Did a full reinstall of N1MM and MMTTY. TRX AutoUpdate not checked. K3S in AFSK-A, Making lots of QSO's by spinning the dial
or CQing. Click on a bandmap spot and it goes there for an instant then shifts up 2125 khz on the bandmap.

Truly the must frustrating part of this hobby, when something works fine 2 weeks ago (DL-DX RTTY) and now it doesn't at all :(

That looks to me like what would happen if the TRXAutoUpdate option was turned on. This option should be turned off (unchecked) with a K3/K3S in either AFSK A or FSK D.

Sounds like you have Auto TRX Update turned on. Setup/Auto TRX Update.

Just turned on N1MM for the NA RTTY. Downloaded the latest version. S&P QSO's work just fine. Clicking on a bandmap
spot, either with the mouse or CTRL UP/DOWN, moves the RX for a moment to the spot freq the shifts off a few khz.

Rebooted.Hmmm....

I think what you are saying is that the 2Tone config in N1MM's digital modes tab is unnecessary?

Yes that is correct… The way you have it setup now if you have so2v or so2r selected it will load 2tone and use that for your digital engine.

Thanks Rick... that took care of the mode changes. Now it remains in FSK-D.

I expect MMTTY and 2Tone to be receive only. I start 2Tone by going to the DI-1 window, selecting setup, add rx, enable. I think what you are saying is that the 2Tone config in N1MM's digital modes tab is unnecessary?

Now that the mode is stable I'm going to see about getting through NAQP as-is. There are still some questions. I've spent the last week listening for RTTY signals so I could do some testing and only found one.

Thanks!

How do I bring up a window so I can type a message.

I need this just in case one of the Function Key Messages does have the info I need to send.

Kev..

Are you actually using the Winkey for RTTY FSK  or are you wanting to use MMTTY??

If you are actually using the Winkey it doesn’t matter what mode MMTTY is set to as it is a receive only window when using it with the Winkey.

If you are actually trying to use MMTTY then you need to change a couple of things. The TU Type needs to be set to soundcard. And on the hardware tab you need to setup a keying method.

It sounds like you want to use 2Tomne as a receive only window. You don’t do that by setting it up for use with DI2 like you have it. To configure it as a receive only window you need to open the digital window and then click setup and towards the bottom of the drop down menu is a selection for Add. RX window and then from there open Add. RX window. If you have never had a rx window open you will be presented with a configuration setup window.

To keep your mode from switching go to the Mode tab and in the middle there are 2 drop down selections for each radio. Under the RTTY dropdown select the mode you want the radio to be used in while doing RTTY. This will stop it from changing modes.

In general, everything seems to be operating as expected. The remaining issue is that when I change bands using N1MM+ I have to go back in and reset the DATA MD on the radio from AFSK-A to FSK-D. It stays there until I change bands again.

When I change bands on the radio, the mode stays on FSK-D as expected.

The Digital Modes tab shows DI1 TU type Winkey. DI-1 MMTTY setup mode FSK.

The mode for 2Tone is set to AFSK but it doesn't seem to matter which I select and that's receive only I think. The attached picture shows the config.

Anyone have an idea of what setting I missed?

Hi George,

I replaced my aging shack PC with one of these last year:

It's been pretty great. The only thing I changed was to add a 500G SSD for the main system drive.

Karin,

I had the same problem while running on Windows 7.   Tom/N1MM gave me the solution in a message a few days ago.... look for my message 'check for new program version and install' for Tom's reply.

Problem was my computer was using .Net 4.0 and needed to be updated to at least .Net 4.5 or better.  I googled 'check .Net version' to see how to check my version and once I found it was too old it was an easy fix to update my .Net software
