Re: Sending the exchange of the station worked?

Kent,

As mentioned lengthy queries have a further risk of confusion and as they vary in format, will result in the guy not coming back to you if it takes too long and he's focused on rate.

The common way a request for a clarification or fill - when there is just one item in a simple contest like this is just a very simple "AGN?"  You can use that query and it will be universally understood, without needing customization in any contest going forward.  Yes he will probably send the entire exchange but it's most likely still much faster than a custom query - and even if you do ask specifically for his age it's the rare op who will have a key exchange only macro setup.  Serious RTTY guys will likely have a age-only repeat setup, but they will generally have serious signals and you will copy them correctly most of the time.

Good luck!

Some times I may get a bad decode and would like it clarified but if I received the correct age the station only has to send qsl instead of his whole exchange.

Make sense?

No. There is no macro for that. Repeating the other station's exchange is generally considered to be a bad operating practice and not a feature you will ever find in N1MM.

Sending back the other station's exchange usually causes confusion and ultimately frustration by your QSO partner ... and, anyone listening.  Not a rule violation in any way, but just an unnecessary time waster in contesting.   However,  I personally welcome every  QSO, no matter how my QSO partner chooses to operate.

Re: S & P Problem

Phil Cooper

Hi all,

As per Steve's comment on the drop-down of the call, I noticed the same thing.

However, I have overcome this by using the F4 macro to only send my call twice, so if I click on F4 or press the actual F4 button, it still only sends my call, but it does put the call above into the callsign field.

Now, that is fine IF (big IF!) the one you want to call is that shown above the call field.

I've noticed that it quite often is NOT the call I want to work.

This is partly down to spots sent from AFSK users, who are often way off the actual frequency.

I've also noticed several calls close together, but only one shows above the call field.

That means I have to use F12 or press Alt-W to clear the call field and enter the call I want, as clicking on the wanted call will not clear the callsign field if it is already populated.

Like others, I prefer it the way it was.

I think it already is optional....turn on right click = enter in the settings....turn on ESM mode....right click should then emulate enter....I’m not in front of pc now to try it...

Have now made a change about this. If you right click in the DI RX window the callsign in the on-Deck window does not drop into the callsign field. If you are in ESM  and the Callsign window is empty and the MyCall button if highlighted and you press Enter the Callsign will drop to the callsign window.

I have built an experimental version and have uploaded to the link below..

To clarify, once I shut down the program and restart, I simply type in the frequency of the “new band” (e.g., 7050) or click on the band/mode desired in the list on the left, as I was always able to do with N1MM but have been unable to do with N1MM+.  73, Jim N9JF

This was changed a couple of weeks ago as a user pointed out it was not consistent across all modes. In the mark contest was the first contest that I worked with the change in place. It drove me nuts… If you right click in the DI window to send your call and a call is in the on-deck box it drops down automatically instead of sending your call like you want..

I’m not sure if I want to remove it or add a setting bypassing it if the user wants.

Trying to operate in the Jarts RTTY. I'm having a problem when I right click in the Digital Interface to send my Call Twice. When I do this if there is a call in the window above the call field it puts the call in the field and sends his call then mmy call twice. When I right click I only want it to send my call and not his. I had this problem last week in the Makrothen test as well. Hope this makes some sense. I must have change something that I'm not aware of.

When I change the Mode Control setting in N1MM to "Use Contest or Radio Mode" or "Always CW" it works normally for sending the F key CW messages in SPLIT setting.
