There is no need to change this radio setting when you configure the program correctly.  Look in the Additional Files section of the web page for the IC-7610 Setup document.  Let us know if you can't find it.

Need to use .WAV Files and Microphone.  Made WAV files work by setting DATA MOD OFF to USB in IC-7610 but then can't make microphone work.  If I set it to MIC, then WAV files don't work.

Saw some reference to this in archives, a broken link to a possible solution (don't know, haven't read it) and would really appreciate some specific help in getting this to work.

I think Ctrl-N opens the qso note window.  If I am wrong check the keyboard commands list in the manual.

I have used N1MM for several years, but have never tried to connect to a cluster.  Tonight I tried, without success, to connect to several on the list of clusters.  I am in Kentucky.  Is there a cluster that I can connect to that will give me useful spots? I've been trying to read the manual and see if there is something about the setup that I need to do, but no luck so far.

Help for beginner needed

Brad Anbro

Hello all,

I am new to N1MM and am looking for instruction on how to get started correctly. I successfully downloaded the
N1MM program to a Windows 10 Pro desk-top machine and was wondering how to best interface it with an
older Yaesu FT-1000MP (early model) HF radio and a WinKeyer USB keyer.

For cables, I am using a serial-serial cable with which to connect the HF rig to the computer and an ordinary
printer cable to connect the WinKeyer USB to the computer. Is this the best way to go about hooking up these
components? Or should I be using something else, instead of what I have?

Also, does anything need to be done in the menu of the FT-1000MP for communicating with the computer?

Thanks in advance!

Subject: [N1MM+] Stew Perry Contest - Software problems (N1MM and Flex SSDR)

I experienced some strange behaviors with N1MM and Flex SSDR over this past weekend in the Stew Perry contest.  This was the first time I used SSDR 2.5.1 (Windows client) in a contest.  Before this I was using SSDR 2.4.9 with N1MM without issues.

Four times the radio got stuck in TX enable.  The radio was keyed with red light on. It would not switch back to receive. This behavior was occurring randomly.  The first couple of times I just rebooted the radio in an effort to quickly get back to the contest.  The third and fourth time it happened I took some time and found that restarting N1MM cleared the problem.  So it seems there may be an issue with N1MM and SSDR.  I was using latest version of N1MM (1.0.7971.0)

Two times I randomly lost audio from the radio.  The panadapter was full of signals but no sound coming out of my headphones or speakers.  Not sure if N1MM was to blame for this issue as I did not try to troubleshoot this during the contest.  I simply reboot the radio to get back into the contest.

I've never had this happen with 2.4.9 during a contest.  I have not had this happen with 2.5.1 outside of a contest.

I will report this to N1MM devs.

Anyone else having similar issues ?

Re: Notes in log

Larry, it's a lot easier than that.

To add a note to a contact, just use Ctrl+N. The note will be added to the QSO in progress, or to the previous QSO if no QSO is in progress. If you "force log" a contact using Ctrl+Alt+Enter, a note will be added to the log automatically.

To view notes, use the View > Notes menu item.

Ok,(grasping at straws), have you tried a cold shut down of the computer, restart, then restart of N1MM.  Problem still exist?

If it still exists, try renaming your “N1MM Logger.ini” file to something like “N1MM Logger.ini.old” and restart. Or choose one of the ini backup files where it last worked ok, make that one the current ini file and restart.

Works the same with various contests and if cw+SSB or just cw or all modes.  Keying radio direct.

I have tried every option under Mode Control.  The only difference it makes is that if I select “Always CW”, it won’t change to another mode (obviously).  No option allows me to change bands.  If I am on “3550.00 CW”, for example, and hover over 20 SSB, it displays, “Left Click, QSY to 14200”. However, left-clicking changes nothing, and typing in any frequency (e.g., 14200) does not change to anything other than 80 or 75 meters.

Okay this is much too weird.  Answers to below:  If I’ve been on 80 cw at 3550 (manually-entered…not CAT control) the bar shows “3550.00 CW Manual”.

If I right-click in the Entry Window, “Band Button Left Click Enabled” is checked. I tried unchecking and rechecking it.

When I started looking at this, I logged a few “test QSOs”, and the program behaved the way it was supposed to…for a few QSOs.  Then it went back to not allowing me to change bands without restarting.

I will be mobile in ILQP tomorrow and will log in Excel.  I’ve had it with this for now.

Any other ideas will be appreciated and dealt with as I have time. TIA 73, Jim N9JF

To clarify, once I shut down the program and restart, I simply type in the frequency of the “new band” (e.g., 7050) or click on the band/mode desired in the list on the left, as I was always able to do with N1MM but have been unable to do with N1MM+.  73, Jim N9JF
