Andrea,

I received overlays from David. I am very busy, and have a short holiday next week.
I'll let you know when it works. Basically you need the overlay files and a small update of xrit2pic to use them.

Andrea,
I am not sure if you use xrit2pic 32-bits or 64-bits.
Currently xrit2pic 32-bits version 2021_3 is now available; also download Coastlines.zip, which contains GOES16 and GOES17 overlays.
Tested with GOES16; David, overlays are perfect!

I didn't test with GOES17 yet (have to get satellite data first).

I'll try to compile for Linux 64-bits tomorrow. Windows will also follow 'some time'.
Note that the overlays are coast lines, not countries!
