I use ctrl-downarrow all the time, and have never seen that behavior.  I have an Autohotkey script for the Bandmap/Available Window skipping functions.  I have never seen any of them fail to jump.  I suggest trying another keyboard.

I posted this before but never had a response.  I use the Ctrl+down arrow to jump to spots in the bandmap.  Often the Entry window shows the next workable spot, but the radio remains on the previous frequency.  If I hit Ctrl+down arrow again,, the radio correctly jumps to the next spot, leaving the previous spot lonely.  Is this an anomaly of N1MM Plus, my computer or my radio?

URGENT: Logs wanted for next release of SuperCheckPartial

Stu K6TU

Hi Folks!

I am planning to release a new version of the Super Check Partial database files on November 2nd, 2018. I am requesting your logs for input to the database files. Please send your logs for this release by noon PDT November 1st, 2018.

If you would like to contribute your CABRILLO format logs for the SCP database, please send them at any time to:

logs@...

You can send more than one log attachment in a single email BUT PLEASE DON’T SEND THEM IN A ZIP file!

Please DO NOT SEND ADIF encoded logs…

If there is a new contesting call sign you want added to the database for activity in the next few months, let me know before the next update cutoff time. Please send your requests for adds/deletions etc. in an email to logs@... WITHOUT ANY ATTACHED logs otherwise the email robot will process the logs automatically and your request will not be seen.

However... note that the monthly SCP database gets about 1500 downloads per month. This suggests that the majority of contesters are using an old version of the database probably between 12-18 months out of date. As a result, there is little utility in adding a call that you intend to use in only one or two contests.

At any time, please attach in an email the same Cabrillo format log that you submitted to the contest sponsor and send it to

logs@...

I have all logs submitted since the last release of the database files on October 2nd, 2018 and today - If you have already sent me your logs, there is no reason to send them again.

Logs from any contest within the last 24 months are always appreciated.

Some of the more commonly submitted logs are from:

CQ WW DX - CW, Phone, RTTY
CQ WPX - CW, Phone, RTTY
CQ 160M - CW, Phone
ARRL DX - CW, Phone
ARRL Sweepstakes - CW, Phone
ARRL RTTY Roundup
ARRL 10M
ARRL 160M
IARU Radiosport
Russian DX Contest
Worked All Europe - CW, Phone, RTTY

NOTE: NAQP logs are particularly under-represented in the log pool as are other contests where the manager now requires submission via a web form. Logs from these contests are especially requested!

Thanks for your help!

ESM One special feature not working

I'm using callsign voicing. I can't get feature described above to work. Did not change assignments of functional keys neither messed up with macroses, but last part of this feature does not work as expected. When callsign is entered, exchange is entered, F3-TNX and Log It buttons are marked to be ready to sent, if Enter is pressed, Callsign is being transmitted along with exchange. Al lthis instead of what has to be:"
I can send more information if requested (macroses, screenshots and even short video)
Anybody uses this feature? Have it working?

Fred,

I am also experiencing dropped or slow emails on groups.io. If there is an easy fix for this I wish I knew what it is.

Here is today's example:
  1. At 6:36pm yesterday Peter posted his "N1MM+ CAT issue with HF AUTO TUNER" query
  2. At 11:00pm yesterday Terry responded to Peter's post
  3. At 1:47am today I received Terry's response
  4. At 4:48am today I responded to Terry response
  5. At 5:43am today I {finally} received Peter's original posting
Where was Peter's original posting for those 11 hours?

Re: N1MM+ CAT issue with HF AUTO TUNER in SO2V dual VFO mode

Larry K8UT

Terry,

I'm a little confused as to whether you're asking about UDP packets or serial CAT traffic... but for UDP broadcasts:

When there are no changes to the radio status (frequency/band/mode...) N1MM+ sends keep-alive UDP <RadioInfo> broadcast packets describing each VFO/Radio every 10 seconds. The packets contain the number of the radio described in the packet, the number of the radio that currently has Entry Window Focus, and the number of the radio that is the Active Tx Radio.

In SO2V, N1MM+ treats each VFO as a "radio," which means that Radio1's Freq and TXFreq fields in the UDP packet are both listed as the frequency of VFOa, and similarly Radio2's Freq and TXFreq fields in the UDP packet are both listed as the frequency of VFOb.

It sounds as if the HFAUTO software is reacting to each packet that arrives, tuning for VFOa frequency then retuning for VFOb frequency. When those two UDP packets arrive every ten seconds, the tuner needs to ignore the frequency for packets from the VFO (radio) that does not have Active Tx status.

The most recent version of the HFAUTO software, 3.7.1.6, has the capability of selecting WHICH radio is used for the TX CAT information.

I’m not sure I’ve tried it with SO2V rather than SO2R and don’t know what the UDP messaging is with S02V…

Hello All,S
Earlier today I was in the process of doing my final testing for the contest and an issue cropped up that I can't figure out.

