Solved: RE: Telnet problem identified but not solved

Marvin Bloomquist N5AW

I reported last week that I could not access  most of the clusters in the N1MM+ list. I was able to access many of them from my house but using the same computer at the hamshack with a different router I could only reach two or three. I got lots of suggestions but none solved the problem.  The owner of my ISP came out yesterday . First he changed the router. Didn't fix it.  After some further tests he changed the IP address of the router. Problem solved.  For some reason most of the telnet sites were blocking the old IP address. Why is a mystery but working fine now.

Rick,
I am now able to switch TX focus from one WSJT-X window to the other and have the correct radio transmit with out having focus on the N1MM+ entry windows.  This speaks very highly of your fix since I am still using a DX Doubler SO2R box with a real parallel port card to drive it and use WinKeyer PTT and CW.  In fact I haven’t found any bugs in this experimental version at all.  Thanks again!

I am interested in working the ARRL Hiram Percy Maxim 150 event at the end of this month.  The exchange is RST and their ARRL/RAC section or RST and DX for a DX station. I wanted to know if N1MM could be used for this event? I am very new to using N1MM and was unable to find this event in the program, it may be there I just didn’t see it. If anyone could let me know if N1MM could be used for this event it would be great.

Re: Loss of radio 2 control with ver 1.0.7900

Thank you Rick!  That cured the RTE plus I discovered that I can have both radios running WSJT-X at the same time now.  I hadn’t realized that was an option.  This change is very helpful for my two band meteor scatter operations.

Lew,

I upgraded my K3 SO2R N1MM+ setup to 1.0.7900 this morning and got a RTE when I tried to run WSJT-X from Radio 1.  Closed that instance and was then unable to open WSJT-X again until I closed and reloaded N1MM+.  However, I got the same RTE every time so I reverted back to 1.0.7883 and my setup is working normally.  When I have a chance I’ll document the RTE and file a bug report.  Too many other more pressing matters at the moment.

Something got changed with the K3 code in January around Ver 1.0.7467.  N1MM+ now has trouble following band and mode changes with multi-mode, multi-band logs with my SO2R K3 setup.  I haven’t take the time to do extensive documentation of this bug but just work around it.

Upgraded to ver 1.0.7900 from Ver 1.0.7883 and got an error when loading WSJT-X from inside N1MM+ on radio 2 only.  No frequency communication between radio 2 and N1MM+.  I did not get the run time error documented as I thought the problem was 2 new security updates that had just been run through Windows 10. I deleted the Windows updates and went back to Ver 1.0.7883 and things are back to normal.
Anybody else have radio 2 problems between N1MM+ and WSJT-X with Ver 1.0.7900?   Should I go back and recreate the run time error so that the coder gurus know what happened?

Re: SO2R and X-keys will it work?

Steve London

No, Kari. You have it backwards. X-keys intercepts and modifies the keystrokes before they are sent to N1MM Logger. Unfortunately, the x-key modified keystrokes have no identify as to which keyboard the keystrokes came from. This is exactly the same issue as AutoHotKey (AHK), which is a commonly-used keyboard remapping hook.

Steve, N2IC

Hi Andy, not what I know. I have tested one x-keys panel programmed with keystrokes from different keyboards but x-keys wont recognises these as from the same keyboard :(
But for a programmer it should be easy perhaps to add some script before the keyboard entry in x-keys?

Hello,

My suggestion to improve RQTC in CW is to change cursor behavior when it move between fields with space.
In my opinion the cursor should be set at the end of the string in field, not the beginning. Exactly as it works in main log window.
It will be much easier made correction in the field using habit from typical contesting.
