At the bottom centre of the Manage Skins, Colors and Fonts window there is a listbox with the title Tool Tips, with three possible values: None, Standard and Balloon.

Victor,

I also encountered an error when trying to >File >Export >Export to file (generic).

As a workaround, you could >Export to ADIF file, then convert to an Excel CSV file that you can edit/sort/graph/manipulate however you’d like. You’ll find my ADIF -to- CSV conversion program on my website under >File Gallery.

So has anyone come up with a diagnosis and fix for this?  I too am trying to do an "Export to File (Generic?" from a CQWW RTTY log and get an error and a .txt file with nothing but the headers.  A window entitled Open Error pops up with a message that says: Error opening G:\HamRadio\N1MM_Plus_User\ExportFiles\PJ6A.txt - Export aborted.

This happens both on the Windows 7 laptop used during the contest and on a Windows 7 desktop to which I copied the database from the contest.

What I'm really looking for is a data output that shows mult and point status for each QSO.  Ultimately I want to make a graph showing score versus time and the generic file export that I can then put into Excel seems to be the only path toward that goal.

On a side note, a cumulative score versus hour would be a nice addition to the Statistics window choices.

Thread trimming was: Re: [N1MMLoggerplus] Re: Winkey Sidetone

Pete Smith N4ZR <n4zr@...>

Well, Mike, in the last year I have posted about a half-dozen messages on this reflector asking folks to include the thread in their messages, and telling them where on the Yahoo web interface to find the option to do so.  Unfortunately it needs to be done with every message.  Thread trimming, in this broadband era where essentially nobody is paying by the kilobyte, seems to me at best anachronistic

Use of the web interface, seems to me, is basically an extension of the texting paradigm.  It's all very well if you're not trying to do customer support, and are only interested in occasional messages on topics you care about.  We don't get that luxury - and being able to look quickly over all the current threads , to see which have already been taken care of by others, is a key benefit for me. If there is a way to have Thunderbird call up all prior messages in a thread, I haven't found it yet.

Re: Winkey Sidetone

ve3ki@...

The check box caption is "Paddle only sidetone", not "Paddle only". It means sidetone that is produced only from paddle keying and not from computer-generated keying.

Some people (notably when using SO2R) do not want to hear any sidetone created by computer-generated CW, and turn their rigs' monitor sidetone off, but when using paddles, they need sidetone from the keyer as part of the hand-ear feedback they need while using the paddle. Other people leave the rig's monitor sidetone on and do not want to hear any sidetone from the keyer, regardless of the keying source. That is why there is an option for paddle-only sidetone.

Hi Vytenis

I got the problem solved here thanks to Pete's suggestion.  It was a problem in the sizing on the window.  It was so small it was just barely a dot on the screen.  Changed the numbers and now the bandmap is working fine.

Thanks for  your suggestion - I was going to try that next.  73

Tom, perhaps shortest way to fix the problem is to rename your n1mm logger.ini to something like xxxn1mmlogger.ini and take one of the backups ini file which is named something like n1mm logger.ini weekday.bak and rename it to n1mm logger.ini

Duplicate Stations showing up in Available Window

I think this is a bug:

Contest: California QSO Party

Version 1.0.5232.0

OS: Windows 10

I am using Wintelnet 4.21 to receive spots from both the RBN and DX Cluster.  Stations that I have already worked that are spotted on the DX Cluster are showing up occasional in the Available Window.  I note that the duplicate stations that are showing up in the Available Window all include comments.

There is also a "Paddle Only Sidetone" checkbox on the same tab, if memory serves.

You might also try running the K1EL WinKey utility to configure the WinKey USB if you can't get the sidetone to shut off.

I use and have used a WinkeyUSB to key my FT-5k for a couple years now without issue.

I upgraded my computer and did a fresh install of N1MM+.  Now, whenever I hand key and N1MM+ is running, I hear the keyer sidetone that is generated inside the keyer.  I can't for the life of me find what setting I've messed up so that the keyer is silent.

    Thanks Bob W0GXA

Re: Winkey Sidetone

If the keyer is working, you are not getting any sidetone from computer-sent CW, but you are getting sidetone from the paddles, then in the Configurer under the Winkey tab, in the Winkey 2 pane in the middle of the window make sure that "Paddle only sidetone" is not checked.