It involves N1MM+ only in SO2V mode (with both VFO A and VFO-B entry windows open) and the control software for the HF-AUTO tuner. No other logging app does this, just N1MM, so I'm guessing it's a setting within the logger. It does NOT do this if only one entry window is open, or in regular SO1V mode.

Here's what's happening:

I have the antenna tuner software set to use CAT control to poll the radio for the TX VFO frequency. When the entry window for VFO-B is open but VFO-A has focus every few seconds the tuner reads the VFO-B frequency and attempts to move the L/C network to the VFO-B settings. You can observe the VFO-B frequency showing up in the HF-AUTO Tuner software. One second later, the tuner moves back to the VFO-A frequency, waits a few more seconds and repeats the cycle.

Likewise if I'm on VFO-B, the tuner will briefly attempt to move to VFO-A, in exactly the same manner as above, only reversed. This is 100% repeatable. Since I require a tuner on 40 and 80 phone, this means I can't use SO2V in CQWW on those two bands. Is there ANY way around this?

SO2R / SSB PTT question

kc2pih

I am using N1MM+ and I have a YCCC SO2R+ configured.   When I hit F1 in N1MM+, the SO2R+ is using the PTT line to key the radio. SO2R+ log output:

Connected to SO2R Box version 1.4-0
* KE command 0x18 0x00
* Received SO2R State 0x03
* KE command 0x18 0x01
* Received SO2R State 0x0b
* KE command 0x18 0x00
* Received SO2R State 0x03
* KE command 0x0a
...

I can't figure out which setting in N1MM+ or the SO2R+ that will stop the PTT closure when I hit F1. I just want to use VOX for keying the radio.  Yes, I know I can unplug the PTT lines, but I am remote to the station. I have all forms (CAT, etc)  of PTT disabled for the radios in N1MM+.

Inadvertant Frequency Entry

Jim Stahl K8MR

Several times while traveling the roads of Pennsylvania in the PA QSO Party I found myself CQing on 3501 or 7001. Apparently I had entered a "1", followed by an "Enter" in order to send an exchange or CQ while in ESM mode, which then QSYed the radio to  **01.

Might it be possible to change things, or at least provide the option, to require two digits to be entered in order for an entry to be recognized as a frequency command? I.e. requiring entering "01" to get a QSY to **01?

Thank you all.

This is not for my station. I use a K3 and Microkeyer 2's soundcard which works perfectly. Alas, this station has no K3 cable for their two Microkeyer 2's (normal radios here are two FT5000'ds.)

I will look into K3CT's suggestion.  And thanks Joe, W4TV regarding the MCU software, which is probably not up to this level.

NA4MB, regarding recording messages, this is what I ALWAYS do in my personal station. Unfortunately, not an option on this particular Multi Op environment at this time.

Re: Spectrum Monitor Stopped Working on Flex 6600 in Remote Operation

Russ Ravella <rus5@...>

I think I figured this out.  Spectrum Monitor only connects to the Flex when they're on the same LAN (via UDP?).  When I returned from the trip during which I had this problem and hooked everything up on the same network (Ethernet LAN in my case, WiFi LAN would be the same), everything worked fine again.  Oddly (and thankfully) the Telnet spot function can be broadcast from N1MM+ via UDP explicitly and works fine remotely.  A UDP port seems to be automatically set up in the Flex CAT list to connect the data path.  I wonder if there's a way to manually do this for the Spectrum Monitor function too.  If there is, I can't see it.  Incidentally, this is also the case with Slice Master.  Don Beaudry the developer of Slice Master was kind enough to respond to my request for help and is working to update Slice Master to work remotely with Flex radios.

It would be great if the developers of N1MM+ could do the same with spectrum monitor (everything else works great as far as I can tell).

Re: K3s Internal Soundcard with N1MMPlus "Logger+ Audio"

In addition, to solve your immediate problem, record the voices elsewhere and copy to the correct folders. Or switch N1MM to use the mic from the PC with N1MM.

I’m sure the suggestion above will solve your problem.

We are having an issue with using the internal USB sound card with Logger+ audio for DVK.
We have been able to get N1MM to show the soundcard in the Logger+ audio environment by selecting it in the pull down boxes. However, we cannot record messages into the system, therefore we cannot play back via the F-Keys. We get an error message in N1MM that states "Recording aborted". We tried the same settings on another computer using its INTERNAL sound card (NOT the radio's sound card) and everything records and plays back perfectly. We have disabled the computer's sound card so that there is no contention with the radio internal sound card.
The only difference in a working and a non working configuration is that we are not using the radio sound card.
What appears to be happening is that the microphone signal is not being routed into the recording system. The microphone works normally with the radio, however, it does not seem to be routed into the recording section of the internal K3s sound card.
The microphone signal is being brought into the radio via the rear panel jacks on the K3s. Our assumption is that the microphone is in parallel with the radio's transmitter input and the soundcard mic input within the K3s internal environment.
We worked till midnight last night on this, attempted many configurations, and no joy.
Anyone know the secret of making this work?
Thanks in advance for your help.
