Crows travel in large groups on their way to roost. We observed around 1,250 streaming in to roost one evening here in the Bay Area. The biggest single "clump" in the stream was around 50

Flock of crows or ravens?
Hi folks,
A few days ago I saw a flock of crows or ravens in the distance over Holmes Ranch here in the Anderson Valley. I couldn’t tell if they were either of those species. Do either or both

Pelagic next Friday?
The marine forecast for next Friday (Feb. 4) looks nice, and if I can get a boat, I am hoping to pull together enough people to do a half-day pelagic seabirding trip out to the Noyo Canyon.

JEHL Scale analysis from Lucas Corneliussen says 22 - which puts it smack
dab in the middle for a hybrid, much as the Monterey bird from last year,
which he also thinks is the same bird.

I was looking at the same photos as well as some from an article about the
same bird (Jan 2021, Monterey) and wondered the same thing - could this be
the same bird???
Thanks for bringing that
