Richt-click on the desktop, select Screen Resolution.  Once that window comes up, select Make Text Larger or Smaller (at lower left).  you'll be given a choice of 100, 125 or 150%.  Rick's saying that it is probably set to 125% now..

The 125% display accounts for the second screen grab. Try resetting to 100% (Control Panel > Display). As for the first one, try right-clicking in the second Entry window and checking to make sure that the "Show Function Key Panel" item is checked. It looks as if this is not checked in the second Entry window.

Here are screen grabs illustrating two issues. The first I've been
seeing for at least a week, perhaps only since I started using this
computer -- the default window size doesn't show the complete window,
and cannot be resized. I can see everything if I set the window to full
screen.

In the second screen grab, you see that I lost F-Keys in the right
window. This happened in the last 60 minutes of NAQP RTTY. I've rebooted
both the computer and Logger Plus at least twice since then.

Re: Observation from NAQP RTTY

jpescatore@...

I only made 275 Qs in the NAQP RTTY, but I did notice this behavior about 10% of the time, it seemed mostly when I was S&Ping, but I can't swear it didn't happen during running, too:

Hit Enter to send my callsign to CQer
He comes back to me, I click on  his call - fills callsign box
He sends Spock TX.
I click on Spock, fills name field.
I click on TX, TX goes into name field - either nothing goes into State field, or Spock goes there.

I'm not sure if it is related, but many don't send a space after the end of their exchange, so the State field might have been garbled. I don't remember what the Mouse Over field was showing.

So, maybe the click on the State (TX in above example) was really clicking on "TX.TOOBZGGG" or whatever garbage came after, so it assumed it was a second click on the name?

I'm having the same issue ad K9WX. I would prefer on click to stop the Run radio and send the reply on the S & P Radio.

Yes. And 2Tone appears to be stripping leading spaces in macros. That's
my problem. And it also seems to be stripping spaces on RX.

That's exactly what I'm suspecting. Does he still read this reflector,
or is there a better way to contact him?

It's awfully important to have a leading and trailing space to separate
data from noise, and to have something to click on. :)

I concur with the "2 click" issue cited here by WW3S. See my post from several days ago, message #11767, although my observation was about right mouse clicking in the DI Window to send F4 on the S&P radio rather than clicking directly on the F4 macro button in the S&P's Entry Window. But, it seems like it is the same underlying behavior.

I don't understand why 2 clicks is the "preferred" operation. Or, maybe I would appreciate the current behavior if I understood its advantages.

The reason its 2 clicks is everyone can’t be pleased!.. Previously I had focus change to the DI when mousing over the RX window users complained so that was removed. And now other users want it back.

I really don’t want to add another setting that will confuse users more than some are…

I will have to think about what to do..

If I put {stoptx} in my CTRLF4 message it works with 1 click.

I don't understand why 2 clicks is the "preferred" operation. Or,

I agree, mousing over the DI window should not grab focus.....I have two monitors (had that wasnt enough yesterday !!!!!) so I dont mouse over them much.......but I’m talking about clicking a F key in the entry window.....if I click a key, its because I want to send something, and I shouldnt have to click once to grab focus, and click a second time to send....and I’ve heard from at least one other user that he has CTRLFx working in a macro.....do I need to change a setting to make that work?

Why not provide a user option configurable. There are a lot of options on the program already and making this hard coded one way or the other. If a guy is confused about a function’s operation, then its the job of the guy who’s confused to learn how to use the program properly.

Dumbing down the operation and forcing a choice between two valid options seems a bad way to go. Especially when it changes how the program worked historically.

No there is no way to get a bigger hit box. The routine separates like this

If CH = " " Or CH = Chr(13) Or CH = vbLf Or CH = "-" Or CH = "(" Or CH = ")"
Or CH = "," Or CH = "." Or CH = "/" Then

What is between those characters is what will get clicked on. It is best to
train your eyes to watch the whole window and not just watch the line you
are going to be clicking on. If the state shows up in the mouse over window
at the top of the RX window then that is going to be transferred to the
entry window.

For lack of a better way to describe it, Can we get bigger "hit boxes" for
the elements?

If the line moved up as you were clicking on it then you clicked on nothing
and that moves the cursor other places?

I felt like you had to be very precise in clicking the state. The name was
never a problem.

it placed it where the cursor had moved to after the state box was filled..

same here......sometimes it was fine, sometimes a real PITA.......I thought
Classic had some sort of logic where only a 2 character word would go in the

Anatoli from going in there.....

Wondering if anybody else is seeing this? Logger+ correctly follows my Omni 6+ vfo as I tune the band. But if I click on a bandmap spot, the vfo freq does not change to the spot frequency. The spot callsign correctly goes into entry window but my Omni 6+ freq is not being set correctly.

