Black circle in CLAI images

Hi
Since one week I am using Davids MSG data manager and I am very impressed of it. I have a question maybe it;s a stupid question but I am not a weatherman: The CLAI image (Cloud Analysis) shows a black circle in the image what is this, is that the shadow of the satelite?
the middle point on the image of 2003-dec-31 is Lat -10.9, Lon -5,2 degrees.

No, that is the area where at the moment of taking the image the sun reflects
directly below. For purposes of accuracy of information provided in this
derived image, the sunlit area has been "worked-out", providing the circle you
refer to.

Cheers,

Ferdinand
