Black-chinned Hummingbird

Tue, 10 May 2022– This evening about 30 minutes before sundown, I had two brief visits at the front porch feeder by a female BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD.
It stood out by its clean, white underparts. Smaller than Anna’s Hummingbirds. Back greenish, crown gray. Tail projected only faintly beyond wingtips when perched.
This is only my second sighting of this species at this location in 43 years.