What baud rate Tom? Are you using 1200 baud as suggested or higher baud
rate?

It may also be related to vintage of the radio. I'm using a very late
production model with 1.02 firmware.

Something is obscure to me.
John what's inside the admin database that couldn't be moved onto others PC?
That's what Dave is asking for, isn't?
What's, from inside the admin database, that become in conflict with a set Associated Files from a Contest log-DB when moving the whole N1MM+ environment from a PC to another?

I'd tried to get back on the tread, but I still don't understand that well, sorry.
May be all this is referring just to the standard installation, isn't?

I found the only way I could S&P using the second radio was to right click
to call and then if answered, left click on the call. If I clicked on the
call, it defaulted to the AGN F8 button. Too many times, the call had moved
off the screen.

This was not expected. You should be able to click on the call and still
have have the CALL F4 button highlighted.

Other than that....everything was great.

That was it, Rich. Funny -- it was on in one window and off in the other.

Perhaps it's another option that ought to die, like autocomplete calls. :)

N1MM Issues

Jim Brown

Here are screen grabs illustrating two issues. The first I've been
seeing for at least a week, perhaps only since I started using this
computer -- the default window size doesn't show the complete window,
and cannot be resized. I can see everything if I set the window to full
screen.

In the second screen grab, you see that I lost F-Keys in the right
window. This happened in the last 60 minutes of NAQP RTTY. I've rebooted
both the computer and Logger Plus at least twice since then.

Yes. And 2Tone appears to be stripping leading spaces in macros. That's
my problem. And it also seems to be stripping spaces on RX.

I think I remember David saying that it strips Returns and spaces so
possibly something with that?

That's exactly what I'm suspecting. Does he still read this reflector,
or is there a better way to contact him?

It's awfully important to have a leading and trailing space to separate
data from noise, and to have something to click on. :)

Hi Tim

Mine is in F-11. The macro is {stoptx}{crtlF4}. It only works when I am running. I can't click on it when in the S&P mode and send Ctrl F4. If I am CQ'ing and hear a station on the other radio, it will stop the CQ and send my call on the other radio.

I don't think it is needed as much when doing S&P, at least not here. 73

Re: can't grab bandmap spots with Omni 6+

I have my O6+ set for 9600 baud and all seems to work fine. For me this is a temporary rig to use until my new K3 comes in this coming week, but my O6+ sure still sounds great!

Yes, my firmware is also 1.02. I also had modified the filtering in this Omni so the audio (band noise) was cut off at about 800 hz which was a really good move. I think my mod is still on my old web page at

What baud rate Tom?  Are you using 1200 baud as suggested or higher baud rate?

It may also be related to vintage of the radio.  I'm using a very late production model with 1.02 firmware.

Please submit logs to Super Check Partial - esp. NAQP logs!

Stu K6TU

Folks,

With the NAQP log entry now being via a web page rather than email submission, could I gently ask folks to email their Cabrillo formatted NAQP logs to logs@... before deleting the file so carefully generated by your logging software?

NAQP logs are present in only very small numbers within the current rolling 24 month pool of logs used to generate the Super Check Partial database.

Due to many requests, I will be issuing an updated SCP database TOMORROW March 2nd in time for the upcoming ARRL DX SSB contest this next weekend.

All call update requests in hand by 20Z March 2nd (thats tomorrow) will be included in the database.

In the meantime thank you for all the logs and please, please those CABRILLO logs coming!
Thanks

Re: 2 things in RTTY I wish we could fix

Tim K9WX

Part of the challenge here may be that we have some RTTY users that are predominately keyboard ops and some users that are predominately mouse ops.

I'll let the keyboard operators speak for themselves but I'm predominately a mouse operator.  I'm OK with the current behavior of a DI Window not grabbing focus when you simply mouse over the window.

But, under current behavior, a right click in a DI Window will send the next ESM message from that window's associated radio, regardless of whether or not the DI Window or it's associated Entry Window has the focus.  Unless, the other radio is calling CQ. (I have not tested for the case where the other radio is TXing something other than a CQ.)  Then, it takes two right mouse clicks in the first DI Window to stop the CQ on the second radio and send the desired ESM message from the first radio.

My preference as a mouse operator would be that a single right click in either DI Window always sends the next ESM message from the associated radio (assuming "RT Click = Return NOT Menu" is selected in the DI Window set up).

In any event, I'm glad to know that what I thought might be a problem with my set up is not that.  And, I will be able to live with whatever the final design decision might be.  But, I would encourage other RTTY users, especially those that predominately operate with a mouse, to weigh in on your preferences.
