It's the file called N1MMWSJTInstructions.pdf, and it's dated June 15 2019.

There is different coverage of the same material in the online manual web page describing the WSJT Decode List window, at <https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com/manual-windows/wsjt-x-decode-list-window/>. That page was most recently edited on June 17.

When I load WSJT from the mm window drop down, I get error box, says in red close WSJT first to shut down properly, I shut down WSJT and reload, same message....WSJT seems to be controlling the rig, at least freq wise....did I miss a step?

Hi
Download the file from  N1MM+ site in Files/Callhistory files.
You can have the file temporary on your desktop.
Now move it to N1MM Logger+/CallHistoryFiles and SAVE.
Now, in N1MM+ File where you program your contest  or FD in Associated Files
you have to Click on Change and it will bring you to CallHistoryFiles.
You choose the file, you click OK.
In Config you may have to Enable Call History file lookup but the
file may do that auto.

You should be ready now to use on the air.
You can simulate a QSO
Enter my Call Sign VE2FK and do a SPACE
all the info should be in the entry window ready to log.

If you have problem, come again.

Thanks for the heads-up.  I thought we had exhausted all of the manual, I was obviously mistaken!  I'll take a look at that tomorrow when we finalize our setup.  Thanks a lot.

cat command to restore normal mic sound.

Phil, I'm so glad you brought this up. Last night, I figured out how to change the "Spare" F-10 macro to turn on VOX on my FTdx3k, and F-11 to turn it back off. This will allow me to enable my mic during those hopefully-few times I'll need to say something not pre-recorded.

This N1MM Logger+ stuff just keeps getting more and more awesome.

...or, as another option, you can run your mic directly through the computer sound card like I, and others do.

This would've been my preferred option. Unfortunately, due to some intricacies of what my Behringer mixer will and won't allow when it's trying to prevent USB-in-to-USB-out feedback, this didn't turn out to be possible.

I'm not going to explain WHY I have the Line Out audio from the FTdx3000 going in to a channel in the mixer, so that I can get it to the PC via the Mixer's USB... Oh who am I kidding, of course I am. It's because I like using the knobs of the mixer to adjust the AF gain (and more) while trying to get the best decode out of fldigi and WSJT-X. Sometimes I need it hotter, sometimes I need to back it off. It's so much quicker to twist a physical knob than to find some Windows Control Panel thing or Yaesu menu item. But since that's being used to feed RX audio to some digital mode apps, I can't also get my Condenser Mic (phantom power from same mixer) to then OUTPUT to the Main Out. The Behringer routing prevents this.

I've had worse problems to overcome. I'll be OK.

Logger+ Audio remembers the last used audio level.

Last used of what, I wonder.

Perhaps if I shut OFF N1MM, then use the volume up/down buttons to put Windows volume to 30, then START N1MM, if it will then always jump to 30. Hmm.

Yes, last night I did discover the slider in "Logger+ Audio" menu, and that did allow me to get my condenser mic and wav output pretty close, though I have that slider way down in the last millimeter of movement.

Eh... I'm sure I'll get the last of this settled out well enough.

Many thanks,

....or, as another option, you can run your mic directly through the computer sound card like I, and others do. The rig never 'knows' if it's a .wav file or your microphone as both sounds travel through the sound card.

It may no be elegant, but its super simple (right up my alley, hi hi) and it works well.

KDO,

Logger+ Audio remembers the last used audio level.

When the program starts Logger+ Audio stores the users audio level then sets the sound card audio level to the last setting made with the Logger+ Audio panel. When the program ends, the users audio level is restored.

Open the Logger+ Audio setup window. Slide the record and playback level to the correct level.

Oh boy... I wouldn't have even considered CAT commands to change SSB input source on the Transceiver. I don't envy you on that, Phil.

To my great fortune, I have a mixer on my desktop. USB audio from my PC goes into it, as does my microphone, so for me there is one and only one TX audio feed from my mixer to the Transceiver. I can press an F-key to transmit a wav file, or press the MOX button on the Transceiver to talk into the big metal thing hanging over my nose.

HOWEVER... N1MM Logger+ insists on changing the Windows Playback Device volume to 49 every time it kicks in. In my situation, that's too hot. And I haven't figured out how to change it. But if I could figure out the CAT command to adjust the Mic Gain of the Transceiver... hmm... this is makes-me-nervous territory. I can just see it turning the Mic Gain to 0, and getting stuck there, at just the wrong time.
