Has anyone tried this out? I have a feeling that it may not work as expected in ESM, but I think I would be happy without ESM, if this worked.

Many RTTY contested use two or more decode windows. The screen is only so high so they shrink each one down to three or four lines and stuff scrolls up fast.

I thought there used to be a checkbox to engage this stripping function for MMTTY but I failed to find it. Or was this hard coded into N1MM+ or ???

There weren't many stations using excess CR/LF, but there were enough that I had to chase the information up the screen. Due to very limited laptop screen space, I can only display about 5 lines (10 total) for the two decoders. It doesn't take too many CR/LFs to scroll the information into oblivion!

Re: Dueling CQ on RTTY

Jeff AC0C

Strictly within the context of the RTTY mode ONLY, I suggest that the configuration yielding highest rate would work like this:

ESC – stop sending.   Dueling CQ remains unchanged or moves to off, depending on operator config (as you suggest below)

When in the dueling mode, and a call sign is clicked on or otherwise entered on in one of the DI window – dueling CQ mode would move to off – but the other session would move to auto-repeat, continuing to cycle CQ on the one session only.

Dueling CQ has worked this way since July of 2015 and this is the first anyone has said they wanted it the same as CW and SSB. This was requested a number of times in Feature requests so I finally made it that way. I suppose I can make it settable so I will add this to my list…

I can do dueling CQ on CW, PH and RTTY. If I use  the ESC key to stop the CQ or enter a call, RTTY shuts off dueling CQ. On CW and PH, Dueling CQ function continues. I think this just started.

I used this feature a couple of times yesterday in NAQP and noticed this as a surprise.

Also, by any chance was there a yellow vertical bar on the left-hand edge of the screen?  That indicates the screen is paused.  Just right-click on it and the window will resume operating, and the bar will turn green.

No. They are not needed. AA5AU’s RTTY site has some pointers on when to use line feeds. And in RTTY there are carriage returns and line feeds. Not sure which one N1MM uses with {ENTER}. I think it’s just one line feed and one carriage return. In other words, just starts a new line.

Re: Carriage Returns and Spaces [1 Attachment]

ve3ki@...

The non-scrolling option does not work in the additional receive panes when they are attached to the main DI window, but it does work when the additional receive window is not attached (in the DI window, uncheck the Setup > Add. RX Windows > Enable Attached RX Windows option).

The detached RX window takes up more screen space, but you can work around that. If you  make the main DI window smaller by the size of the upper pane that is no longer attached, resize the additional window so that the text pane is the same size and shape as the upper pane was in the attached window, slide the additional window so that the bottom part that you are not using will overlap the title bar of the main DI window, and allow other windows such as the Entry window to overlap the unused upper part of the additional window, you can get pretty much the same information to be displayed in the same amount of screen real estate. Takes a bit of fiddling, and depending on your screen layout you may have to arrange windows somewhat differently from before, but it can be done.
