I think there might be a contest on this weekend?
Great surplus bash last night - plenty of people and lots of £££
changing hands. Happy days. Well done to everyone there for
helping to make it a success. Nice to see Ken and Chris G4ZCS in the house, and hi to Tony
M7DVQ who travelled up on the bus from Brighton to visit us for
the first time. Welcome also to Len G8LVZ who I believe was also
in attendance. Well done to Phil, who is due great credit for organising, sourcing, building and configuring all the ancillary switching and timing gear required to fully support the new Flex radio remotely. I also grabbed some press photos for BH Town Council, so look out
for some familiar faces on their social media feeds soon. Finally, it's crazy on 15m today for CQ WW - way busier (on our KiwiSDR) than on 20m even. I've never seen it this way before, but then I've only been doing this for 5 minutes :) M0XYF

M7DVQ Tony
Hi Berni and everyone,
Thanks for letting me invade your 'junk' sale arriving late and then leaving early. I will make sure my next visit will be on a normal night so I can meet more of you. I intend joining MSARS if you will accept me in a couple of months, so will keep my fingers crossed for that. 73 Tony M7DVQ |

G8LVZ Len
It’s a little after 8am this Sunday morning and I am delighted to report that I now have the ex-society FT990 plugged in, switched on, instruction manual read, and about 60cms wire stuffed into the centre of the SO259. Amazingly I can hear G3WYN on the 80M net! The other signals are just there but not resolvable. A good omen for when I have the FT990 set up with a proper aerial of some sort. Still early days here of course. Also listening to the net on the SDR. Len G8LVZ
