Ukiah WWTP Swamp Sparrow 11/13

Chuck & Barbara Vaughn

Greetings Mendobirders- There was a Swamp Sparrow along the north
fenceline at the Ukiah Wastewater Treatment Plant earlier this morning.
It appeared to be an adult in crisp basic plumage. I first saw the bird
in the cattails in the wet area along the fence. It was with a large
number of sparrows (Crowned, Savannah, Song, Lincoln's) feeding along the
fence. It eventually disappeared in one of the large Himalaya Berry
patches just over the fence in the field to the N.
