I have N1MM+ on ASUS Transformer Mini T102 (w/ Windows 10).

Have used it in 3 contests - and it works fine.

However, haven't tried WSJT-X.

Thanks for the quick reply, Axel. You're right - somehow my Configure Station Data got changed back to my home QTH even though I haven't used that computer since returning from DL! Maybe the Station Data gets re-populated from a database file when you select an old contest, something I may have done while researching the mult issue. All is well now.

You have to ensure to have the correct wl_cty.dat with Y8 as DL loaded.
You also should have the Y8 call (and may be the correct CQ/ITU zones) in the station setup.

We had 8 teams showing higher results and it was soon clear that the software thought they are QRV from NA.

If you have the right wl_cty.dat loaded a rescore should do the work.

Not sure about the HQ mults, they should be independed from the wl_cty.dat of course.

KU8E will be operating in two island groups with two call signs.

W4AN  - NA-138  Ameila Island , FL
KU8E   - NA-058   Jekyll Island , GA

These two groups are only about 35 miles apart in South Georgia and Northern Florida. I will probably be in NA-138 about the first 5-6 hours of the contest  then will drive to NA-058 and continue from there until about midnight or so. I will be using the mobile antenna setup that I used in this years Florida QSO Party.

Tom Wagner (N1MM)

It's a pretty low performance processor.  You would want to avoid big databases, big packet flows and serial/parallel cw generation.  Get a Winkey mini or a Mortty. If you are doing RTTY, get a Mortty configured for RTTY.

This computer has a cpubenchmark.net # of 1277 with a single thread rating of 416.  That's pretty low.  You could buy this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834847049&ignorebbr=1 for $269 used.  It has a rating of 8121 and a single thread rating of 1211 and has 8 GB of memory.  But it weighs 5.4 lbs.

N1IXF just ordered one.  Ask him how it performs in a week or two.

The intent is to run a VERY lightweight travel kit, with the tablet, a KX2, and a Buddistick. I will have cluster (Internet) access, but I always filter spots as tightly as possible at the cluster node, to reduce local traffic. This will be for casual DXpeditioning, and not for heavy-duty contest operation. I will transfer logs to my everyday logger (MacLoggerDX) after a trip, via ADIF export.

I’m wondering if the tablet will have sufficient horsepower, and if anyone has had problems with this kind of setup. The tablet mentioned above has a 1.92 GHz 8032 processor, $ GB of RAM, and 128 GB of Solid State memory. It runs Windows 10 (NOT Windows 10 “tablet”, which I understand has severe limitations on what applications can be loaded).

Thoughts, concerns, and alternatives are welcome.

Re: MMTTY with N1MM COM port issues and strange COM port numbers

WA5LXS

Thanks Rick. I could not choose EXTFSK64 in MMTTY while using the settings within N1MM, but I could set it using MMTTY in stand alone mode. After changing my COM72 port to COM11 it did not complain about the COM port. However, we have been invaded by our seven grandkids so I have not been able to verify if MMTTY is now working properly. Perhaps I need to copy EXTFSK64 to a folder inside N1MM

IC-7300 Resources Page: UPDATE 23 JULY 2018

Hi

I have just updated the IC-7300 Reference Page, which incorporates several items of new material since the February update:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
http://g3nrw.net/IC-7300
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

First of all, thanks to the many people who sent me emails over the last few months since the introduction of the IC-7300 Resources Page last November. The reaction continues to be very positive, and several people included details of items to add to the site.

What’s new this month:

DOCUMENTATION The Icom firmware v1.30 manual

SOFTWARE There is a new entry for the home page of the Silicon Labs Virtual COM port driver for all platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android.

FIRMWARE Icom recently released version 1.30 of the IC-7300 firmware.
Remember: the firmware update process includes a full reset of the rig, so if you have made any changes to user settings that you want to keep, you should save them first on an SD card, and load them back in again after the firmware update. Also remember that each firmware upgrade contains all previous upgrades, so there is no need to revert to previous versions.

HOWTOs Added links to three documents:
— Push2Tune: Detailed Push-to-Tune schematic for the IC-7300, by
W7ARK
— HOW to use fldigi and flrig with the IC-7300, by John Wells, KB0NE
— SO2R with two IC-7300s, by JA1NLX

OTHER SOFTWARE Added link to Win4Icom site

OTHER HARDWARE Three additions to this page:
— FA-AS Automatic Antenna Selector
— Analog S-meter PCB
— Wire Bale Desk Stand

That’s it for the new entries this time. I hope you find the site useful, and as usual I welcome any additions and corrections to the site for the next update to the G3NRW IC-7300 Resources Page.

26 July 2018.

How to log a zero

John MM0JOM

many contest (eg IOTA, RSGBLP) advise to log zero if no number is received in the exchange. N1MM does not like the zero and it is required to force log it  requiring multiple key strokes/mouse clicks. Is there an alternative

Jim,

Actually it was Tom, N1MM, who came up with the fix last year.

I don't know what caused the change in my case, either.

Jim, this happened to me last year. The fix required going to Windows Settings and going through the following screens:
Time & Language
Region & Language
Additional date, time, & regional settings
Change date, time, or number formats
Additional settings
Number of digits after decimal (change from 0 to 2)

If you get to that last step and the number of digits after the decimal is shown as 2 already, your problem must be different.

Good luck!

Receive Frequency

It's completely a matter of preference, but I would like to NOT have the receive frequency noted in the ADIF file, prior to loading into DX4WIN? I can understand the reasoning for a split operation, but not "same frequency" operation?
