BS/HVS-1 traffic levels.

Hello All,

Is it my imagination or are there more periods/blocks of very low traffic recently?
Sometimes the traffic meter on my SR1 shows the needle hovering between 0 and 5 Mbps for 'quite long periods.'

OK, I know that data cannels have been re-organised, but the same level of data is being disseminated on these two channels?
Or have some services, which I don't use, been moved over to HVS-2?

Anyway, it seems to me that there is spare data capacity on TP1 at times?

Regards,
John Tellick.

Not aware of any significant changes, John.

Here is what a few other see:

There is a link at the very bottom of that page for year/month/week/day data.

Cheers,
David

David,

Thanks for the monitoring link.

I'm not missing 'anything' so no problems.
I guess I only look at the SR1 Controller 'at the wrong time.'

And the graphs show the changing peaks and troughs of data against time.

Regards,
John.

That's good. The graphs are each averaged over a 5-minute period (for data
flow) so fast variations are not seen. If you're taking only BAS data, that
will be zero when HVS-1 is sent.

One mistake I made was to omit the one of the new channels, as it seemed that
the MPEF data was duplicated! IIRC new "E1B-GEO-4" needs to go to old "Data
Channel 3", as old "Data Channel 4" was not used. Sigh.

Cheers,
David
