eumetsat/eumetcast

Hello,
May I ask for your help, please ?
I am at home in Northern Bavaria and have been enjoying Eumetcast for quite some time, mainly its basic service via the Ayecka SR1.
A short while ago I suddenly lost my Eumetcast link. I used a 1m dish.
So far I have been unable to find the reason/s for this.
Perhaps it is related with the current building boom among my neighbours.
As I have a rather small balcony I just got the Technisat 45cm dish. It performs well with the Eutelsat 9 E satellite whilst "ignoring" Eutelsat 10E.
I wonder if I could amend the found Eutelsat 9E with the Eumetcast 11262.500 C4 transponder 33000 H. After all there is only the small 1degree
difference between both.
Please advise with details if feasible,
Thank you very much in advance for your assistance.
Kind regards,
Roland

Roland,

First thing to say is - did you receive EUMETCast BS service on this 45 cm dish?
If so how many years ago was this.

Or, was this only when EUMETCast was disseminated from Hotbird 13 degrees east - and your dish was aligned on this satellite?

If you are receiving E 9-B then even though building work has been done you should still be able to 'see' E 10-A.

You will see from the attached power contour maps that E 9-B is far more powerful in your location (and across Europe) than E 10-A.
51 dBW compared to 48 dBW.
Which means you will require a much bigger dish - minimum 85 cm for BS.

Regards,
John

Thank you very much,John !

Shortly ago I got BS service via my 1m dish.

Out of reasons unknown to me several days ago this link vanished.

I spent several days trying to re-align this dish - to no avail so far.

I have little free space available on my small balcony and I am surrounded by houses.

I cannot freely adjust without upsetting adjustment of the other dishes setup on the balcony.

The 45cm dish from Technisat just fits in and is great for all Eutelsat dishes except E10A.

It shows there maximum values - excepting E10A where it remains totally silent.

Probably another try replacing the 45cm dish by an 80cm one will close this chapter,

I am puzzled by Eumetsat picking the weakest Eutelsat satellite - what kept them from picking right from the beginning HB 13E ??

Wish me good luck !

Regards,

Roland
