Go into DXlab Commander configuration and click the general tab. Check the box "no interrogation while transmitting".

Lost digital function

Gary Smith

Hi,

I normally have N1MM+ set so I can start
with MMTTY or for CW. I just saw a RTTY
spot and instead of clicking on the
"update" notice, said no, so I could get
to the RTTY station. For the first time in
a couple of years, the digital window did
not open.

I went to the window toggle in N1MM &
clicked on "Digital Interface" and that
started the MMTTY X scope window, but the
text screen window did not open. I've been
trying to get it going but no cigar, I
can't read digital now. Any suggestions
what I might engage to get the decoder
window in N1MM running again?

Odd, I've never had an issue with this for
the longest time.

Re: Spectrum waterfall colorl

Contrast … that’s the one. Yes I did mean the waterfall (lower section). I did not connect that function with changing colors. I must have clicked on that slider while trying to click on a signal in the waterfall.

Sometimes I see a signal in the waterfall that doesn’t jump out at you “upstairs”.

Thanks

Do you mean the background color in the waterfall, or in the spectrum side of the display? If it's the waterfall, there is a slider called "Contrast" that you can adjust that changes the background color in the waterfall  If it's in the spectrum side, right-click and use the "Toggle background color" menu item. I believe it toggles among three choices, not just two, so you may need to try it more than once to get the option you prefer.

Radio Command log file location?

Edward Gisske

I’m trying to chase down a problem with a TS-990S not responding to mode changes when clicking on a call in the available window that is in a different mode than the current radio mode. In the “Tools” menu, there is a command that looks helpful called “Radio Command Logging” that looks like it would be useful for trying to figure it out.

However…I’m not finding anything in the docs that tells me where the log file is located.

What am I missing??

While the FT-991A has a front-panel spectrum display, looking at the CAT reference manual I have not found a way for the radio to convey spectrum data to a computer. In the absence of some way to send spectrum data via the CAT control path, it looks to me as if you will need additional hardware (an external SDR of some kind) to generate spectrum data that a computer program (like N1MM+) can use.

I have the latest version (at least as of earlier this week) of N1MMLogger+ installed with a Yaesu 991A connected.  The frequency in the lower right corner tracks correctly, but the spectrum display is blank (see screenshot).  Granted that I am kinda a newbie to this program, but I can't figure out why I don't see anything.

IC-7600 N1MM+

Dennis McKinney

After many tries and suggestions I'm trying to get my IC-7600 setup for CW contesting. I use N1MM+ as my contest logger, but keying everything by hand. I have Fldigi working great with N1MM+ for RTTY. I'm using it connected to a Dell laptop (windows 10) via the USB and the Codec is correct all around. (I think)
My understanding is that in the config tab I only need to change the pin 4 to CW.  When I do that and hit any of the F keys, the rig keys, but now signal out, or sound at all.  I hope this is clear enough and I'm just not checking a box somewhere.
Just for info, I use WSJT-X and JtAlert for FT8/FT4 and FlDigi will do RTTY, Psk31, and many other modes I'm sure. FlDigi also will send CW using the macros, as a stand alone program.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Please feel free to contact me direct if need be, although I do like following lots of help issues provided here.

I log contest using VHFREG1, so with separated RST and Numbers (the advantage is the auto numbering).
So f.i. with the first station the RST is "599" and the serial is "1", this is displayed without trailing zero's
However ALSO the CW message keyer is  leaving out the trailing zero's: as keying 5991 not 599001 as you normally would do.
How can I solve this ?

Re: Keyboard up/down arrows function backwards

Tom Wagner (N1MM)

You have the spectrum window open on that computer.

The up/down keys needs to match the display. If only the bandmap is showing down is higher in frequency, up is lower since low frequencies are at the top.

With the spectrum window open there is an option to undo the spectrum default behavior, but only in bar chart mode.

*Reverse frequency scale in bar chart mode* – if you check this option, the low frequency of the spectrum will be at the top, matching the way the band map is oriented

when you press the down arrow key, it moves the VFO slightly up in

VFO down in frequency (up the band map).  The amount of change is
of course set in the Config, “Other” settings.  If you press
Ctrl-Down in the band map, you jump down the band map (up in

(down in frequency).

However, on this one computer we’re using with an IC-7610, things
behave in the completely opposite direction.  I’ve looked through
the documentation and through all the settings I could think of
but I cannot figure out why this is behaving backwards.

I’m hoping (fingers crossed), that I’ve over looked something
basic and we somehow inadvertently set something and we can change
it back.  Other ops have noticed this too so it’s not just me.

Bob,

I think someone has made a change directly to the ini file by adding a minus sign to the up/down increment number.

Delete the "-" sign for the Increment number in Config/Other

Mike,

The mults are counties. I expect that the program did not know the county of the W6’s.

Hi Everyone!

Full disclosure...I was using a very old version of N1MM+ (I think the popup said "437 days old" or something like) that this past weekend.
Reason?  Was using wife's laptop at a very remote Cape Breton , NS campground location with barely any internet, so didn't want to attempt
an upgrade under those condx.

So this is more just a question than a complaint....but when I did have access to Telnet spots (when I had internet), no W6's were shown in red in the bandmap,
EXCEPT those I had tuned across, heard their county, typed it in, but then couldn't get through the pileups, so then had to come back later. If it was one I needed, it showed in red.

Is this the expected behaviour? (like I said...old version...shakey internet, etc.) or should the logger 'know' their county?

I was not using call history, but I was using the master callsign database a la "SCP"

Just wondering !

Thanks for an enjoyable weekend in the CQP, you W6's and my eternal gratitude to the N1MM+ team.  What a great program and support,

Mike VE9AA......VE1TTT last weekend.

In N1MM+ ...

Two questions.

One, what do I set so ONLY SSB spots are shown in the two bandmaps (SO2V operation)?
Two, in KB Contest software you can type a zone number in the callsign field, hit Enter, and a window will appear and show all countries in that zone.
Does N1MM+ have the ability to do the same thing?
