With the mouse in the Entry Window, QSY in
increments of 1 kHz
o *Ctrl+Mousewheel*– With the mouse in the Entry Window, QSY in
increments of 10 kHz

Jay,
Do you have 2 copies of MMTTY running?
If not, you'll likely have quirky switching issues. (I run SO2R with the YCCC SO2R+ box too)
I was gonna do some SO2R rtty this weekend as I've been doing SO2R a couple yrs on CW/SSB, but realized (too late) that I
needed to have 2 copies and since I was not a serious entrant, did not bother.

I've never run SO2R with RTTY, so I would've had to have followed this advice:

Issue: Switching between entry windows keys radio.

Setup is SO2R using YCCC box and Winkeyer for FSK to radio 1.  Radio 2 is not set up for RTTY.

This  is my first foray into RTTYWPX and when I use the pause key to change focus from radio 1 to radio 2 it switches FB (red dot and green dot on entry window 2, no dots on entry window 1).  But when I use pause to switch from radio 2 to radio 1 it switches but keys radio 1 (green dot and orange dot, no dots in entry window 2).

I just switched to an SSB log and it does the same thing.

Do I have something set incorrectly?

Thanks,

Re: Goals not working

John Bednar

Ron,

There have been no intentional program changes to Goals. I know if nothing exists in the goals database table, a default goal of 50 is used.

Export the goals and edit the file with NotePad. Do you have goals for the clock hours in question? If so, send me the exported file. With digital there might be a mode dependent issue.

Ideas?
