It was near the bottom of page 1 when I found it earlier today. As best as I can tell, it appears to generate a correct Cabrillo file. I don't know about the other issues you mentioned

I have had confirmation from 2 sources that the SPID RAU controller using the USB port/cable works using N1MM+ AlfaSpid software.

Hi sp5ewx

I have not purchased the SPID rotator but needed to know that it worked with N1MM before going any further.

A helpful radio ham from Scotland who already owns a SPID RAU and also required the settings for N1MM tried out the AlfaSpid software last night with N1MM and responded that it worked OK and no I cannot recall your previous comments on the SPID RAU rotator pse repeat or send your comments through the reflector or direct to alan@...

N1MM logger for WWV special event

markholbrook

Hi all,

I’m part of a club putting together a special event station to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of radio station WWV.

Our plan is to operate 4-6 stations from 28, September through 1, October 2019 at the WWV site in Fort Collins, CO.

Please see:   wwv100.com

We are in need of operators that would like to come to Fort Collins and be a part of this special event.

I’ve been placed in charge of setting up station logging.   I am strongly leaning toward using N1MM as the logger for all stations.

What I don’t know and I’m wondering if the group here can answer some questions:

  1. Since this is not a contest in the true sense of the word do I need to work with N1MM developers for a special “non-contest” module that will allow the logging to work?   I see this as similar to a DXpedition where we simply need to keep track of CALL, FREQ, BAND, MODE, DATE, TIME.  We don’t really care about duplicates and there really is no score other than how many contacts we make.   Suggestions would be appreciated.
  2. When we have networked our 5-6 stations and all are running N1MM does each station get a complete copy of the database?  I know the instances do talk for duplicate checking, but I’m wondering about ensuring we have a good backup of the log data.
  3. During the event we will have a highspeed network link and we plan to upload to ClubLog.  What is the best way do to this?  I have not tried to set something like this up in N1MM and I’m not sure if it even can.  So how do DXpeditions log data to ClubLog?
  4. After the event is over we will need to take the full database and perform a number of tasks including submission to a QSL Bureau and probably LOTW   Same question:   What is the best way to accomplish this?

I realize some of these questions might be answered in some prior DXpedition notes so I’m looking for those right now.  If anyone knows of any DXpeditions that did similar things please point me to their websites or locations where I might be able to ask or access their operations data.

Thanks in advance.

I hope to see some of you in Fort Collins for this event!   We are expecting a lot of activity.

Mark – WS7M

Bruce,
N1MM+ works fine with Flex v3. Zero issues. Also, nothing has changed in the CAT interface which is being used to interface the two.

What exact issues are you having?

N1MM Logger+ companion program for the IC-7610/7300

Björn Ekelund, SM7IUN

I have written a small piece of software for my own use but since so many have asked I post it here also.

It is a "convenience" companion to N1MM Logger+ for the IC-7610 and IC-7300. (Likely works for IC-785x but not IC-7800).

It consumes very little screen real estate and offers:
1. Configurable, automatic switching of waterfall edges and REF level based on mode (CW, Phone and Digital) and band.
2. Waterfall zoom, zooming in the waterfall to +/-10kHz around the current frequency (with its own REF level).
3. Per-band output power level (helpful when using PA, also includes is also a "barefoot" mode with 100% on all bands)

Changing the settings is done using two text boxes and two sliders. All settings are remembered,
including used COM port.

It's open source under the MIT license so anyone wanting to copy, extend, or customize
it is completely free to do so. Just clone the GIT in Visual Studio.

Since N1MM occupies the main CI-V port, it requires that your computer has access
to also the "Remote" CI-V port on the radio. It also requires "Radio" broadcast to be
enabled in N1MM.

Björn SM7IUN

  2. TinyFSK & Winkey: Adds AFC, LOCK, REV buttons to Digital window to control recievers controls. (Coded by N2AMG)
  3. Digital RX windows and CW Reader windows: Added Fldigi AFC controls to each window when Fldigi is the choosen engine. (Coded by N2AMG)
  4. MMVARI was not working correctly while being used as a Reciever for TinyFSK and Winkey this is now corrected. Coded by N2AMG)
  5. Changes to Supporting code for Fldigi. In the new version of Fldigi the XMLRPC Rig Interface has been removed
  6. XML RPC code will still be recieved by Fldigi but not thru the rig interface. (Coded by N2AMG)
  7. Fldigi waterfall now follows correct direction depending on the mode configured on Mode tab in Config for PSK and RTTY. (Coded by N2AMG)
  8. Fldigi Align now calculates correct frequency depending on the mode configured on Mode tab in Config for PSK and RTTY. (Coded by N2AMG)
  9. When using Fldigi and the user has RTTY set to be used as the mode to use on the Mode tab Fldigi now places the rig frequency on the RTTY Sweet spot (Coded by N2AMG)
  10. SO2R: Display the current value of configurations in the menu. This makes it easier to check the current settings (Coded by KU7T)
  11. If either of the digital windows are open they are closed and reopened after exiting the Config area. (Coded by N2AMG)

If you operated the Gagarin Cup contest this past weekend, download and install the experimental version for GCup located here:

Export the Cabrillo with this version and resubmit your log.

I was not home and was unable to operate this year. However, from past experience it is important to log the zone that is sent to you, not the zone that is in the pre-populated database which is sometimes wrong on Russian zones.

Tom Wagner (N1MM)

I borrowed an IC7610 from Icom to develop the I/Q interface for the radio.  I will return it on 4/30.

I have some improved SO2V code for the 7610 and the best time to fix any bugs in it is while I still have one in my possession.

If you would like to help test the support, please contact me direct at 7610@....

Thanks.

Adding digirite?

Hi all,

I’ve just heard of an open source program for FT8 that is normally integrated into Writelog. It seems from the literature that this could be run stand alone, but doesn’t do any rig control or logging. It sounds like it could be integrated into N1MM Logger + to good effect? Any thoughts?

Cheers and thanks,

I hate to expose my ignorance but it's sometimes the only way to get smarter. Ha.  Where would I find the setting for N1MM+ contest category?  I've done a search on the online help to no avail.

Re: DXLab Gateway ?

What do you mean by "contest category" - the entry category (single-op, multi-op, unassisted, assisted, high power, low power, etc.), or do you mean the choice between different contests with different exchanges?

Both of them are in the Contest Setup dialog window (File > Open Log in Database..., or if you are creating a new contest log, File > New Log in Database...). The contest type (ARRL FD, CQ WPX, etc.) is in the scrollable selector at the top of the window. The entry category is in one or several entry boxes lower down in the window.
