I was able to recover the 160 file and the cqwwcw file but recovered with the previously saved ADIF file for the CQWWCW. It would only allow me to do one recovery per database and the 160 went fine.

so now i am pretty certain important data is preserved. I also created a full ADIF from my daily dx log.

When i open logger+ i get 17 white error on startup popups. Then i get a country file import required. if i download and install latest it seems happy but if i shut down and reopen, it all starts again.
Any more thoughts?

It looks as if your database file was damaged during the crash. In that case, your best bet is probably to recover the missing QSOs from the TRN files.

Create a new empty database file using the File > New Database menu item. Create a new ARRL160 log in that database. Now use the File > Import > Recover QSOs from a Transaction Log menu item to import QSOs from the ARRL 160 transaction file (if there is more than one, the one with this year's contest date in the file name). You may need to do a Tools > Rescore Current Contest, but otherwise you should be good to go.

If you also want to recover lost QSOs from the CQWWCW log, you will have to go through the same process again. Create another new empty database file, then a new CQWWCW log in that new empty database, then recover QSOs from the TRN file for this year's CQWWCW contest.

thanks, with an older version of the ini i was able to get it loaded up and it found the data base. The 160 is not in the drop down box but is in the open log section but when i select it i get 2 of the runtime message boxes.
also i get a couple of white background error boxes on startup. all windows open normally  and it follows the radio  and gets into telnet etc.
I tried to open the second log on the list (CQWWCW) and it appeared to open but some popup runtimes opened and the qso count was not the same as it was. shows 589 and final was 717 . DX log apears to be good.
any other suggestions?

Barry, this sounds like you lost your n1mm logger.ini file, but probably everything else is there.  The ini file is installed by default in C:\Users\[your login]\Documents\N1MM Logger+, and you should be able to restore your last one from the cloud.  Once you do that, you may need to manually load the 160 contest by going through File>Open database>, opening the logging database you were using, and then selecting the 160 contest.

If I'm guessing wrong and the database is somehow among the missing, you can create a new database and retrieve your 160m  QSOs from the transaction file, which is found in the Databases sub-folder of the N1MM+ documents folder.  See the manual for the procedure.
