setup guide for IC-7610

Tad Danley

Need to set up N1MM+ on a spare Win 10 laptop for NAQP SSB this weekend.  Don’t need cw or digital modes, just something that will track band and frequency.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Color coding of mults in WSJT-X

Tim K9WX

Operating in the WW Digi 1900z practice session, I found some inconsistent and incorrect color coding of mults in WSJT-X and N1MM.

This screen shot shows one round of CQ decodes in the N1MM Decode List

and here is the corresponding list in WSJT-X

NG4C: shows as a mult in N1MM but not in WSJT-X.  I had already worked the FM grid field so N1MM is incorrect.
K9SE: shows correctly as a dupe in N1MM but not in WSJT-X.
WB2KSP: shows as a non-mult in N1MM but as a mult in WSJT-X.  I had already worked the FN grid field so N1MM is correct.
K1JT: shows correctly as a dupe in N1MM but not in WSJT-X.
VE3MGY: shows correctly as a dupe in N1MM but not in WSJT-X.

At the time I captured these screenshots, I did NOT have WSJT-X in contest mode, in case that makes a difference.  I'm not sure what mode I had WSJT-X in when I worked each of the 3 dupe stations.

Had an issue with duplicate calls still showing as workable stations? Don't recall having the issue, in last week's practice. I can't say that they didn't show as duplicate in the log entry window, as I keep N1MM minimized, and use WSJT-X as stand alone, but they did show as workable, in WSJT-X decode list, along with WSJT-X window?

Solved: RE: Telnet problem identified but not solved

Marvin Bloomquist N5AW

I reported last week that I could not access  most of the clusters in the N1MM+ list. I was able to access many of them from my house but using the same computer at the hamshack with a different router I could only reach two or three. I got lots of suggestions but none solved the problem.  The owner of my ISP came out yesterday . First he changed the router. Didn't fix it.  After some further tests he changed the IP address of the router. Problem solved.  For some reason most of the telnet sites were blocking the old IP address. Why is a mystery but working fine now.

Re: Runtime error on 2nd launch of WSJT-X from N1MM+

Gary Hembree

Rick,
I am now able to switch TX focus from one WSJT-X window to the other and have the correct radio transmit with out having focus on the N1MM+ entry windows.  This speaks very highly of your fix since I am still using a DX Doubler SO2R box with a real parallel port card to drive it and use WinKeyer PTT and CW.  In fact I haven’t found any bugs in this experimental version at all.  Thanks again!

I have 2 USB Microsoft keyboards with each having a numpad. The keyboards work fine, but the numpads control only the first EW.  I wonder if this would work with keyboards with the numpad built in, but have not tried.

I am interested in working the ARRL Hiram Percy Maxim 150 event at the end of this month.  The exchange is RST and their ARRL/RAC section or RST and DX for a DX station. I wanted to know if N1MM could be used for this event? I am very new to using N1MM and was unable to find this event in the program, it may be there I just didn’t see it. If anyone could let me know if N1MM could be used for this event it would be great.

The experimental version works fine. FT4 opens without errors on both radios and TX is enabled without having to change focus on the underlying N1MM. Thanks much to you and the tesm for all your efforts.
